I think my parents might actually a few of them at theirs somewhere, will have to dig them out. And yeah, Lee Child is generally a good read. Still can't quite believe that Tom Cruise is meant to be playing Reacher though. Just wtf. Money is crazy.

Mint. Did you watch the Wish You Were Here doc on BBC4 at the weekend? That was pretty good. Wish You Were Here is easily my favourite song by them.

Cheers, will have a look out. I really need to have a proper look through this thread at some point for the thriller writers. Recognise the name Kellerman, but not Dan Simmons. For the ultimate in easy thriller reads, Dick Francis is superb. Each book is basically the same, with essentially the same character and similar sorts of problems. But somehow I find myself completely unable to put them down. Just something about how they are (were) written I guess.

Few random ones. Don't really like Slipknot, but this was on one of the Guitar Hero games and really grew on me: Random nordic songs I've heard on Planet Rock: Plus, Sharon den Adel!

Have you read any Michael Connelly? Pretty decent cop thrillers. Prob quite good/easy for a holiday read.

Got this on PS3, anyone else having problems where it freezes whilst doing the kill cam, and just won't respond? The sound stays on, the perpetual increasing noise that you get for the kill cams, but the screen just stops at a certain point as the bullet is about to hit. Nothing seems to work so have to turn the PS3 off, and cos you can't start at checkpoints, have to replay the entire damn mission. Annoying.

That sounds awesome. Saw them at Reading a few years back (just after St Anger came out) which was pretty good, but then saw them at Wembley just after Death Magnetic which was just phenomenal. One of the most frenetic, crazy energetic gigs I've been to. Quality stuff. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SiKszUWcT_I

Got it yesterday, only started listening to it on the way home from work today. Sounds good so far. Wasn't sure about sticking with the same band all the way through, quite liked the way his other solo album was with the different singers/styles etc, and the Snakepit ones could get a little samey. But I guess its hard to churn out "...and friends albums" using different people. Quite like these so far (other than You're A Lie): Have you listened to the new Joe album? (Can't remember if you are fan or Mr Bonamassa as well?) Oh, and that BBQ album. Dear lord.

Andrew I fucking love the drumming on that at about 8.50-9.00. Just a cracking song/performance. Led me on to: Which had a link to: And I meant to post this one earlier:

I'm a sucker for all that Olympic shit. Got a couple of tickets for athletics, and never thought it would come to my home town (its quite a small place, but then its smack bang in Hunt's constituency, so may have something to do with it), but it may take sodding ages and I'm worried enough about my exam (its a retake, get a nice pay rise and qualify if I pass, serious risk of not having a job if I fail).

Here its the Friday right before my big final exam. Genuinely torn.
