Absolute horse shit. My Dad's been driving a taxi for 15 years. He made £36 on a nine hour shift yesterday, precisely because of the ridiculous growth in numbers from licenses being handed out willy nilly. Dont know what to say to that. I dont work days during half term because it is quiter with the kids off. And no offence to your dad, but different offices produce different results and so do different drivers. Even at the office I work for, there are drivers who make the £50 quids a shift and those who make the £100. Its no different to any line of work really. Friday £230 dble shift 1pm -- midnight Saturday £310 dble shift 1pm -- midnight Sunday £220 dble shift 1pm -- midnight Who does he work for? You can certainly pull more in over the weekend (though I'm not sure that Sunday aftermnoon/night is as profitable as Friday.) Even with your exaggerated figures, take off 30% for petrol, 15% for office subs, and 20% of what's left for tax and £230 is about £80. For an 11 hour shift. First of all for the bold comment. Sunday is tarrif 2 all day in south tyneside and is far busier than a friday night. Shields is dead on a friday night compared to a saturday and sunday is a big club day and night. Figures quoted are after petrol deductions as i take them of each shift. Office rent is 105 a week. Apart from me find me a taxi driver who pays 20% tax and ill nip out and buy you next weeks winning lottery ticket. Most taxi drivers wages, due to the low earnings are subsidised by Tax credits etc. Some I know with a couple of kids get £180.00 a week Tax credits. The fucking purpose of the post was to genuinely help out any fucker who loses their job and is on skid row. I went from nearly 100,000 a year to £50 dole with a nice big mortgage and it saved by bacon and still is, so take your fucking exagerated figures and go fuck yourself with them. What exactly did you do to earn £100k pa?

I just got this up: It's my work computer running McAfee, surprised it didn't pick it up.

If you are trying to get from there to Penshaw in rush hour you'll be looking at at least 40 mins I would say. It'll not be a cheap taxi fare, it's the best part of 20 miles. There is the George Washington Hotel in Washington which is passable, but doesn't solve the 'stuck in arseend of beyond' problem. Read some bad reviews of GW Hotel. Priced a taxi at around 20 quid each way, not too bad seeing as I'm not paying for it.
-
3 hour round trip for me too, I've gotten used to it now so it's not so bad.

Booked the Hotel Du Vin in town, looks decent.

I've given up, there's no point in discussing the issue with people who would refuse to admit that they've changed their opinions even if they realise they're wrong.

How many clubs in the PL are actually debt free and making a profit?

Lumley Castle seems to be fully booked for the dates I'm looking. And fuck a 50-60 minute journey on public transport, should be about 25 mins in a taxi from Newcastle according to Google so might do that instead. I just don't want to end up spending my evenings in some shithole.

4/7 at the minute with PP, not sure at that price.

I'm due to be working in Penshaw for a week and was considering staying in Newcastle while there, does anyone know how easy the commute would be from Newcastle? Seeing as I'll probably be relying on public transport / taxis. Or alternatively if anyone knows of any decent hotels in the Penshaw area then that would be an option.

Llambias and Ashley combined can only aspire to one day know as much as fuck all about football. The problem is that Ashley doesn't know that he knows fuck all about football.

Unemployment in NI = 4.2% Unemployment in the North East = 8.4% Suck it bitch. Are you scousers in disguise? Fiddled figures, unemployment 4%, so they thrown 22% in as on the old Tom and Dick. Time for change, give the provence to the Republic of Ireland, let the people have what they want. The North East's economically inactive rate of 23.2% is hardly anything to shout about now is it?
-
GVA per capita in North East England = £15,177 GVA per capita in Northern Ireland = £15,175 A swing and a miss but keep trying.

The Shepherds and Halls got as much money as they could out of Ashley, you can't really blame them for that.

Ashley to try to halt season ticket sale decline...

I think the Keegan decision was a bit of luck on their behalf, a decision made by the heart rather than by using any sort of judgement. The last time they made a decision ruled by the heart as well. -

Or will it just result in reducing the already meagre transfer kitty? It's a catch 22 situation. -
Crazy prices for what? CDs? I don't think they're particularly expensive myself. Didn't McFly release their last album free with the Mail on Sunday and try to make their money through other means? I wonder how that worked out for them.

Too far over healthy border for my liking, I've put on a fair bit of weight over the past year but trying to shift a couple of stone at the moment.

Why can't you adopt the same attidude to other "out of towners" who feel the same pain and passion to Newcaslte United ???? Most of them are 94-98 boys though if you're honest. Where as these lads clearly were all behind the toon in the Jim Smith era. Aye, I'm sure that English Second Division football was a priority round the time of the revolutions.

He clearly reckoned that the fans were a bunch of mugs who would pack out the stadium regardless of the shite on show and allow him to complete his cost reductions and he's suddenly realised that that's not the case. -
Was Viduka one of Shepherd's last signings or an Ashley signing?
-
Profit? You mean companies not wanting their property to be illegally distributed? I download as much copyrighted material as anyone else but you can see why the companies want to prosecute. Fair play to the lads though for sticking to their guns though.

A common complaint from Mrs P I bet.

Is there any proof to show that these campaigns actually work? There is a risk that the constant talk of illegal drugs normalises it rather than puts kids off it.
