The Fall and Rise of Alain Perrin.

Agreed, if every arsehole footballer was banned from lacing on a pair of boots, some of the best players in the world would never have played. Although I do feel very uneasy at the prospect of him in the Newcastle dressing room.
-
Agreed you could argue that what he's done isn't too bad, but what he did was very disruptive, chinning a team mate (although I'd imagine that happens on the training ground a fair bit), publicly slagging off the team, and didn't he also put out a cigar in the eye of a trainee ?? Not worth hanging for but not conducive for harmony in the dressing room.

From an engineering point of view creating an iron man is plain daft, its far too prone to oxidation and corrosion, and it's strength the weight ratio is quite poor, a Titanium man or Aluminium man would have been a much better choice of material. Schoolboy error tbh

I think Barton is a better player than Parker, but the baggage he brings is not worth it.
-
Good point, although I still feel he owes us a good season, it would be more wasteful to lose him on a free than to cash in on him early and use the money to rebuild with players that actually want to play for us.

I think it needs an overhaul; ultimately it’s a tax purely for the benefit of the BBC, the fact that anyone buying a TV HAS to buy one whether they have any intention of watching BBC or not is plainly wrong.

More than 300 women have joined an online fan club for geeky James Reilly, who had his first sexual experience on Channel 4’s controversial Virgin School last month. A friend said: “James can’t believe his luck — most of the girls look well out of his league.” Cinema usher James, of Orpington, Kent, said he was “more concerned with personality than looks”.

NEWCASTLE star Obafemi Martins has gone AWOL for a third time this season. Nigeria boss Berti Vogts is fuming after Martins failed to show for Sunday’s friendly in Kenya. But the £10million striker claims he was stuck in Milan because he did not have the correct visa. Instead of flying direct to Kenya, Martins went to Italy for treatment and planned to link up with the squad via Amsterdam. Martins, 22, said: “I expected a visa in Nairobi but the airline officials would not let me board the plane from Milan. “They told me I risk deportation in Amsterdam for not having a Kenya visa. It’s really frustrating.” Martins is already on a final warning from the Super Eagles after missing a game in February. And he angered Toon team-mates by refusing to travel to Watford earlier this month, claming injury. Nigeria face Uganda in a vital African Nations Cup qualifier on Saturday. And former Scotland boss Vogts rapped: “I want to know why he isn’t here.”

Sam Allardyce is set to make the Ghana international Derek Boateng his first signing at Newcastle United. The expected arrival of the 24-year-old is a clear sign that the new manager wants to overhaul his midfield as well as defence with the injury-prone and high-earning Kieron Dyer, who has interested Tottenham Hotspur, unlikely to figure in Allardyce's plans. Newcastle are also aware of West Ham United's strong interest in buying Scott Parker, who has failed to settle in the north-east and, according to sources, the club is prepared to let their captain go if they receive an acceptable bid. Newcastle want at least £7m for Parker. Boateng, a striker who has been converted into an attacking midfielder, plays for the Israeli club Beitar Jerusalem. Allardyce has been tracking him for some time and had earmarked him as a recruit for Bolton. Although the transfer fee is thought to be less than £1m, Boateng has had an outstanding season at Beitar, having moved there last summer when he signed a three-year contract. He had previously played in Greece and Sweden and represented Ghana in last summer's World Cup. Boateng has yet to fulfil his potential although he has thrived in Israel. Four years ago Middlesbrough attempted to sign him but the bid failed because he could not secure a work permit. Since then he has become a regular international and now partners Michael Essien in the heart of midfield for his country. Boateng may not be a high-profile signing but he is the kind of imaginative arrival that was the hallmark of Allardyce's time at Bolton. Having missed out on Steve Sidwell, who has moved to Chelsea from Reading after initially indicating he would move to St James' Park, he also represents the attacking threat that Allardyce feels Newcastle lack from the centre of midfield.

Already acquired him, I do believe. Precontract agreement I think.

Also sounds like Liverpool are in for Lucas, another defensive midfielder.
