Generic small time football blather thread FOREVER
Andrew replied to Sonatine's topic in Newcastle Forum
Cheap, homegrown, can deputise in a couple of positions and perhaps is well liked around the dressing room. Worth keeping a bit longer. -
THANK YOU! Having posted the video I didn't think I could also do the joke.

If not Nunez then who?

I guess the hope is that we'll be competing on more fronts, actually making a go of the cups and next season in particular is going to be really weird schdeuling-wise because of the world cup.

Theres a lower premier league or championship level player in both of the longstaffs imo, with a bit more proper coaching we'll see that. That makes them useful in the squad and saleable assets down the line. Now that the club are going to be bothering the FFP line rather than being as far from it as possible that makes a difference, the Longstaffs cost nothing to produce as far as FFP is concerned, if we can get PL transfer money for one or both of them (more like championship for matty I think) then it is just a free top up of that budget. Its exactly what City do and it is exactly what we should be looking to do, you skim the very best off the top and get a talent like Foden if you're lucky and the rest get some high level coaching, some loans or cup appearances and then they go and make you money when they leave.

That happened every time we played the big teams under Rafa too, it is just down to pundits not knowing how to make actually analysing football interesting or exciting, rather than just replaying goals and saying how good a finish was. -

What fucking planet is he on? It’s been the preface of every single but of praise I’ve seen, heard or read us get since we turned things around. every game, every match of the day, every podcast and every article. Has someone decided not to bother and it’s upset the dickhead. I love him claiming he’s not a Man U fan in the follow ups btw, fucking coward, osasuna and bray he says aye right. -

In a VERY similar vein, the guardian published this relegation battle rundown today and apart from their everton correspondent being the only one picking everton to not go down, there isn't anything resembling actual criticism of Lampard anywhere in the everton breakdown, its pathetic. Lampards had three jobs across 4 seasons, Derby, Chelsea and Everton and he is a few weeks from having failed to achieve the goals he was hired to at all three clubs yet there is absolutely ZERO major criticism of him from the sports press. -

They're also talking complete horseshit, the media ALWAYS side with their fans on the glazer issue. -
This would be the Celtic that were beaten out by aston villas steven gerrards rangers last season wouldn't it? The same steven gerrard who has propelled aston villa out of the mire and into the top half of the table...oh wait.

First week back in the gym done, haven't lost a step fortunately and don't feel any ill effects other than my legs still being on fucking fire from Wednesdays workout (its friday night now) but thats not that surprising. Actually hit some PBs today which was nice considering its been a bit since my last proper push day with isolation and being ill and all that. I got a new scale the other week which is one of those fancy shmancy "measures other stuff" ones, I know they're not known for being all that accurate on the body comp measurements but mine were all green and good so they're getting something right

They fucked up signing bruno tbf. Still, hes not at a level we can get if theyre actively after him, hes worked with arteta before too

All the PC is doing is bringing your sources together and sending them out, so not particularly powerful, my 7 or so year old laptop is still perfectly competent at it.

Tesla shirt sponsor next season? -
Piece of piss to setup, especially if you'll be playing on a console, you need a few extra things Mic Camera Capture Card OBS You setup and run the first three into your streaming PC, which will be running OBS to do the streaming. Basic setup would be Snowball Mic, any 1080p webcam (the part of the picture you'll be using is tiny so it doesnt need to be fancy) and an el gato game capture HD.

Hes still that talented youngster who went to man u in the eyes of a lot of old pundits who havent realised that was nearly a decade ago and that he's actually spent his entire career as the "best player" for a lower mid-table premier league side and gets as many goals (at his best) as Chris Wood in a team setup to make him tick. There was genuinely an article before England played Ivory Coast at the end of March asking if Zaha was "the one that got away" from England as if, as a palace winger, he would have ever managed more england caps than he has Ivory Coast ones, which is only 26. Bit part England player (and much better/younger player) Jadon Sancho has 23 caps. Zaha is shit. -
Got my first post-covid session done yesterday and felt surprisingly good, seen a wide range of "working out after covid" advice and experiences online so I was ready to be weak as a kitten and gassed after one set but it was actually alright. Great to be back in after a couple of weeks.
