I thought there was more than a touch of irony about it, and I certainly don't think it was saying this is what happens if you do drugs. Kind of reminded me of those "informational" films the US government released on the dangers of cannabis. 119177 Anyone seen reefer madness?

I'm kind of hoping it will be grossly offensive to christians tbh. Also, I quite liked the Jerry Springer show when it first came out.

It's gross stupidity on her part rather than any malice but when gross stupidity leads to the (completely avoidable) deaths of several others, including young children, I suppose prison is appropriate. I feel sorry for her as well though, although not as sorry as I feel for the victims and their families, obviously. 119171 It's an interesting one. Presumably she's unlikely to do it again, so according to Rob's logic, she should avoid prison. Also, if she had been stopped by the police before the accident, what sentence would she have received? Presumably it should be the same.

Even for a veggie, that's bland tbh. 119132 Well, you're the expert 119140 Mods, Alex is being a bitch to me again. Have a word please. Anyway, I admit cheese and pickle is beaten by snakehips's banana effort in the bland stakes. And the pure unpleasent stakes. Btw, the 85 quid sandwich has 2100 calories in it, so will be perfect for Gemmill (allegedly). 119144 Botter 119166 Rabbit felcher.

I've just bought some tickets to see this in the Theatre Royal. I don't have a clue what it's about apart from some goodish reviews - any opinions? Also going to see Edward Scissor hands the ballet next week there. The tickets were a gift but Jesus wept! How's he going to catch her? Dead cultured me like.

Well there's no mention of that [stolen car] and there is the fact she is a nurse of 25 years standing. Do you think she should face prison time Rob?

I've only had a drink on half a dozen of occasions since New Year in a bid to lose weight and get fit. I tend to avoid pubs and drive back straight after the match which is a bit boring. Mind, not feeling ill the next day is a huge reward. Giving up completely for a whole year must be hard. The worst aspect I find is that when you do go out people tend to pressurise you into drinking when you just want to stay on the J2O. It doesn't seem to socially acceptable not to drink in Newcastle.

I dunno, he disappears on page 10, scared he's the victim of a police sting, then comes back on page 60 to question whether anything's gonna happen. 119095

So, is anything interesting going to happen on this thread now, or has it well and truely jumped the shark?

*shakes head in dismay* Jimbo, Jimbo, Jimbo. From the front of a ship, the front! 118747 the BOW man!! THE BOW!!!!!! ships don't have fronts FFS 118750 You're gettint far too nautical for me, man! I only went on Tynemouth boating lake a couple of times as a kid 118752 Cullercoats Boating lake FFS 118764 Behave! Tynemouth boating lake. 118768 Cullercoats 118775 That's wrong, it's called Tynemouth boating lake! Cullercoats starts at St Georges church. I was walking past there on Saturday as it happens - it's been taken over by charver sea gulls. Don't look at them the wrong way or they'll have you...... 118780 LOOK man !!!! Historically it's Cullercoats Boating lake FACT When HenryVIII beat the shit out of the priory at Tynemouth in 1539 he kept the site as a Royal Castle. As part of that plan he annexed the boating lake from Cullercoats so he could keep his supply of swans there in case he had visitors for tea. He also used it for ducking witches as it was less strenuous than hauling them all the way down to King Eddies Bay The boating lake had belonged to Cullercoats since before the Saxons came (200-300ad-ish), Even the Vikings couldn't take the lake from the Cullercoatians, by the time they'd hauled their dragon-ships up the dunes and over the road onto the lake they were knackered and no match for Ye Olde Cullercoats Swan Pedaloes 118808 Nice try.

Considering that Everton qualified for the CL last year in the same circumstances, if it was NUFC in that 4th position, I'd be well fucked off and want to know why it's OK for one club but not for the other. I'm one of the last people on this planet to defend Spurs, but that's just totally fucking unfair - you can't have a rule for one club and a totally different one for another. 118783 Bollocks Craig, last year there was a loophole which was unforeseen. This year they have closed it in advance so everyone knows where they stand. Are you suggesting that the rules of the competition should never change? 118791 Not at all, but the situation is absolutely identical (something they obviously didn't think would happen). How would you feel if it was NUFC in Spurs' position having seen Everton being allowed into the competition only 12 months previous. It should be 4 guaranteed places plus the current European Champions should they finish outside the top 4. 118794 I don't agree - 4 teams from one country is more than enough. As long as people know in advance, they can't cry about it afterwards. Last year the situation was unprecedented and the solution was botched - how can UEFA fairly prepare for the possibility of an extra team? The same thing crops up every year with people whinging how unfair the play offs are. If you don't like it, ensure you qualify for automatic promotion.

I couldn't believe my luck as she started sleeving the porcelain totem pole. Phnarr, phnarr.

I have always thought that the Union flag was ugly as sin from an aesthetic point of view. However, it's better than these efforts!

Not sure about that. I broke my leg skiing once.....
-
Aye, spurrrrs'll be canny miffed if they pip arse to fourth then arse take the place back off them by winning it. lol! 118759 That would be truely hilarious! Couldn't happen to a nicer club either (shame about Everton last year too).
-
That's one more than most of us!

Skiing at his age? People in their 70s can break bones getting out of bed!

Next season we'll do a "Tottenham" then? No UEFA Cup, no FA Cup and no Carling Cup....but we'll qualify for the CL - Money or trophies? 118718 since we've had bugger all of either I don't really care TBH 118729 You don't care if we win a trophy or not? Hmmmm.

I'd say home games against Fulham, West Ham, Boro, Blackburn & Charlton have cost us more. (11 dropped points against those 5 teams) 118714 I'd say it was Souness that cost us, end of story. Be interested to see if NJM agrees.

The mackems are going to relegate us? Seventh probably isn't going to be enough for Europe anyway, is it? 118690 Yes, I re-read that and realised my mistake. I meant us relegate them. Look, I'm busy, men can't multi task.... 118692 I would love us to relegate them. But it looks like ManU will do that for us......
