  1. I am wondering if these signs are being placed in lieu of interest Fat Mike could be charging on his "interest free" loans? Could that be a possibility?
  2. Puma is German. Don't tell your Grandad.
  3. Is she the presenter on sky sports?
  4. Trying to get some exercise now that I can't play football anymore...
  5. DEADMAN, do you have the FIFA games from seasons past? What was Enrique's rating his first season with Newcastle?
  6. Tickets in the US? $40-50? $250,000 extra income for our game versus Bolton? They paid. Probably not that much. My ticket for the Orlando match was 25.00.
  7. Along the Vonnegut recommendations, Breakfast of Champions was a good read as well. After the Game of Thrones ended, picked up the first two books in the series. I have to admit that the television program did a really good job keeping with the story. The books are really well written.
  8. Driving up Saturday morning. Either going to be drinking around Church Street or going to be down at the pubs in Universal. Either way, we will be going to the stadium for tailgating well before the game. What will you be doing? Might be my age but what is that? Is it like dogging in the UK? More of an american thing I guess. Before a sporting event of some type (usually american football, nascar, etc.) you arrive at the venue early. Setup chairs, a grill, and a cooler of beer or other beverage and socialize before the event. There aren't too many pubs in walking distance to the sporting venues over here unfortunately so this is the (cheaper) alternative. It allows for banter and socializing as people will go from group to group. It's a good time. Some take it to another level by setting up tables, games, flags, shade, etc. It started at college level with college (american) football supporters and has created some interesting "innovations" in technology and drinking games.

  10. That's about the size of it. I've checked ESPN, ESPN2, ESPN3 FSC, & FoxsoccerTV shedules and none are listing NUFC. Haven't checked the Latino channels but somehow I don't think they will bbe showing any. I have heard that the Orlando match will be shown on their team's website. I will post more when I hear.
  11. I haven't seen any mention of the matches being televised over here.
  12. We got our tickets for the Orlando match. can't wait!

    Miami

I live up the road from Miami and have heard good things about the Beacon. Getting a hotel on South Beach is probably the best bet. Send a message to toonarmyMIA as he is an ex-pat who lives there now. He would probably be the best to help you out.
  14. Deep. Fried. Butter. Fuck me. Please tell me that is photo shopped. Edit: Chocolate covered corndogs would be disgusting!
  15. Original name was Newcastlebootboy but figured that wasn't appropriate as I wasn't from Newcastle so changed it to Americanmag. Forgot what I was on previous NUFC forums, though.
  16. Wrigley Park in Chicago is another baseball venue with rich history and quirks. They have ivy growing all along the outfield wall and have done for years. Something no other park has. Check it out. Is there a particular ballpark which is considered by neutral devotees (or the average sports watching American) to be 'the home of baseball', in the same way relatable to what Lords is to cricket, and what the old Wembley is to English football. I suppose it would be a close call between FP, WF and the 'old' Yankee Stadium. It would have to be one of the original ballparks. The difference between the baseball parks and Wembley/Lords would be the matches that have been played there. Baseball championships are played in a series format (best of seven) that is split between the two teams competing as opposed to the FA Cup final (for example) playing at the home of football. So if there was going to be a park that had "home of baseball" tag to it would have to be one of the old parks that have the team with history. The Red Sox, The Yankees, The Cubs (although they haven't won as much). Parks that have been torn down that would have applied would be Comiskey Park (Chicago White Sox) or the old Yankee stadium. For the neutral devotee, who was interested in doing a "pilgrimage" of the great parks would definitely put Fenway and Wrigley at the top of the list. The true Home of Baseball, though, would be Cooperstown NY where the game is said to have been created. That is where the Baseball Hall of Fame and museum are located. But there is no professional team that plays there.
  17. I got Peter Withe's autograph when he was at the bar my brother law works in. Apparently he was in Florida for his son's wedding. Not spectacular but not bad for being Boca Raton, Florida!

  19. We don't need to know the w-a-a-a-a-y home!
  20. No, 240 is far more befitting. You are a true grafter! But wake up, man, the people shouldn't be demanding that prancing superstars get 50,000 a week!!! I'm not a Christian (I have no religion) but it reminds me of when the Jewish common people demanded that Jesus be crucified after all he had done was say things like 'rich people can't get to heaven' (Luke 18:25) and had told rich people to sell everything they owned and give the money to the poor. There isn't a funny/clever WTF picture on the internet that does this post justice.
