  1. I'd wager we'll never find out how much they end up paying.
  2. Carried straight on after I finished my Mechanical Engineering Masters, the research started as looking at particle transport and deposition in the lungs, ended up being much less relevant, in my eyes anyway, more theoretical. The thing is I actually enjoyed my first degree, whether that was down to people I was with on my course, or the actual content I'm not sure. Anyway, I'm starting a complete fresh in a couple of weeks. starting afresh? I'm intrigued. (When I read "Particle Transport" I immediately thought Star Trek) Trainee Accountant....Gemmill be buggered. And no, we have neither Warp Factor 5 or any "beaming up" going on round here.
  3. I see where you're coming from there like. Looking at him you'd never think he'd amount to much but he knows instinctively where the goal is. Plus he's got a canny few years on when Phillips was starting.

  5. Perhaps a card with "Happy Birthday Dad" on it.
  6. John Mayer I don't think has been mentioned. Great stuff for relaxing on a summer's day. Or Damien Rice.
  7. Ok, so in the interests of saving The Fish's turtle neck, I'll say that I think that the biggest mistake I've made so far would be the undertaking of this PhD. The only part of the three years I can say that I have enjoyed was the 6 months I spent working in Italy, the rest has been a total drag, and I realise that it really wasn't something I was cut out to do. Whether this has been down to the lack of supervision I have received or just my waning interest in the subject, an interest I have to say wasn't huge to begin with, I'm not sure. I probably fell into doing it as it seemed like an easy option when it was offered. Now it just feels like I've put myself three years behind everyone else in my group. Totally pointless and I have little inclination to finish and no intention of using what I have learned in the future.
  8. And then you created this thread?
  9. I'd be exceedingly chuffed, and not a little surprised if all three of those came off.
  10. 148-0. Realistically I can see us keeping it tight and getting a 2-0. Obviously our league position will be dependent on others results, but we will have played a game less than a lot of them.
  11. We do a bit of this sort of thing, but all pots since our garden is all gravel and slabs. Which is a good thing. Got some canny lettuce, rocket, peppers, tomatoes (both in a wee greenhouse) and a few chilli plants, one of which is absolutely laden. Also got a canny few herbs on the go. If you want to go down the pot root, I'd say good drainage is probably the biggest thing. Waterlogged plants generally don't do very well at all.
  12. Seeing as we haven't won there in what 5/6 years, I'm not exactly confident of securing all three points on Saturday. How much those victories were down to Allardyce remains to be seen however.
  13. Have to say I'm looking forward to seeing this lad play. Can't beat a bit of bully.
  14. I'm surprised Berb hasn't told James to get knotted.
  15. The lock down zone will be made larger if and when necessary is the official line. Much was made last time about the "countryside being closed", a stance the government are keen to avoid this time, being as it is, the height of summer. But even if that was done, there are still plenty of other mechanisms for it spreading, notably deer.
  16. I'm not arsed as long as I see the toon win the league before it happens. That'll be the final straw most likely.
  17. Duff, for me, has to be the most dissapointing signing we've had in an age. Admittedly he's had a few injuries, but when he came in I was genuinely excited about getting a real, talented, consistent, class winger and we haven't seen any of it.
