"A reliable Newcastle information source is tonight suggesting Alan O'Brien's move from Newcastle will not be completed. It will come as a surprise to many toon fans...." Something like the above comments, perhaps

We seem to have gone from a gobshite, to a mouse, to a football manager!!

No one has came out and given exact figures but my understanding is that he can leave this summer for £9m, I'm not sure whether the release clause is still effective in January but the way people are talking it seems that it is. One of the original pieces I read stated that the release clause decreased in stages and it would be January when it would be 'as little' as £9m. All of a sudden, the media have latched on to this £9m figure and said it applied immediately. As you say, no one has come out and given the full facts (they probably never will) so I suppose it's all conjecture. I remember reading the same thing. £12m now, £9m in January. Great stuff I was 'certain' I had read it, but it seems to have disappeared completely now. We obviously read the quality, informative papers: Socialist Worker

Me too. Unfortunately, whilst he has this release clause he has NUFC over a barrel which makes things very difficult. Like Alex says, £4m + Smith does NOT = Owen.

Apparently so. Gudjohnsson would be a strange signing if Martins or Owen left, too similar to Viduka IMO, unless Allardyce plans on playing him as an attacking midfielder in a 4-5-1. I thought we got rid of all the nepotism... Viduka and Gudjonsson similar? Good hold up men with great link up play, neither possess any sort of pace. Wouldn't work IMO. I've never seen Gudjonsson as a player who holds up the ball a lot, rather one who comes from the second row and runs at players. His pace isn't great but not that bad. Two players who have very little in common imho. Gudjohnsen runs at players? When he's played at Barca he plays at the head of their 4-2-3-1 formation where he holds the ball up for the likes of Messi and Ronaldinho to attack, his last season at Chelsea was mostly spent in midfield where his link up play between attack and midfield was excellent. Where you get the opinion that he comes from the second row and runs at players I'm not sure. Because this has been his style of play through most of his career imho? Even at the (very few) Barca games I saw, he wasn't the classic holding centre forward in the mould of Viduka. Are there really more people who think that Gudjohnsen and Viduka are similar players? I've always though Gudjohnson was a penalty box striker and not like Viduka at all.

I was under the impression that Owen's buy-out clause for £9m applied if he went in January; if he went now, it would be more e.g. 11 or 12 m. I'm sure I read that, but I could be wrong (wouldn't be the first time). Can anyone clarify - for certain - what the amounts are, and when they apply ???
-
I wish he's make his mind up. One minute he says 'he will stay', the next he says 'he was going too'!! Sorry, folks, I couldn't resist it

What a mess Mrs Beckham looks. Does no-one tell her exactly how she looks??? I doubt I'll be able to sleep until the tickets are sold - fingers crossed I'll get some

I wouldn't normally quote from Teamtalk.com but figured this was somewhat reliable as it was taken from Manchester news. It looks that Baines will be sold, then. God knows where, though.

First thing you should always do is ask if you can have his watch
-
Will he cut it down here do think? I would imagine so. He's a very good defender. As he has signed for the unwashed, you can understand my bias when I say that his price tag and age suggests otherwise? Reports are that he sent his £70,000 signing on fee to Aberdeen's academy, which is a good gesture I reckon.

Anyone from outside the Geordie area.

Well, admittedly, my colleague who'd just turned it down started his sales pitch to me with the words "How's your gay-o-meter today?" Was your answer, "It's anchored in brown"? Wait til I tell my gay boss at work about this, he's Barbara's biggest fan. And what the fuck is Wacky doing watching a Sreisland Groundforce special ffs? If the Byker massive find out about this you'll not be able to show your face in the Stags for months. Streisand? Yeah, I probably would

Those loooooong ones are more than interesting (could hang your jacket on the fuckers)

TALKsport reported this morning that sunlun had failed in their attempt to sign Baines. (maybe they were told a deal to take him to Newcastle was 'almost complete' )

me am think good. not best good but good good

Silence then? Quite possibly, Sima. But we have absolutely no chance of creating any sort of atmosphere at the moment with the shite they spew out the speakers (I almost typed 'Spackers' there after reading the other posts ) these days

Feel free to suggest music to be played before the game, but can I just point out that my original post was asking for music/tracks that best summed up the new beginning at NUFC. For what it's worth, I wouldn't play any music before the game - I would leave it up to the crowd to create some noise. And only Ska/punk/new wave at half time, nowt else
-
Which was an Anal Orifice article !!
-
Just when NUFC is on the up, we end up getting exterminated by aliens. Typical
-
Well, what comes to mind for a song for the new era at SJP ? The only way is up. ??

How dare you doubt the validty of all the hardcore smog away fans, i'm sure both of them know what they're talking about! True story: Watching MOTD in the 70's - Norwich v Boro. The camera showed the Boro fans and one had a Union flag with 'Champions' written on it!!!!

Bentley stood out a mile when i went to that U21 game. I doubt Blackbum would sell him - unless for silly money which I reckon we are not going to be involved in any more.
