howe's team seemingly on a spiral of ever decreasing circles v guardiola's resurgent CITY who we always do so well against. get in, can't wait for this one! :

I can understand why the Man City fans are upset. They're marginal calls that went against their team and on another day Man City might have had a penalty and not conceded Barnes' second. But, I'd say that being upset about marginal calls that robbed you of victory isn't looking at what really cost you points. Profligate finishing and a failure to handle the play down the flanks.

End of the day Haaland and Foden both missed chances that they'd usually score, and despite Donnarumma's heroics they conceded more opportunities than they should be happy with.

As we could have as well tbh.

Yes but the charge from some citeh quarters is that the winning goal is part of some sort of conspiracy against them. I hate to say it but the reason they didn't win is because they didn't acheive their xG 🤷🏻‍♂️

I understand being pissed off about the penalty, I would have been too. But I don't think Bruno was offside for the second goal, and Donnarumma needs to be less of a fanny under challenges.

Offside rule was designed to stop goalhanging, not to rule out goals because someone's toenail was offside. They need to modernise the current law to just draw lines from feet and for there to be daylight between players for it to be offside

But he doesn't does he, at the point at which the ball is headed? as seen in the still of the action, he is still on the ground and the arm is clearly further from the line than bruno's foot.

Not bitter, just fed up of the way var can manipulate any outcome, even if I would expect it to occur against the red cartel rather than you lot (although arse obviously benefit)

He's not on the ground in the picture he just looks it due to the angle, distance of the camera and the poor quality. He makes three hops (this is the first of them), they are very clear in the video replays, and are why in the computer generated image he is correctly off the ground.

Here's another angle of the moment the ball is headed by Woltemade where to the naked eye Dias looks ahead of Bruno.

At any length I could go on about this for ever as it's just more reason to think about this very important performance and victory for us. If I were you'd I'd let it go and enjoy the fact that your season is going well and Pep has the fire back as evidenced by his carry on after the game.

If Barnes doesn't finish Bruno's  MIRACULOUS  flick back it's a fucking penalty to Newcastle anyway :cuppa:

Such brilliant control and finish from Barnes. Surrounded by city players and they didn't have a chance.

You can also see some of Dias' hops in this video @trainman if you wish to relive this magic moment some more.

Pep quizzed on talking to players from other clubs after games.

The stuff about the cameraman and him having a go at him for recording "a private conversation".

Mate, the game's on telly.

Why doesn't he do what half the tarts do these days and cover his mouth when talking in 'private' stood in front of 52,000 and a global TV audience just in case there's any lip-readers in the crowd furiously taking notes?

The "rules" fuck everyone over at some point. A change is long overdue. Unfortunately for City's fans, it was just their turn. However, the calls weren't the only issue, their players just couldn't put their chances away. Totally understand why they are upset though.

Deffo not bitter, whinging on another teams message board. No not at all

Whinging? Nah, just putting across a point of view. If discussion is not allowed I'll leave you to it. FYI I thought a draw would have been fair, 4-4...
