  1. The greatest 22 minutes in NUFC history.
  2. Best game I've played tbh, Done 60+ hours on it and havent even done the main quest or the civil war quest just done the theives guild and Dark Brotherhood and now doing the Companions quest. The side quests just keep sidetracking is from doing the main ones
  3. Yes, lets hail Ashley etc for letting us know we wont be getting a striker in ffs He's got us expecting so little of him that some are pleased he's let us know in advance. Next time i wanna take a dump on someones face I'll let them know beforehand and all will be forgotten.
  4. 12 months and we are back to square 1 regarding getting a striker in. So sick of the bunch of amateurs running the club taking us for mugs yet again, it's never ending
  5. Was at the game yesterday and I'm not sure what I'm more narked off about, some of the fans at the game, or the result. Some of the 'fans' around me in the Gallowgate only seemed to be their to get on our own players backs instead of getting behind the team and when Obertan was booed off the field I was ashamed tbh absolutely shocking, at no point should you single a player out for abuse, it'll do him no good at all. No matter how bad a player plays you don't single them out
  6. They've got 2 weeks to appeal and in that time Suarez is fit to play. So in other words a player gets charged for racism and they still alow them to play, until the inevitable Liverpool appeal comes in and then they'll reduce the ban anyway. You can always count on the FA to undermine the policies they've been promoting.
  7. So now it's onto scouting a player who'll kick up a fuss to leave his current club to join us now?
  8. why bother trying to finish higher than mid table obscurity Why don't you wait until after the window closes before whining. They agreed 8mil deal and he failed a medical so why do you think another Striker won't be targeted? Maybe because they had 7 months to get one last transfer window but got no-one, maybe it has something to do with that? Maybe you would have liked Crouch for 10m or Bendtner on 80k a week?? They didn't land their target, they tried and succeeded before this window even opens then he's failed his medical. It's obvious they want a striker and are willing to spend, Pardew has also said a defender too, I don't expect any more than that tho Aye because Crouch and Bendtner were the only 2 strikers available to choose from you utter muppet. They had 7 month, YES 7 WHOLE MONTHS! To scout and recognise a striker to sign, if they really wanted a striker they could have got one in the summer, did they no. Trying is not good enough, the money is there to get one, we're not asking to go and splash £15 to £20 million on a striker but 7 months of scouting should have gotten us a striker. I didn't say they were, I was simply using those as an example of what was around and the costs involved. I would rather the club did its homework and got the right players with the right mentality to fit in with the squad. I fully admit I was dissapointed we didn't get another sooner but BA's ripping it up so someone to compliment him, get Ben Arfa firing, Best is doing well and even Shola has broken sweat a few times. I think our main priority should be a CB then tie up Collo and concentrate on a Striker when that's done We sorely needed a couple of strikers as was proven by the utter crap we had to watch of Shola and Lovenkrands upfront for the last few months of last season, getting Ba was a step in the right direction but was only signed because he was a free, if there was a fee involved there's no doubt in my mind that he wouldn't be here. As said before 7 month is more than enough time to divise a list of strikers to sign, so if we failed with one bid we would then have a back-up plan, but there wasn't one. Now almost 12 months we're still no nearer to getting one after throwing all our eggs in one basket with Maiga to see the deal fall through. All it takes is a bit of planning but it seems the past few windows has been gambled on instead of planned which shouldnt be happening at any club nevermind a Premier league club

  10. I think he was meant to sign for Porto a few year back but failed a medical much like Ba did because of a potential injury

