I think it's quite common for non-gamblers to equate "odds" with "likelihood" when they talk about things like this, hence getting high/low the wrong way round.

I bet they don’t.

@Christmas Tree

Thank me later. 👍

You’ve whooshed me

It’s early, but I’m unsure whether you’ve tagged me because ….

1. It’s got Crypto in the name

2. You think I should be selling these on my Etsy store.

3. I should be looking out for these when metal detecting

I think he was suggesting you’d be naive enough to buy one ;)

Heads up to anyone who's interested. There's a "to scale" solar system trail on the coast being held this weekend. Think the sun and the inner solar system will be on longsands with Neptune and Pluto as far away as St Mary's lighthouse. For reference, if the sun is the size of a football, on this scale the next nearest star, Proxima Centauri, would be in Chicago. It's a nice walk although the weather is probably going to be shit. They have a permanent one in Melbourne and I'm hoping they will make a permanent version of this too.

The sun was a fucking large beachball. All the other planets were about the size of a pea.

Genuinely the worst recommendation anyone has EVER made on here. Worse than any of CT's by a mile.

There's a permanent "model solar system" in one of the villages where I used to go walking regularly when we lived in that London. It's brilliantly underwhelming.

My favourite (well, it would be) is Uranus next to the bin next to the bus stop.

I told my lass (repeatedly) that we'd be walking to Uranus and then heading back, but we had to abort the mission on account of its shitness.

Her anus remains uncharted territory.

Listen you fucking bunch of ingrates and ignoramuses. It's a pop up crowd funded thing purely intended to show the scale of the solar system. If it is successful there are plans to make a permanent display with bronze cast sculptures on pedestals like this one in Melbourne. Supposed to be quite mind blowing that is the sun were the scale of the alorange thing pluto would be at St Mary's lighthouse the size of lentil. Not much chance of that happening with these attitudes.

But aye, this attempt is a bit underwhelming. I need to sell this to my kids tomorrow. :panic:

What would have been genuinely mind blowing would have been the length of the walk back to the car, after I arrived at St Mary's Lighthouse to find a lentil on a stick.
