Aye it does my head in when people with no allegiance to either Manchester club or aren't from the area call them just City or United. Nobody called Sheffield Wednesday just Wednesday, it was always Sheff Wed, or Sheffield/Sheff United for the blades. I can't remember anyone not from the North West calling Man City just City until their dominance which makes me think it's a media/success led thing.
