Was watching Shearer talk about this earlier and he was saying they would all likely be granted leave to stay for that game. I think the first game isn't til the 20th or 21st of something.

Micky Jnr African Football Journalist makes it 3, and he's my golden source for African Football.

Gotta hold my hands up here, I really didn't think he'd be skipping the AFCON in order to play for us.

I did expect that he'd have had some minutes for us by then mind you.

Think FIFA said Premiership club as can keep players until Sunday 14th.

No doubt there will be a decent amount of moaning from Man United fans, as they play Bournemouth on Monday 15th.

Fingers crossed the Mackem players have got their Gucci suitcases packed and are checked out for the 14th.

CN has posted on X that he's been left out of the DRC squad for the AFCON -  not sure what his source is and if it's legit but if true we're "free" to play him when he's ready and also have him for the whole month which would be excellent.

It's right there in the name, you have to trust him.

Also, I will now be hoping for DR Congo to win the whole thing!

"For me, the most important thing is to be here. I can't be 100% when I am feeling like this."

"So yeah, I am looking forward to watching my country play at AFCON and I will be focused on this team and doing well."

"My target was always just to come back first. After that I will know what target I will have."

"For now, the most important thing is to win every single game, and that's why I am here."

"Nick is a top player and he can help me with my game. He is definitely a little taller than me!"

"But I can run around him, and we can definitely play together."

"I can bring that Premier League experience, like running from behind, coming from deep and driving the ball."

"I am quite different and that is why the manager is buzzing to have two players like this. I feel we will make a very good partnership together."

"It is a top number to have here. When I was growing up I was watching Alan Shearer's career, Demba Ba and Papiss Cisse."

"I watched the games and knew it was a top, top club. I am so happy to be here."

"I want to help the club get where they want to be and I need to deliver."

"That is what I have been waiting for."