  12. Some people just whinge for whingings sake on here. Just face it, it was one of those games where we were completely unlucky to come away with just a point, no player had a bad game, not even Obertan and for the most part in the first half he looked threatening for once in a while, but single him out because he hasn't been that good this season. Be thankful that we've had to wait 4 month into the season to come away disappointed to only get a draw as last season we couldnt win a 3 o clock home game for toffee. Probably the only gripe that should be made about it is why Ben Arfa didnt come on for Best instead of Ameobi as we needed a change of gameplan as it just wasn't working for a long time and continued up until the final whistle
  13. An honorable mention to Gemmill aswell http://www.toontastic.net/board/index.php?/topic/30038-religion-headed-toward-extinction/page__view__findpost__p__885287 http://www.toontastic.net/board/index.php?/topic/31999-girl-in-racist-attack/page__view__findpost__p__1008480 Don't worry I'm not stalking you......Yet.
  14. Thing is though we are so close, so very close to being a top 7 side who can challenge the clubs for a UEFA cup spot season in/season out with the right approach. 2-3 players signed in the right positions would push us forward (Not massive players signed for big money, but little signings that could make a big difference) but selling Tiote would totally cancel out any potential progress we could make. It's the most frustrating point of being a fan knowing that we are so close, but realising under Ashley we're never gonna take the right steps to get us back to where we should be and where we could be and seeing some people accept decisions that he makes only to keep sh*tting on us as fans time and time again in regards to changing the stadium name to benefit his own company, splashing boards all over the stadium and shifting fans and not having any plan for them to go anywhere else to show us whos boss
  15. If it worked everyone would be selling high and buying low, but no one else does, it's not a sustainable way of performing in the league and it never has.
  16. I would say there is a good chunk left. I would also say some has gone on transfer fees, agent fees, wages, general running costs and maybe Ashley has paid himself back some of the money he loaned the club. I don't really give a shit about keeping track of it. If we sell and we get decent replacements does it really matter if they cost £5m or £25m?? We shouldnt be selling our main players though thats the thing, but Ashleys got some so well trained that theyre already expecting it and it cant go on forever that we sell a first teamer and get a replacement for a fraction of his selling price and turn out as good, if it did the likes of Man U etc would be doing it every season. He's also got some so well trained that i think we must be the only fans eat up that it goes onto agent fee's etc If a team higher up the pecking order comes in everyone sells their players (unless they can afford not to, a'la Spurs/Modric, but even that one's not played out yet as he hasn't signed his new deal) even more so when the players contract is winding down. The clubs have little say. Man U can pay top dollar because they make top dollar with interest and a cherry on top. Their success and income makes them a bad example to use in comparison to anyone tbh. It's not about "training" it's just good old fashioned realism. In recollection though I'm sure Modric signed a 5 year contract last season, so his contract wasn't running out therefore Spurs weren't pushed into a corner regarding the transfer and because they saw him as vital to where they want their club to go so they refused to let him go. Which is pretty much the same situation in which us and Tiote will be in if a bigger club comes calling having signed a 6 and a half year contract (Could be wrong on the length of the contract) especially if we are to build a team and head in the right direction of building a team to compete and the higher end of the table which is where every fan wants us to be. I used Man U as an example because if the transfer strategy worked and was successful of selling top players and replacing them with cheaper replacements, they along with the other European elite would be doing it even if they did have all the money in the world.

  18. There is no real evidence (as yet) of a blatant disregard for "team building". Brb selling our star player and not getting a replacement in the 7 month period they had Brb not signing a back-up CB when one of our 1st choice CB has been injured longer than hes been fit for the past few year Brb only signing replacements and not a few more players to bulk up what little squad we had If thats not disregarding team building, i dont know what is tbh 1, I assume you mean carroll, I would suggest BA was the replacement (Maiga is the supplement) 2, We had a back up centre back and you would hope that the "reserves" would be better. No outcry at the time as I recall, only now that all 3 main CB's were injured at the same time (for one game) is their gnashing of teeth and woe. (Taylor has a history of injury, but it's not like it all related tweaks and pulls in the same area, he's unlucky as he gets major shit happening to different parts of his body - shoulder, nose, achilles). But it's good to have a gripe with the benefit of hindsight. 3. Would suggest the "replacements" are actually upgrades tbh with the exception of Enrique (but he chose to leave). Just like everyone else you can only have 25 plus kids. The team/squad is better than it was last year, that is progress. We have a set budget (within the means of the club) and within that, a major "high profile" overhaul is not possible, getting all excited about some policy that "should" be in place, but would, by definition, need to break the budget, is futile. He is NOT going to change his policy, so all you can do is consider what can be done within that. It was pretty clear last season even when we had Carroll that we needed another striker, and then when he was sold we needed a replacement for him aswell, which became even more clear when all we had was Shola and Lovenkrands leading the line (and Leon Best for a short while) with Nile Ranger our only plan B. I havent been calling for 1st choice CB as I know its not in Ashleys plans to go out and get one especially when we had Taylor and Colo with Williamson as back-up, but we all know that Taylors been out injured for most of the past few years and WIlliamson is a decent back-up. I think everyone knows that Perch shouldn't even be near the reserves nevermind the first team, but what could and should have happened is what I've said a few times on here was to get a young CB for cheap (e.g a type of signing like Bassong) where he there to get reserve games and early round cup games and then if he shows promise to push Williamson for the 3rd spot and possibly 2nd spot in our backline as currently we have no other promising CB's. I never said the replacements arent as good (apart from Barton/Obertan and Enrique/Santon) but the main gripe of it is that our squad is paper thin and beyond the first team we are worryingly thin, which showed in the 2nd half of last season and is being shown now
  19. I can remember Balague quoting that they were about 400 million Euros in debt, that was a year or so ago mind.
  20. Exactly, if you try and play him more disciplined its just gonna have a detrimental effect on how he plays during the game and on the team also. Play him on the wing in a 4-3-3 or as a second striker in a 4-4-2 and you'll get the best out of him
  21. The amount of utter crap thats been spouted on here the past few days has been spouted is like nowt i've seen before. Pardew before the game would have been thinking about the height in our team which is more than likely why Ameobi started ahead of Ben arfa because of his height in defending set pieces and he played well 2nd half against Chelsea etc He'll have went for Obertan as he'll have seen him as more defensively minded than Ben arfa would be playing on the wing, especially in a 4-4-2 formation
