    Rik Mayall

Shame about Rik. I used to love the bottom series and he was brilliant in drop dead Fred. The good die young and he was a young one. RIP.
  2. I'm willing to forsake his gestures to the fans and put it down to him just playing the banter card, plus sort of showing his allegiance to the mackem cause at the time and getting hyped up over the derby. Having said that, I think we've got a decent player on our hands and for free as well. He's got a good engine on him: he's a 100% player which is what we need regularly, unlike what we saw with a good few players during the last part of the season. Realistically, this player would have cost about 5 million minimum if he had time on his contract. He's a steal to be fair. Some might see it as a step back but I see it as a step in the right direction, as long as we add some flair and the right attacking force, etc, which I think we will. Not a bad start when you consider we have two in before the transfer window is in any swing. I'm looking forward to an influx of signings over the next few weeks. My guess would be another 4, minimum. Let's see if I'm on the mark.
  3. Metalist were a way better technical side than I had bargained for, mainly due to not knowing much about them. They came here and worked their socks off and looked sharp, battled like demons and played some decent stuff. We more than matched them though and we were the better side and should have won the game but for piss poor decisions. The first goal was clearly onside as we all know and the second goal was offside but only by a whisker, yet would have been given in 80% of any matches or 100% if that had been metalist scoring it. For most of that match I'd have sworn that the officials had took a bribe, seriously. Anyway, what's done is done, yet I thought we showed enough in that game to give us an excellent chance to make the last 16. Our major problem in that game was our inability to think sharply when getting into dangerous areas, as for some reason we seem to go clueless with that last pass. Over all, I thought it was a good, solid team performance and for the sake of shit luck, Cisse should be sporting a match ball on the egg cup on his large mantle piece.
  4. I only came on to re-assure you all that nobody will be hit by the meteor today. I'm On the meteor as we speak and I've just finished drilling and I'm about to get out the 9 foot Hollywood nuke to place down the hole, ready for detonation. This will blast the rock apart and it will miss earth. If you don;t hear a bang at about 4pm, the remote detonation has failed , then it's time to poo yourselves.
  5. Ronaldo and Messi both have different attributes, regardless of them both being amazing goalscorers and pitting one skill against the other is hard to distinguish which player could be called the best. If I had to stick my neck out, I'd say Ronaldo pips it because he's done it in England and for his own country consistently, whereas Messi seems to struggle with Argentina in terms of being anything like he is at Barcelona, obviously due to the quality of players around him. Ronaldo by a hairs breadth for me.
  6. The people that should judge Tiote are the players that play against him. Their input will give a more in depth opinion as to whether he's worth anything to the team. I could guarantee you now that if opposition players were asked about Tiotes' worth to our team, they would all say, " he's a terrifying nightmare to come up against, as he will not allow you to settle in a game. The fact that he gets yellow cards for sometimes, stupid looking fouls, is his desire not to be outdone in anything on the field of play, which means, by percentage, him and Cabaye are the most likely to guarantee themselves a yellow as part and parcel of "their" game. I agree we walk a tightrope with him, as his style of combat will mark him out as a ref's favourite as far as bookings go, yet it has to be classed as a necessary evil type of thing, because it's players like him that "overall" prevent us being over-run by the bigger more physical and technical teams. He's been off form this season on the whole, yet he knows, now that he's not a guaranteed starter like he was before and it might make him think a little bit more about the needless tackles he makes when there is no danger. He's a top quality player and would walk into any team in the prem.
  7. I agree that those who don't have solar will obviously see a massive hike whilst those who have will still benefit from their own generated energy and so cutting their own costs against those who don't have it, yet what I'm saying is...although the saving will still look good for you, it will only look good when compared with someone who doesn't have it, yet in time, the bills will be hiked up massively, forcing those who can afford it to do the same as you. Basically what I'm trying to say is, let's assume you save 200 quid a year on your bills as opposed to your neighbour, also assuming you both used the same amount of energy. Now although your neighbour is up in arms over paying 200 a year more than you, it makes you feel good, knowing your panels are doing the job for you. A few years down the line, your 200 a year saving has been whittled away by the power companies hiking it up, so compared to previous bills, you are back to paying the same amount as your next door neighbour did those previous years, while your neighbour is still fuming because now their bill is double what they paid previous, meaning you still save against them, yet the real savings have become pointless in reality if you actually didn't compare them to your neighbours bills. I know it sounds a bit daft but I'm just pointing pointing out how energy companies claw back their money by being sly as fuck.
  8. It doesn't matter what my arguments are, it's my thoughts on any given subject. Why can't people accept that I have my way of thinking even if it 100% opposes theirs. I don't have any issues with people believing what they want to, so I don't see why anyone should have any issues with what I think. People just don;t like to see others go against the grain. Posters are free to choose whether to take part in a topic or not right? Any post I make can be bypassed , it's not difficult.....If someone thinks my ideas are crackpot, then they don't have to respond and just treat me for what they think I am, whatever that is in their mind.
  9. JawD: I'm a sceptic and I have many thoughts on all kinds of things. It doesn't necessarily mean I'm correct on those thoughts, yet it doesn't mean I'm wrong either. The fact that you and many others think I'm a loony for thinking this stuff, I accept no problem because you and many others obviously will stick to your own thoughts. Whether I sound like a helium filled tin foil hat to you or anyone, is of absolute no consequence to myself. It doesn't matter what you all think of me as I can accept it and smile. At the end of the day, they're my thoughts and they can be ignored, argued against or people can spend their time and energy taking apart my social, work, family life to their hearts content. Those who decide to partake, must also be man enough to expect a little bit back. Now I can handle all that. What I can't abide, is being singled out when someone gets frustrated and told I'll be banned or have my posts/topics locked or deleted. I read the rules and I haven't broke any and all I ask is to be treated like any other poster no matter who or how many posts they have "equally". Most of the admin, including yourself have played the game and so have the mods. Granted they have had their digs and can continue to do it at their whim, there is only one person who is taking things a bit too personal and that is Ant. So there you go, I can and will accept anything no matter how bad it is , aimed at me, and people can have fun doing it. I just ask for no bias as Ant is doing.
