Has anyone watched that Fresh Meat thing on E4? No misfits/inbetweeners, but seems alright.

Gone with Bananaman in the end. Every single idea I've had for a present has been shot down by my brother (she can be ridiculously fussy really) so she is getting vouchers.

Are you in practice or industry? Only asking cos I've got my aca finals in 4 weeks, got me thinking about what to do after my training contract is over. And to be on topic, started second year at secondary school. Was goldeneye out then? If so, that's what I was doing. I was in practice then (qualified with PwC), and moved into industry. It totally depends on the individual tbh, but I would say that if you're remotely happy in practice, then try and stay there at least for a bit to see what you think. The problem with industry is that it's so hit and miss. You can spend years bouncing from company to company trying to find something that you like. Was that pretty much straight audit you were doing with PwC? Do they do ACA at Pwc? I think I really need to throw myself in a bit over the next year, once (hopefully) my exams are out of the way. Our office has just changed massively in the last 2 months, so hopefully it will improve a bit, atmosphere and work wise. Take your point though about industry, and at the moment I am slightly feeling that I'm happy to have a job really.

There are vague rumours of a sequel with De Niro chasing Grodin's son or something along those lines.

What do people use for playing videos? Currently got rock player, which seems to cope in terms of recognising codecs, but often struggles to keep the audio and video in sync. Keep pausing to let the video catch up with the sound, which gets annoying after a while.

Quality. Had thought about Bananaman, but my brother was going to do that. Apparently he's got something else now, so think will go for that. Any idea for good/classic horror dvds though? Apparently she wasn't all that impressed with The Shining or The Exorcist, so that leaves me bang out of ideas for that sorta thing. If she's not careful its going to be a bloody voucher for H&M or some shite like that.

Never listened to these before - I thought they were a lot lighter? Almost pop-like? Anyway, I'm liking this so I'll take a look at these further. Cheers for the heads up. They're not exactly heavy, but they're not pop. Definitely a rock band. Bit more blues influenced than say Airbourne (by blues I mean more british blues rock than BB King!) Have a listen to these: The third one and the one I originally posted are about as light as they go I'd say. The new album has a bit more of a blues twinge in places. Quite like it so far. Very good live. They supported AC/DC on their Black Ice world tour, so saw them first at Wembley (knew their first two albums very well before then), but the sound wasn't great for them. Saw them later in one of the HMV forum type places in London, sort of mid sized rock venue, maybe 1-2k people (ish?) and they were fantastic. (I like them a bit!) Sold. I've grabbed their 3 albums. Annoyingly, the one I really want to listen too I can't find online - the live one. I'll see if I can pick it up in a shop somewhere. Great stuff 412 days of rock n roll? Would have thought that was available.

It's my sister in laws birthday party coming up in 2 weeks, and we have to go in fancy dress and the theme is food. WTF, basically. I'm looking for a cheap and easy option if anyone has any good (or just entertaining) ideas? Also, she's a bit awkward to buy presents for, only real hobby seems to be sorta scrap booking type stuff, but there's only so many times I can buy colourful card and weird shaped scissors and other crap like that. Apparently though, she quite likes horror films, so I was thinking I could get her a couple of dvds. Problem is, I know fuck all about horror, so was hoping for a few suggestions. Apparently thinks things like final destination are shite. Was kinda hoping to get her some proper classic types, but beyond like The Shining I am pretty much stuck. Help appreciated.

The £5315 relates if you are just self employed, as you are employed also then you have to take your main employment into account therefore unless you're a sweatshop worker for Nike, or Deano I wouldnt expect you to be exempt from Class 2 so you're looking at £2.50 per week Class 2 Conts. Basically, as long as you're registered self employed with HMRC then you're fairly covered for the first year, just make sure that you have the money put aside to cover any upcoming tax bill, during that time save every receipt, every electricity bill etc. Its amazing what you can claim as an expense when you start to fill in the self assessment form. Cheers for that, I rang the tax office last night and I'm ok to not pay Class 2 as that's only if I earn £5315 or more from the self employed income... my main PAYE income doesn't effect this apparently which is really good I just have to fill in an exemption form and send it off. My dad was going on about tax exemptions the other week so I need to do what you said and keep all the receipts etc. He said I can claim for things I bought even before I registered as self employed if it relates to the business, so that's something I need to look in to as have spent about £2k on equipment over the last 12 months. Basically the better your records/files are, the easier it will be when you have to fill the damn things in. It may feel like a pain to record everything all the time, but its a lot better to put the time in now than in Jan when you are rushing to try and get it done. Will make your life so much easier and less stressful. As nerdy as it sounds, its probably a good idea to get an excel file going with different tabs for expenses and income, and list things with the date, net, gross, vat and some useful narrative, then you can analyse it out between different categories and by month as you go. Basically all done when you need to fill in SA etc.

Bit harsh that! But I think I know what you mean. They have become a bit more "woooahh" chorusy types. If that makes the slightest bit of sense. First album still prob the best (only about half way through this new one). Thoughts on Black Stone Cherry? Mention them cos I think the same thing has happened to them. Although I did think their second album was almost as excellent as their first, but then I quite like completely by the numbers rock sometimes.

New album out this week. Quality band. Very good live too.

Fair enough, just read like that to me. -

European clubs. He's very young by keeper standards, he's got international pedigree, seems to have a lot of self-confidence (although he's still a bit hesitant at times). As a keeper he's got all the right attributes. Why would he go though? He's just become number 1 for the team he's been at for years, playing in the "best league in the world ©" and he seems switched on enough to know that what he needs now is consistent game time, which he might not get elsewhere. Plus its now been proved to him he doesn't have to leave to get in the Dutch team, so I don't see why he'd have any motivation (bar money) to leave. Anyone have an idea what he is on? -
Not just for the physical (certain bit at the end in particular), but the mental as well. Crazy Koreans!

Got so much on at the moment, I think this will have to be saved up as a reward post exams, but damn does that trailer look good.

Harmless hokum but I like it. Bruce Campbell ftw Harmless hokum sounds good to me, will have a look at it.

Saw them about 15 years ago! Life on a plate was a quality album Back when I was young I thought all 4 of their first albums were quality. Haven't listened to much of it in years now though, think I would have to put Pioneers at the top though. After that it did seem to go a bit downhill.
