  1. As has been said, it's from FIFA ffs. How good/how fun to play as the team is on the game is the biggest factor in a lot of peoples choices. My 'favourite team' was down as Valencia for a couple years when they had Silva and Villa, cause I often played with them so it was quicker to get into a game that way. If next year Chelsea are rated lower than Tottenham then the numbers will swing dramatically in Tottenham's favour, you really can't take anything of much meaning from this.

    Polygamy

I've seen it in at least two documentaries.

I think there's something about us instinctively that makes us monogamous. It's common in animals too, just the best way to ensure survival of your young I guess. Who's the Dawkin's of toontastic for a decent explanation?
  4. Q. Which World Cup winning country has the smallest population?
  5. I think Cleverly and Rodwell are both injured too. Agree with the principle though, shame that those 3 are out really. I think Lampard can still be useful, he was effective against Barca in the semis. Worrying that for a tournament which everyone agrees should be developmental I can't think of a decent young alternative after those 3 to take though.
  6. Normally I would think if it's been stretched out this long it isn't gonna happen, but the Cisse deal showed we'll go back in for a player if the price is right.
  7. We had a group of players capable of winning a tournament, it's just that each World Cup there are 5-6 other teams that have as well. Beckham, Scholes, Campbell, Ferdinand, Ashley Cole, Lampard and Owen were all players in the top 3 in their positions in the world at some point or other. Just for one reason or another didn't ever really click and maybe some of the other players weren't quite up to the same standard. Lacked a top drawer keeper for a while which hasn't helped, hopefully Joe Hart be able to play as well for England as he has for City. I think Hargreaves was good enough to be part of a World Cup winning 11 as well tbh, think it was 2006 when he was an absolute beast, by far and away our best player that tournament. In other news, if Argentina don't win a World Cup or at a least a Copa America soon with the squad they have at the moment they really will have let a 'golden generation' slip by. *edit* in response to KCG
  8. If he takes Terry and we get knocked out, he'll be blamed for 'upsetting the harmony of the dressing room'. If he leaves Terry and we get knocked out, he'll be blamed for 'not having the man management skills to get them to play together'. Going to make a special effort to avoid any sort of tabloids this summer, they're the worst thing about the whole England situation.
  9. I think I'll enjoy it this year more than most recent tournaments actually. No expectations, quite like Roy Hodgson, and if we take an early exit I'll enjoy watching France.
  10. As a neutral I don't mind because the atmosphere in Munich will be electric and it'll be great to watch, but if it were us who'd got there and the other team have an unearned advantage I'd be a bit pissed off with it. I think they should have a back up stadium for situations like this.
  11. When was the last time we had a chance of 3rd with one game left? Mad season.
  12. Finishing 3rd combined with winning that bet would just be to much to handle though. Would be dead/imprisoned by 6.30pm.
  13. Hard to say for sure though. Ryan Taylor won us some big points at the start of the season which we may or may not have won otherwise. If the derby, second game of the season, had ended 0-0 we might never have gone on that run. Gave us a massive morale/confidence boost that win. Obviously Enrique is the better player and we may have won other points elsewhere, but it's odd how things work out sometimes.
  14. With the striker situation as it is I'd probably take Carroll to the Euro's actually, he's been looking like his old self again recently. Seems to have stormers in the big games too.
  15. How are we with the home grown players rule? If we lose Forster, Simpson and Guthrie are we edging close to the limit?
  16. I think a higher league finish shows a consistently higher level of performance and shows more promise for us to build on than 8th and a cup that, although I would absolutely love to win don't get me wrong, was won by Birmingham last year. Whatever happens next weekend this rollercoaster has probably provided at least as much excitement as a Carling Cup win would muster As a total one off I'd probably say for us 8th and the Carling Cup would edge it mainly because of how long it's been since we won anything, but in Liverpool's shoes I'd prefer 5th.
  17. His forms dropped off a bit recently too, not watched a lot of Liverpool of late but he's looks pissed off at everything happening around him when I have.
  18. There was a lad in my year at school who had been held back two years so was about twice the height and strength of everyone else, used to just swat terrified kids away like flies when we played other schools at rugby. Yaya always reminds me of that behemoth.
  19. True, although with that Savic looking a bit of a dud and Kolo Toure's problems they could've been tempted in Jan for a reliable fix, especially with Colo's contract situation, or just had a shady word in his agents ear for him to wait till summer. He would've turned them down anyway, loves us to much
  20. At least it's softened the blow a bit if we don't make it. Would've been crushing to go third by beating city then lose to Everton on the last day and miss out. Will be amazing just to have a last day with nothing to lose and everything to gain.
  21. Coloccini and Kompany really would make an incredible partnership. The more I think about it the more I'm surprised they didn't try to turn his head. Lescott's decent enough, if a bit unspectacular, but after that their cb cover is pretty poor compared to the rest of their squad.