  10. Ok I probably didn't make myself clear. I didn't say it does cost more in repairs, I said as time goes on, basically it wouldn't surprise me that they will be built to only last a specific amount of time before needing repair, rendering savings virtually zilch. All I'm saying is, the power companies are not there to give people an easy energy ride. What might appear to benefit us, will be took away in massive hikes, rendering anything we supposedly use as green as of no consequence saving wise. At this moment in time, you are saving right? So will many others I assume as it has to appear to be having the desired effect...but the more people that subscribe to the greener energy , the more the power companies will add on to the bills, plus I could see future solar panels being made to break down costing a fortune to replace or repair. That's just the way I see things because I don't think power companies are there to do anyone any favours in the long term.
  11. Won't allow me to see it.
  12. As I've said in the post above Paddock, I'm willing to accept this but I do think it's one hell of a risky carry on in how it's supposed to work. I'm just inquisitive that's all. I appreciate anyone's genuine input and I don't just dismiss anything and everything...I'm just very sceptical with a lot of stuff. I just think how power companies rake in billions in profit and sell on the green way forward, yet there's no way they are there to help people gain while they lose. Can you imagine, if every household decided to go solar power and home wind generation , meaning they could produce 90% of their own energy per year. What you would find is, the power companies would hike up the 10% needed to such a high price, that all the 90% of your own household generation is rendered useless as in cost saving. This is how power companies work whether it's gas, electric or anything else we rely on.
  13. JawD: I understand the recharge carry on as in alternators and batteries, I have no problem with that. I can also understand the frequencies and waves having to be in unison, when I say understand it, I mean I can accept what's said in a certain respect. Basically the solar power has to generate electricity at EXACTLY the same frequency as what's coming in from the grid for it to feed back to the grid, is what I'm understanding, which I certainly can't deny as I'm no expert on frequencies and waves in AC power. At least I've had some decent explanations, which is all I asked for , so I'll accept those for what they are even though sending excess energy back this way seems to be hinging on absolute perfection of wave/frequency patterns between the two energy sources. Anyway, that being said, I still think that there is a con going on, in that what people appear to save won't be any real saving as time goes on as I'm sure with a system like that, it would be prone to breaking down after a few years or even built to break down, costing the householder more in repair costs than the actual saving over time...what's your take on this?
  14. Every game is a worry as any team is capable of upsetting the apple cart on any given day. The atmosphere at most Prem games for all teams has took a nose dive if the truth be known.
  15. The best way to play West Ham, regardless of the old guard coming back in Nolan and Carroll, is to let them worry about us, without specifically going out of our way to close those two players out of the game. Granted Nolan is a poacher and Carroll has obvious aerial ability as well as a threat on the deck as well, yet if we can keep West Ham on the back foot, then Carroll's game will become frustrating. If we turn up and play how we know we can, I think this game is a walk in the park....If we come out half cocked, then we will have problems. I'll stick my neck out and go for a 4-1 win for us.
  16. There you go, two outside meters, which makes perfect sense than one meter being toyed with between solar and incoming grid power. On the diagram I put up, it has two cables (arrowed), one coming from the grid (your household supply cable) and one going to the grid, ( your solar power cable via meter) That to me makes perfect sense. Can you recall if the company ran a separate cable from your house to to your nearest sub station, if so, then that would sum it up for me in how it works.
  17. Well at least you took the time out to have a look through it, so cheers for that.I can understand how the concept is supposed to work in what you have stated but as you say, it's not a cut and dried easy thing for anyone to really understand is it, hence the reason why I asked in the first place , only to have a good few other posters telling me I know nothing and they are experts without giving any answers, which is all I asked. You have submitted an answer and I can't dismiss it as I genuinely do not know for sure how it's all supposed to work, yet the diagram on the site I put up yesterday...that seems to satisfy me with it having a separate meter and cable going back out to the grid meaning one meter bill can be offset by another. As for you seeing people machining plutonium, I wasn't saying you didn't see it, I was saying that what they are machining could be anything told to them. For instance, I could open a workshop employing people to machine lumps of metal and telling them that although it looks like a lead like metal, it's actually Plutonium and they would be machining it under that knowledge. It's extremely possible that many people on this Earth are manufacturing and machining products and not having a clue as to what they are actually really manufacturing. A need to know basis, or, told they are working with some element which is nothing of the sort. All I was saying was, it's possible people are being duped into believing what they do is crucial to an industry that could be nothing what they believe it to be, other than what they are told.
  18. I never said I knew about solar power and called it a con, so get your facts straight Rocky. I said, I'd like to know how it's supposed to go back to the grid ( jump in any time and fucking delete Ant as I'm being repetitive), I then said I think there's some kind of SCAM going on about how this happens. I didn't say solar power itself was a con, Rocky.
  19. I'm hung like a gnat so the gloves would make the holding impossible and embarrassing.
  20. Just letting you know that I'm regular but winter can be challenging with the holding .
  21. I'm calm, I have no issues with this forum in general. Like I said, I can hold my own but I can't against the threat of someone like Ant deciding when and what I can post. I'd rather have my account deleted by asking for it than for Ant to just decide to do it when he's on his rag.
  22. I'm sure it wouldn't be too hard to suss me out if I did come on with another name, plus the admin have my IP address so it's easily checked.
