Another vintage post, congrats. Can understand Gemmil, mancmag and Dr. Gloom getting dragged into it because Leazes does go hunting for them, but on a day where everyone is saying how they're sick of the same things over and over again and that things need to change, you decide to bait the man further by copying a joke made (much funnier) several hours earlier. If it came to a vote I know I'd rather keep Leazes and clear out the seemingly endless waves of morons that take little nibbles at him all day and then act aghast when he reacts in the exact way as they must have been expecting. He needs to change his behaviour and show a little self-restraint, particularly in regard to the 3 mentioned, but at least he's a character ffs and I wouldn't want to see it come to a ban.

As much as Leazes has periods (teehee) where he seems determined to pick fights and turn every thread into the same old 'debate', at least sometimes he'll contribute something interesting. They probably weren't as good then, but I found Barca so much better to watch a few years ago when Ronaldinho and Eto'o were tearing teams apart. They were nowhere near as good at keeping the ball fr sure, but for the neutral it made for such a more exciting game. This whole 'We're priveleged to see this team in action' shtick is starting to wear a bit thin for me now. Apart from against Leverkusen none of their knock out games this year were really a joy.

Loads have become disillusioned with England because every 2 years since about 2002 we've been ridiculously over-hyped (mainly by the press) and then immediately ridiculously over-criticised and everyone's back to saying we're shite again. It's exhausting. Couple that with there being very few likeable characters in the squad and its easy to lose interest, especially when we're playing pretty dull stuff. However, if we were to get our act together and make it through to a semi or final playing decent football I think (almost) everyone would soon get caught up in it again. Wouldn't hurt if there were a couple of Newcastle players in the squad every now and again like. Shame Shola chose Nigeria Not saying I expect anything other than an early exit from Euro 2012 btw. It's such a cliché but every game really does feel like a cup final now. If we beat Wigan (which I think we will, just think they won't be able to pull off another big result so soon) then we go into the last 3, tough tough games knowing 2 wins and a draw will guarantee 4th (at least!!). Don't think we'll need that many points, but if we go into those games knowing its in our hands I think it'll give the players just that little extra boost. Keep telling myself we'll finish 5th/6th to not get carried away and too disappointed, but can't help feeling genuinely convinced we will manage it now, which is just mad.

Would the SNP allow English members ? As for Scotland, I lived there too for a while, my ex mrs is Scottish and came from a small place. All the locals accepted me, apart from 2 at first, because I am a good bloke full stop and also because I didn't act the big English bloke etc etc and took them all on face value as friends. Some of them see Geordies as different to "English" though, and when they said to me that Geordies were jocks with their brains kicked in I just said thats strange because we think that Jocks are Geordies with their brains kicked in, and we all laughed. Remember reading a month or two ago him saying that on the leg he broke the thigh muscle was almost getting back to the same mass of his other leg. I think it's easy to underestimate just how long it can take someone to get back to complete fitness after such a horror injury, it's not as simple as 'Oh if he's fit enough for the bench, he must be fit for anything'. Also psychologically at times he looked a bit nervy when he first came back. Certainly not like that any more.
