8 million euros is a lot for MA to spend on a defender. Reckon colo will be off if this deal comes in. The save on the wages will make up for part of the expenditure.
-
Very surprising, not gonna please the English contingent. Hopefully will knock the wind out their sales.
-
Appears to be a cracking player. I hope we could get this one over the line.
-
that would bring our net spend this January to £7m give or take £1m (providing we got the £7m for demba)

Joey Barton confirmed on twitter, great news

How good is marveaux on that site!

I'm sorry, as much as they appear negligent this is a load of bollocks. It's simply they thought they can get by on the squad we had. We need to get through this season then learn from the mistakes and deepen the squad. Which in all fairness to the board, they seem to do. Shame they react as oppose to proact
-
Shola looks uninterested and Sammy is seriously struggling. Abeid and bigi seem to be doing ok. Obertan does not look fit. COMPLETE SHAMBLES
-
Hopefully see remi streete and adam campbell at some point in the match
-
Apparently passed the medical with the highest scores that they do... Very promising

Is he pricing himself outta a move? Only a very attractive offer will take him away it seems.

What killed us, apart from atrocious defending, was the change in shape/tactics. Taking a midfielder off for Shola and pushing cissé further forward simple further exposed our flailing defense. I can understand pardew's thought process, however it was a bit narrow-sighted. This is supported by the fact we shipped 3 (nearly 4) since the substitution in the 82nd minute. Also would like to note Simpson was woeful. This man should be backup at best. Was simply going through the motions (struggled doing that as well) yesterday. However I don't think its all doom and gloom, there were positives to take out. It's how we react now that is key.

Maritimo v Newcastle United --- 20/09/2012
JoCo85 replied to Christmas Tree 's topic in Newcastle Forum
I though gosling put in a good shift. Did a lot of closing down, didnt do much wrong, which is an improvement on previous showings. -
Big fan of the guy, never seems to be an ounce of trouble, and is prolific against the mackems add to that he's converted every competitive penalty...what's not to like!

Who is the most underrated player in the PL?
JoCo85 replied to Lake Bells tits's topic in Newcastle Forum
Underrated, i'd agree with the osman shout, I also think with the right players around him Franco Di Santo is gonna be pretty decent this year. Overrated people like Milner and Gareth Barry, but the one that takes the cake is Theo fucking Walcott, if he didn't have pace I wouldn't even pick him for my Sunday team -
That's his big brother fella
-
I think santon is good going forward and on the ball, and most of the time does well defensively, struggled to cope with hazard yesterday, still he was by no means shit yesterday. He seems to second guess himself which causes himself problems. Still think he is quality. Danny Simpson did alright yesterday, better than he did against spurs anyway. However his crossing is shit gets it in the right area, but floats the fucker in if he flattens the cross out could be more effective. Cabaye and cissé look to need match practice, still a decent performance against a very good chelsea outfit. Roll on Thursday!
-
To be fair 3 games in a week, first half we were shit however looked very comfortable in posession... Felt we were growing into the game, then came the penalty. Santons body position was shocking there, Anita didn't need to make the challenge, still I think both played relatively well. Anita was still running at the end (didn't he play 90 on Thursday?). 20 months ago that would've been a nailed on 5-0. I see far more positives here. Reckon we'll get three points in the corresponding fixture. Cannot overstate how key HBA will be this season.
-
I'd have him back, think he is unplayable when he is on his game. I'd only be worried about the dressing room harmony, but hopefully it won't be too much of an issue.

Totally agree, however if such a clause exists (possible but improbable) we would be well and truly in the driving seat. We can undercut any other bid by a good 20% and wave the sell on fee. Or if Liverpool get the their asking price of £20m that would give us £5m, the quoted price for Douglas. As previously stated, would be win.
-
I saw that, he was going for it as well, as if he was saluting every German individual in that team within the timeframe he was on screen.
-
Apparently there is a 25% sell on clause. Whether it exists or not (or on profit or proceeds) god knows. Win win situation if it does.
-
Our bid is worth more than west hams anyway providing we did bid 13m and the 25% clause exists
