  1. According to talkSPORT (yes, talkSPORT, 2jags) Wembley will be handed over on Friday.
  2. I've addressed Baggios comments before, and I'm bored with them. And Alex - I think people should address my points too. Nobody has, after all this time, suggested anyone better, with more desire, and capability to replace the current group of directors. And nobody has even remotedly conceded that qualifying for europe is reasonably successful, and signifies they must be doing something right, although we all want to be number 1 of which there is no doubt. Shame you say "ridicule" though, because in my view, it is those who think a change of board would automatically be better to be ridiculous. Absolutely stupid, in fact. And they must think this, or they would not advocate a change without naming people, not having a clue who they would choose. Especially a hedge fund running the club. So in order to criticise, we have to be able to predict someone who can guarantee success? Should fans have to do that for directors, manager and players from now on? What a shite argument. Perhaps people haven't addressed it because it's not their job? I don't know the plans of many business men in this world tbh, do you? Exactly the argument I made a while back. It's not up to us to nominate anyone to take over if we are disaffected with a manager/chairman imo.
  3. they're on a par with liverpool fans tbh To a degree, you're correct. They are beginning to believe a bit of the 'special atmosphere' rubbish at Parkhead. Two examples spring to mind immediately: versus Blackburn and Manure, you could hear a pin drop during both games as Celtic were played off the park. The same bollocks is spouted about a lot of clubs (Newcastle fans the most passionate/fanatical in the world etc.) but I have to say the atmosphere in the first half seemed to be electric against Milan, didn't see the second half so can't comment on that. Very true. The fact is that when things are going well, football club fans come out of the woodwork and 'have always been there' and support their team all over the place. As soon as things go pear-shaped the soopafans fall away again.
  4. Is the stadium not open at full capacity with what’s happened recently in Italian football? Don't piss on me bonfire I was going to wind up my Celtic mate something rotten after finding out how many fans were going:icon_lol:

  6. I am a tad disappointed with the 'tic fans. Only 10,000 are going to Milan Correct me if I'm wrong, but I am almost certain that NUFC took 12,000.
  7. Maybe not you, personally, but then I don't actually think you are "everyone". By quoting me I thought you were suggesting I was contradicting something I'd previously said. Show me the link. [skyboy] [fuckwit] [etc etc]
  8. Correct. The newsreader on talksport was almost cuming in her knickers telling us that it is a Bugatti whatever-it's-called IT'S A FUCKIN' CAR FFS AND AND EXTREMELY HIDEOUS ONE AT THAT! I remember when Stephen Hendry said he bought a Ferrari and sent it back shortly afterwards 'caus he felt a right twat driving around in it. Respect Stephen, respect.
  9. Seconded. Come on Barca. Somehow, I expect a slight 'special european night at Anfield' wankfest on telly th'neet Brian Moore commentating at St James' Park the night we played Barca: 'I've never known an atmosphere anything like this...'
  10. I'll probably be going to both. Thursday - I can't decide whether to pay by credit card, go to SJP or just pay on the night. Citeh - waiting for the public sale.
  11. Martins has leaped like a salmon for a few hasn't he? Yes, from what I have seen, the expression everyone uses of him leaping like a salmon is correct. However, from what I have seen, the leaping has been done around 20yds from goal in an attempt to......well someone else will have to tell me as I'm not convinced he, or anyone else, knows what the plan is there. What I was referring to is the cross into the box, which Milner is attempting, that a classic British CF would have loved. A classic CF that would fight his CB opposition into getting his nut to the ball first. I just don't see Martins bullying a CB a la Woodgate or Pogatez (sp), or any other CB for that matter in or around the penalty spot.
  12. These hoofs up the park by Bramble can only be sanctioned by Rodders imo. And as to Milner trying to beat his man and get the cross in, what is the plan there? So Oba 'the leap' Martins or Keiron 'Toshack' Dyer can get a header in at goal??? Do me a favour
  13. Your putting a ridiculously positive spin on it in that last paragraph. Roeder did well last year, but that was partly down to the new manager effect and a lot of help from Shearer imo. Things have been much worse this year. We are NOT going to qualify for Europe, not even the shitty UEFA cup. Getting to the quarter finals of the UEFA is NOT a significant achievement. We are out both domestic cups, getting beat 5-1 by a Championship side at home ffs! We are 6 points above 16th in the league, in what must be the worst Premiership ever. But for me, the telling thing has been the abysmal quality of the matches we have been forced to watch. We're a team of misfits, there is no sense of direction or cohesiveness in the team and seemingly little hope of improvement. I can understand that Patrokles may be unaware of this, but surely you can see it HF? There is no chance that Roeder will be sacked. He's the cheap, easy option and you get the impression Shepherd has burnt all his bridges. For me, this is what is so depressing about the whole situation. What he said. The overwhelming thing that shouts from this thread is one of resignation that Rodders isn't going to take us where we want to go. I can't see Rodders getting sacked - unless we nose-dive next season - but I can see a mutual re-assigning of positions when another manager comes in; maybe Shearer. For what it's worth, I don't think we're going anywhere upwards with Rodders in charge.
  14. Saviour on a Space Hopper (have I spelt Saviour right u ??)
  15. But they're better than what we had pre 1992 so that's good enough for Leazes. Well, the vast majority of clubs in the country with superior clubs will be watching us - again - play in europe this week. Not if they've got any sense they won't! Watch us play a blinder now
  16. haha.....you may be right mate, but what I do know - is - it SEEMED like the whole ground when you were in the middle of it !!!!! And DID i enjoy it ? Oh yes
  17. I have to agree with LM that to get a true indication of a game of football, one should be watching it inside the ground. On tv, the picture invariably revolves around where the ball is. When you're in the ground, you are watching the movement of players all over the pitch - even if the ball is at the other end of the field and because of this, one gets a truer picture of player's desire/concentration/reading of the game/etc etc. Watching on tv cannot give you this true picture. However, it isn't as cut and dried as that. How so? You only have to be in a pub after the game, and the differing views on different players/incidents prove it! Being in the ground doesn't mean that you know all there is to know about the game that has just taken place - only your perception of it. That's why the majority of us wouldn't last five minutes at a football club as our knowledge just isn't up to what is really happening. Finally, I too have a stack of old games on vhs which I watch from time to time and analyze Which is why I know for 100% certainty that only a small percentage (maybe 10,000 at the absolute maximum) of the crowd sang 'Souness for Sunlun' on that winters day at SJP - FACT!
  18. Telewest were always very good at the customer care. Hope this isn't the start of them turning to shit. *blood boils at the recollections of shitness from them*
  19. Fixed your post for you there Champ. Don't the Intertoto cup winners automatically qualify then? Unless I'm mistaken, direct entry into the Champions League.
  20. Because he was both foreign and cost £8.5m, I KNEW he was going to be the new Bobby Moore.
  21. Post of the week. Possibly post of the month!!
