tbf, unless you're slightly dead inside, there's no way you can't enjoy belting out a bit of Paradise by the Dashboard Lights when you're three sheets to the wind -
Go find a HMV or somewhere with the consoles out so you can have a good feel of the pads and see which you prefer, not a lot between the consoles but I much prefer the Xbox pad. Makes more of a difference than you might expect. Games wise there's little difference between them really as most games seem to be multiplatform these days, but have a look on metacritic at the top rated games for each of them and see which has more exclusives that take your fancy. As said though, if you haven't got BR player yet it might make more sense to kill two birds with one stone.

I do love the Beatles, but I can certainly see why so many people don't. I think a lot of people (not necessarily the ones saying they don't like them on here) base their opinions on some of their most famous singles, rather than their individual albums. If you take the time to listen to each of their albums (all are up on youtube in full) in order then you can really appreciate how much they grew and changed as musicians, and there are some real gems among the lesser known stuff. Saw a good piece of writing that hit the nail on the head once, it said that due to to the saccharine sweet nature of a lot of the most often played Beatles hits and their familiarity, it's hard to hear them without feeling like your listening to a nursery rhyme. You could put Humpty Dumpty between Yellow Submarine and When I'm 64 without it feeling out of place. -

Deal with it. -
Quality vid. Trying but probably failing to not get too cheesy, if I get to his age with a fraction of his achievement and retain that level of humilility and appreciation for those around me then I will consider my time a life well spent.

Back in the 90's I was, let's say, way too cool for school, and was a fan of neither Blur nor Oasis. Now, due to boredom, I recently (30 seconds/now ago) listened to a YouTube artist playlist of each and have to say I found quite a lot of songs, I'd either never heard before or ignored due to my semi-hipster bias and very much enjoyed a lot of the material now all of the subtext had been stripped away by the ravages of my own aging. So, any bands/acts you initially mocked then eventually grew to begrudgingly/non-grudgingly enjoy purely for the music? I would, despite my loathing of the Mamma Mia phenomenon, have to throw my beautifully Arien ABBA hat into the ring as well.

I agree that there are more important things happening in the world that should maybe be more important to us than this, but papers will always go with what sells. And for the majority that happens to be celebrity and scandal.

Currently considering terminating my girlfriends contract, and while looking back at my previous clumsy, embarrassing or downright rude attempts at nice amicable break-ups I was wondering what stories the tt heartbreakers had to offer. Fire away.
-
Cba reading everything, but that IS dealt with more seriously than the Terry affair. Heard 'There's more important things they should be focusing on' from quite a few people, but what does that even mean? The papers might have Terry all over the front pages, but that doesn't mean it's getting more police attention than serious crimes, it just means its getting more media coverage. So saying theres more important things they should be throwing the book at is a bit of a nonsense as it isn't the police that have chosen to make the Terry affair a huge case (larger than rapes, killings etc), it's that it happens to be what people are interested in reading. And i don't think you would find many people that would say its more important than those cases. And while those cases are worse, it doesn't mean cases like this should be ignored. I don't think littering is as bad as car theft, but if some knob's fly tipping fridges I'd still like him to be charged AS WELL AS the local car thief.

Again, if I'm not particularly interested in what someone has to say, I simply won't write to them

Tbf I'm sure he can handle it, clearly loves these 'debates' when they get going. You wouldn't get this in any other media than a forum btw. A guy and some people that find him immensely irritating, spending their precious time on this Earth writing to each other for years on end. You wouldn't get this shit with pen pals.

Cartoon of the day. Decent.

Anyway none of my business, just seems unnecessary.

If it was, he could have just stopped posting while at work. Wouldn't matter if he was starting a new job and he had 50,000 posts about white supremacy, unless he logged in at work they wouldn't know.

Does seem a bit silly tbh, whatever job you have I can't see them scouring toontastic to check for anyone who happens to share your first name. And if they did, like you say you're always revealed after about 10 posts anyway so the change in username doesn't seem to be of any benefit whatsoever :/

Film/moving picture show you most recently watched

We have a winner! Great film and has done that rare thing of being quoted and parodied to a ridiculous extent and managing to remain very watchable. -

Without googling, which was the last film to win the 'Big 5' Oscars (best director, film, actor, actress and screenplay)? Was a question on The Chase today. 5 precious TT points to the winner. -
Was it a golden boot bet? Torres actually does win it because he has the same amount of goals but more assists, they said on the commentary but obviously you wouldn't have heard if you were in a pub or whatever.

This 'Get rid of the old guard because had their chance and failed' reaction by some people is nonsense btw, as long as they're still better than the other options players like Gerrard and Terry have to be in the team. Some people even saying we Rooney should'nt play for us again ffs. The majority of that team were relatively new to tournament starting line ups anyway. Also no point just having a whole team of youngsters as they'd get destroyed, which would probably be more damaging for their development than anything. Took approximately 30 seconds after we went out for someone to start saying how obvious it was that Adam Johnson, Richards and Joe Cole (!) should have been taken and Roy is a retard. I hate football fans sometimes. Glen Johnson massively impressed me. Oh and people saying it would only be Bale if we did what Parky's suggesting, only Bale would be enough to make it worthwhile. 1 or 2 high class players could make all the difference, swap Young for Bale last night and it could have been a different story.
