I knew I had heard/read something about it somewhere. Townsend will be at the Euro's this summer so even if such a clause didn't exist he still won't be staying.

Maybe I'm being cynical but what's the point... The club is so badly mismanaged, I'll be amazed if anything productive or constructive happens over the summer and next season. This situation should be used as a fantastic opportunity to shift all the utter garbage we have in our team, keep a decent spine, bring in some quality and bleed some of the the youth. The likelihood is that we will still continue to play the utter dross we have in our team that we won't be able to move on because they are so shite. Our signing strategy was once lauded, I can't believe the amount of money we spent this season and we've managed to get ourselves relegated. Shambles, utter shambles.

Was too good to be true getting £8 million for him, begs the question what sort of wages he's after if this mob are willing to part with that amount of money for him. You'd think they'd be able to stump up wages too...

I think it's already been mentioned in the thread but 3-5-2 wouldn't be a bad alternative as I think we lack the pace out wide to go with a 4-2-3-1 Krul Mbemba Taylor Coloccini Janmaat Sissoko Tiote Wijnaldum Haidara DeJong Perez Janmaat is ironically our best attacking threat and it also means Sissoko can be box-to-box rather than being shafted out wide. I think De Jong and Perez would offer more up front than Cisse and Mitrovic at the moment.

I think that's more a reflection on poor investment rather than little ambition.

Going forward we have to: Start Perez - added an attacking threat straight away. Play De Jong - more matches the better, he's lacking match sharpness but you can see there is a footballer in there from last night. Stop playing Colback and Anita - they are pish. Sissoko should be playing in a more central role rather than shunted out to the right. Cisse can't play upfront by himself. Thauvin needs a kick up the arse, I can't believe we paid £13 million for a guy that was in Ligue 1's worst team of the year last season - mental.

Don't see much point in signing Austin now, far too similar to Mitrovic and I had actually thought that after signing him these links with Austin would be put to bed....

Maybe I'm being too cynical here but I fully expect Remy to start the season at QPR and if we sign that lad Ferreyra that will be the end of our transfer business.

We are still about 3-4 signings away from challenging the top 6 imo. We have improved our starting eleven in areas but we don't really have any options from the bench, we can't take off someone like Cabella and replace him with Sammy Ameobi or Obertan.

Looks like he will be starting the season at QPR. Arsenal would have signed him by now if they were seriously interested.

We should stick with him and partner him with Colo at every opportunity, he's struggling to adapt because he's played out of position or not given a decent run in the side, he can be a good player for us. To send him back to Ligue 1 on loan is ridiculous.
