as said, hes in that awkward gap of being a stellar player in the CCC but not quite being good enough for the PL. he frustrated me playing for us this season, despite the pace and trickery he is capable of he seemed out of his depth against any PL left back and was reluctant to ever get to the byline.

in theory thats true, that last two seasons wouldn't have happened had we not been relegated in 08/09 but thats as far as I take it, you can't say it wasnt nice to win all the time in the CCC and I don't think Id have enjoyed 6-0 v villa or 5-1 v sunderland as much if we'd had a better 08/09

spot on for me that Chez, I agree with HF to an extent too, the board has stagnated slightly recently with a lot of the same old stuff in every single thread most of the time just depending on who posts in there first.

that! that a thousand times over. for a long time there has been practically no pundit, commentator or anything like that who I've had any time for, beyond the likes of stelling and Kamara (and thats not really for their football insight) I used to think it was just because they were all dinosaurs but the new school are no better frankly, ray wilkins isn't bad on that front he just needs to cut out being so damn biased but he clearly knows his stuff when it comes to the tactical minutia of the game, I don't think any of the rest really do. none that I can think of anyway.

is to mourinho what mourinho was to SBR. he'll do alright I reckon. yes its an ageing squad but its got some decent younger players in it as well as some amazing players right in their prime and of course, plenty of money to spend

I actually agree, I think pardew is alright and Im pleased at how quickly we seem to have come out of the blocks this transfer window. Id add that a lot of anti ashley sentiment Ive seen also comes with this odd belief that there are only two ways to run a club, shepherds or ashleys and there is no middle ground, theres even a poll right on the first page (though I know its nicks so blah)
