Only in loan deals (obviously), it's against the rules to do it as part of a permanent transfer. http://www.guardian.co.uk/football/2007/ma...ewsstory.sport8 Edit: Though it appears that a gentlemen's agreement is ok.

I'm sure it would be organised so that the paper work or whatever didn't go through in time. I think it would have to be done by midday today anyway. To be paraded on the pitch before the game then.
-
There can't be a clause to prevent him from playing against us, the PL investigated the Howard to Everton deal a couple of years ago because he didn't play against Man U. I reckon that could be why we may be waiting until after Wednesday night to complete the deal, though as you say, if Harper is in goal then it's near enough a done deal.
-
IF he's worth £5m then what is Gary Caldwell now worth with all his league titles and CL experience?
-
It'll be interesting to see if he plays tomorrow night.
-
Got the book a while back, haven't got round to reading it yet.
-
Not a Yank but a Tokyo based Newcastle fan apparently.
-
So pretty much as risky as being a Brazilian in London then?
-
On the downside, he's out of contract in the summer. I can't see him leaving if he's told he'll be our No.1, he's waited long enough for it so it would seem silly to leave now unless we're taking the piss with his contract.
-
No chance imo.
-
I'm nearly sure it is.
-
Heading down there myself next weekend.

Just read the first two pages. http://www.corsa-c.co.uk/forum/showthread.php?t=184051

Now I remember why I normally refuse to argue with you.

And Chelsea too. http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/t...sea/7846371.stm

Labelling half your shareholders as 'crybabies' will have that effect.
-
I see Liverpool have been linked to some billionaire http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/t...ool/7846422.stm Why couldn't we get someone like this whenever the club was up for sale?
-
Who would work with him? He treats his shareholders like shit, treats the fans like shit and treats his staff like shit. I suppose there's a chance of an Ashley / Kemsley dream time.
-
Oh by the way Ewerk, just to compound your utter misery in this thread. As far as Fop is aware, we still are by the way (to the tune of £55 billion - I'm sure Gemmill will break is silence to inform us if this is incorrect ). The 10% bonus comes from repaying the first quarter of the loan...... so does this mean there'll be another 3 x 10 bonuses (another £27m+) for the next 3/4's of the loan? I never said the that the loan was completely repaid you fucking cretin, I meant that we're not giving them any further funds. Do try to keep up.

To be fair he didn't really have much choice in the matter as if he hadn't then we could've went into administration and it's likely that SJH would have done the same had he been in charge.
-
Some shit from some bird:
-
Aye, he'd do a job at raising morale at the very least.
-
Not really, unless you reckon he single-handedly decided the bonuses.
-
As alex and ewerk like to say - answer the question. Yeah, they love to say that. Not a symptom of your slippery bastard evasion techniques of course. Fop has answered all questions, Gemmill has not. What's your job Fop? What's Gemmill's? Answering a question with a question?
