  1. And if you knew anything you'd know that they did that out of necessity, not because of any political leanings. You are talking as if what they have done has solved the problem? Now the risk has gone from the banks falling over to the government going bankrupt. Great. It solved the problem that needed to be solved at the time, however, there are obviously problems linked to that which weren't given enough thought at the time but they will be solved over time.

  3. Perhaps Neither does Michael J Fox deserve credit for contracting Parkinsons, or Terry Pratchett alzheimers. They deserve all the credit they get for raising awareness of those diseases though. Irrespective of what you think about how they achieved the fame that allows them to raise awareness, the fact is they all do. ...Fox and Pratchett probably for less profit I'd speculate. Fox and Pratchett have both campaigned for research and help for their respective illnesses, in addition to both making significant financial contributions. Granted, time was against Goody but she did fuck all for other cancer sufferers. Given the outpouring of sympathy for her after it was announced she had cancer she could have easily raised a significant amount of money in donations wihout having to do very much.
  4. I'm positive a lot of women in their twenties don't give a moments thought to getting a screening....heck the government won't fund screenings if you're under 25. I know there's a debate over the validity of a test up to that point, but I imagine a lot more 25's and over have put in for one now. If i felt a bump in my nads I'd go to the doctor, if i couldn't feel my nads, I doubt I'd be pro-active about it, I'd wait until I felt something was wrong. I know people getting sponsorship for Cancer Research too that weren't planning to until they watched Jade's story on Living. All credit to her and them for that. It was a bi-product of her self-promotion campaign, certainly not an aim of it.
  5. Good to see the death of Ted Hughes' and Sylvia Plath's son pushing her off the front page of the Times this morning. Not that I give a fuck about his death but at least it wasn't her ugly mug looking at me.
  6. The older generation having a pop at the younger generation? Well this is unchartered journalistic territory right here.
  7. Passing back 60 times to the keeper? You tell me. It's your theory I'm going on If the CL is the benchmark 04/05 and 05/06 they didn't even make the semi-finals and in 06/07 the got whooped by a Milan in decline and about half the spend. Man U have more or less the biggest spending power in the world game. The declining Milan who ended up winning the competition? Disgraceful. Thanks for making my point. Your point that Milan clearly weren't as shit as you're letting on? Anytime.

  9. And this from Bishop Jonathan Blake.
  10. Even Gordon Brown has issued a statement on her. Mmmmm, exactly hat work did she do to raise awareness of cervical cancer? Apart from contracting it of course.
  11. http://www.newsoftheworld.co.uk/news/217432/JADE-DEAD.html Some of the 'tributes' on there are taking the piss.
  12. Well he's back in today.
  13. I passed one of them one morning. Trying to remember where it was to see if they recorded me.
  14. He worked well with Peter, the first 20 mins at Man U game was the best we'd played all season. I'd stick to that rather than change it now. Owen added nothing against Hull. If we pay Lovenkrands and Guti in mified then we might have a chance, if we're playing one up front then we certainly need pace on the wings.
  15. In that case we can expect Arsenal to be camped in our half for 90 mins.
  16. Possibly in bad taste but anyway http://www.isjadegoodydeadyet.com/

  18. Fergie's chink is Europe. He was shit without Queerass. Ah was he there in '99 and when they won the Cup Winners Cup? Overall their performance in Euro over the last decade has been pretty shit for the 2nd richest club in the world. 2008 Manchester United FC 6-5 penalties 1-1 after extra time Chelsea FC 2007 AC Milan 2-1 Liverpool 2006 FC Barcelona 2-1 Arsenal 2005 Liverpool 3-2 penalties 3-3 after extra time AC Milan 2004 FC Porto 3-0 AS Monaco FC 2003 AC Milan 3-2 penalties 0-0 after extra time Juventus FC 2002 Real Madrid CF 2-1 Bayer Leverkusen 2001 FC Bayern München 5-4 penalties 1-1 after extra time Valencia CF 2000 Real Madrid CF 3-0 Valencia CF 1999 Manchester United FC 2-1 FC Bayern München 1998 Real Madrid CF 1-0 Juventus FC Uh... so the point you're trying to make here is that only the richest club in the world have won the European Cup more times in the past ten years?
  19. Ummm, to me it looks like Sheen is playing a cross between Brian Clough and Dale Winton. Not really what I was expecting.
  20. Obviously they make a living out of this shit. http://www.mirror.co.uk/news/top-stories/2...15875-21209579/
  21. They're not completely talentless
  22. Pic for added hilarity. And another quote:
