  1. Taverniers a RB btw but it does go to show that once our 3 CB's are injured or suspended there is no youth coming through to displace one of the worst players in the history of football, it does need to be looked at and sorted come January
  2. I've said it before but Onuoha from City would be a good loan signing to tide us over until the end of the season. He isn't even in City's Premier league 25 man squad so they'd have no doubts about sending him out on loan and he'd fit in with Ashleys wanting of hardly paying any money towards transfers, plus City would more than likely cover most of his wages. Or for example the signing of Bassong for us. Why not go and get a cheap, young CB in (I'm not saying he'll turn into what Bassong was like for us) but at least someone who wouldnt mind being playing in the reserves and getting a chance here and there and hopefully becoming a decent fill in when we do get injuries/suspensions etc
  3. Didn't he get like 13 games i CCC? Where none of those matches were defeats.... That's a pretty neat achievement for a CH. Wish I'd seen him play ONE PL game at least before his contract is out, and could you imagine any better chances for him to prove his worth than now? I cant imagine that stat is entirely down to him though he gets chances to prove his worth in training and reserve matches every week and obviously the coaches and manager don't think hes much cop, I'll trust their judgement on this one rather than the fevered imaginings about a diamond in the rough who will appear and take the league by storm. guys shit, deal with it. Yup, IMO people are just clinging to the hope he's good cos hes the only youth CB we've got.
  4. Tbh I didnt think he showed that much promise when he did get a game in the Championship. Seems to me that people are just looking for him to make the step-up because we have no other CB prospect, unfortunately.
  5. Read on FB that Millwall fans were chanting "Wheres your Gary Speed gone" to Cardiff fans at their game at the weekend. Truely sickening if the case mind, hopefully just a FB rumour and nothing more.
  6. Are people really calling for Pardew to walk? No matter how much i dont like him he's doing a mint job and has far surpassed anyones expectations this season of what we could achieve. If he walked we'd be well and truly buggered.
  7. Don't speak out of turn, myrhh. Me brother was a blade of grass once in a play, sometimes its just too easy for me being the better brother
  8. Not sure what you mean by that. If we win, then it shows we have depth but if we lose, we lack depth? Yet the depth of a squad is not affected by a result. I think you mean its a test of the quality we have in depth. In which case i agree. We could be playing our 4th and 5th Choices at CH, with the added likely disruption to the full back position(s), plus our 3rd choice holding midfielder. When you get down in that area of a squad it would be a challenge for anyone. It's a test of the squad to a depth you would rarely ordinarily get to tbh, you're basically playing your 4th choice "heart of the team" how often does that happen. Our 3rd choice CB is shite though. As a 3rd choice, he's not. We thought our whole defence (as a unit) was likley to be shite before the season, events proved otherwise. Either way the 4th and 5th choice CBs are full-backs which is unforgivable imo. Especially when money was available from the Carroll windfall. I wouldn't expect you to agree like but I reckon most would. Unfortunately the striker "search" was on the forefront of everyones wish list so it masked the need for cover in other positions
  9. Happens all the time when Guthrie plays. Cries of how shit he is, how damning it is on our depth of quality in the squad if we're forced to play him then a few games in everyone's pleasantly surprised at how his performances are perfectly fine. Gosling needs matches and time - showed promise at Everton and still has plenty of development to come. Exactly, he got games at Everton and scored a few aswell, but since he hasn't played much people want to place him in the crap category, when we've got to remember hes only 20 (I think) and came back from a long term injury. He's also got 2 of the best CM's in the Prem ahead of him
  10. Theres just nowt special about him that would make you think he's worth £20 million or ever will be worth £20 million, he's just got no standout traits or abilities apart from running about with a massive jaw. Downing who i thinks a decent player definitely hasnt lived up to his £19 million price tag, theyve got nothing out of that deal yet, although i do think he'll come alright but Carrolls form relating to his price tag has totally overshadowed wahat a total non-event those two signings have been for Liverpool
  11. I honestly dont get how anyone in their right mind would spend £20 Million on him. We robbed Liverpool of £35 Million for Carroll but thats cos he actually has potential and can go onto to be an amazing striker. To me he's one of the worst CM's in the Prem, he's got absolutely nowt about him, I'd rather have Karl Henry he's that bad.
  12. Not sure I get why people are already judging Gosling already especially after the lack of gametime he's had and after coming abck from a long injury, people are too quick to jump on someone for being crap, just give them a chance.
  13. Shame has played pretty well over the past few games he's been in and havent been missing the presence of Tiote as much as i thought we would
  14. He's absolutely pap Henderson, I've never seen a more average player in all me life, he does absolutely nowt
  15. I bet Henderson and Downing are loving that Carroll getting a load of stick to take away from their utter crap performances theyve been putting in
  16. He's alright according to a few Mackems I know, plus your not gonna get a better option than him for basically nowt as I'm sure City wont mind a small loan fee and paying a majority of his wages as their basically paying him to just play for the reserves, plus it'll be minimal outlay on Ashleys part and he can play full-back too.
  17. Surely we've got other CB's from the reserves/youth squad and not just Kadar? If we are to go for a CB in January it'll either be a loan signing in which i wouldnt mind Onuoha coming in from City who isnt even in their Premier League squad or it'll be a young foreign player much like when we signed Bassong as in someone who wouldnt mind being a bench player and can grow into the team when he's here, because other than those two possibilities were not gonna fork out money for someone to be back-up and you wont find many good players who are happy bench warming.
  18. I got stuck with some owld bag who i divnt like and we've gotta spend a tenner aswell I'm hoping i'll find some crap in Boots or whatever for her cos ive nee idea what to get her
  19. Ultimate Teams just an utter waste of time unless you get mint players in packs. I get more frustration out of it than i do enjoyment
  20. Obertan put in a decent cross aswell when he took on Cole(?) and pulled the ball back to the pen spot, but no one was arrived on it and the fans still got on his back even though it was good wing play tbh
  21. I don't think he was that bad tbh. A number of times he was left by himself with no option to pass to or anyone helping him out drawing a Chelsea player away from him, it also didnt help the crowd was on his back over everything he done.
  22. I quite fancy France to come out on top after it all tbh
  23. I think it'll probably be between Gosling and Sammy who Pardew starts the morn. If he brings in Gosling he'd probably go with a 4-3-3 with Obertan and Ben Arfa on the wings, and having 3 in the middle would help us out a bit more defensively if Ben Arfa isn't giving Taylor the cover he'll need. If Sammy comes in it'll just be basically the same formation we played against City, plus with him being left-footed it would mean he'd be able to get at Bosingwa instead of having to keep checking back on his left.
  24. Hopefully once we play Chelsea it'll stop the bullsh*t about how easy a start we've had and had it easy this season
