So you're stuck with whatever garage did the MOT to carry out the repair? That seems like a bit of a scam to me.

Over here your MOT is carried out at a government run centre. If you fail then you're given a couple of weeks to go away and get the problem fixed then go back to have the repair checked.

Normally yes, but it was classed as a major fail. Its the garage I always use anyway

When's the big day? My 50th is next month.

Born exactly 10 years apart. It's cosmic symmetry, a thing of bewildering and awe inspiring beauty. And to think, some do not believe in the divine providence of the almighty.

WTF

No wonder people struggle with predictive text.

I was typing …. Can you set QuickBooks up to monitor Vat even though you ….. are not Vat registered..

And this is what it was predicting

Quite apt actually and made me laugh.

Just been informed by the DVLA I can't drive for a year from received information by someone who they won't divulge. I've rang the RVI dept who were dealing with me and they insist it's not them, ditto my GP. I've tried ringing the DVLA but there's a waiting time of almost two hours and I'm going to work before that so I'll have to try first thing tomorrow. FFS. I haven't had any deja vu episode for about a year, had MRI scans and EEG scans which have found, to my knowledge, absolutely nothing other than a slightly enlarged fluid lake which everyone has and wouldn't cause my 'deja vu'. I'm not on any medication as I have no illness. I honestly wish I'd never brought it up.

That's shite HMHM - you're surely within rights to know the details as to why you've had your licence revoked. Hope you manage to get it sorted.

Cheers, Craig. I'll see what happens tomorrow but even if this gets sorted I've a feeling I'm not driving for a few weeks which I could do without at this time of the year, also we have a motability car sitting on the driveway in lieu of a mobility payment the missus is entitled to.

Different situation, but during the period when I was having the investigations which led to me having to get my pacemaker, I had to make the final payment on my honeymoon (first marriage, thanks for asking).

Anyway, I then couldn't go and the insurance company didn't want to know cos they said I made the final payment while the investigations were taking place.

I got in touch with the consultant I'd been seeing who wrote a letter telling them that I couldn't have reasonably had any idea what was going to happen cos at the time she didn't, and she was the consultant.

In the end I got the full amount back.

Which is a long winded way of saying to see if you can get the consultant you've seen to write you a letter for the DVLA.

I've already spoken to his secretary, looks like I've got to wait for an already arranged appointment in early January.

Christ, that's mental/outrageous, surely they can't act on info from anyone who isn't a medical professional actually/specifically involved in your case and I would have thought if it had been someone like that they'd at least tip you off "I'm sorry but due to your condition we will have recommend etc. Etc. Etc".

Fucking shit mate !!!!

It isn't the consultant apparently but it'll be someone in the chain as they can't just take Joe Bloggs word for it?

I’d put money on it being one of their own medical staff.
I had my medical the other day done by the leading Professor in Cardiology Imaging in the country.

Some GP on the DVLA payroll can over rule him.

100% sure that’s what’s happened here.

Aye but how do they find out in the first place? They didn't just send me a form to fill out, out of the blue?
