Well, politics is somewhat subjective so I'll let you off. You might be right about quantum physics/mechanics if you even think you understood it.

Never understood the obseesion with Benn. A silver spooned toff, never had to practice what he preached. He lived an incredibly priveliged life style, he would have thrown up if someone asked him to eat beans on toast. 1982, Michael Foot. The labour left had their chance, then and under Corbyn. Both times utter disasters. I don't want Marxism. I want a scandinavian style of socialism and capitalism. A country that is fair and works.

Yeah, I think you're right, they actually downgraded it when the Azumas entered service. And iirc there are/were (?) issues with them even running under wires north of York. Agreed, pathetic.

This. I'm pretty reliant on IMDB nowadays. You've got to adjust it acordingly to how much you like the genre, so Avatar and most that Marvel shite wouldn't even be on the radar. But it gets most things about right. My cut off is nearer 7 like, but unlike CT I have standards.

They're GRAPHIC NOVELS. Waaaaaaaah!!!!!!!

Moving on to Braverman's quasi-fascism today, this thread sums up why she her rhetoric is entirely meaningless in terms of actually improving things. Worth a very quick read.

Put my nerd hat on here, that's a daft map. If they're defining high speed as >140 kph, most of the UK should be on it coloured blue, certainly ECML, WCML (both 240 kmph) and GW, probably a host of others. But most of France, Italy, and Spain, probably Germany too, are actually >300 kmph. Anyway, the failure of us to deliver this is just a symptom of the failure of a country. The North will enter the 22nd century with Victorian railways. London though, not so much with HS1, HS2 (albeit only Acton to Birmingham), cross link, and cross link 2. What is even the point of the North of England to these cunts? WHat fucking idiot in the North would vote for them? Reminds me of.

Trump 10 points ahead of Biden according to an ABC poll. https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2023/sep/24/washington-post-abc-poll-trump-10-points-over-biden It's an outlier, it may be unrepresentative, but its fucking worrying nonetheless. Can't just discard it because you don't like the result, that's what Trump does. Forget who wins in 2024. The very fact Trump can poll this high means the US is fucked imo.

It's amazing how they develop this visceral hatred to people connected with NUFC who I genuinely scratch my head how you'd ever hate them. Howe is as balanced as they come as a manager. They absolutely detest Callum Wilson now for instance, looking at their players they hate the most thread (mostly connected to us). I dunno, kid from a broken home, great work ethic, handsome bastard with a cheeky smile, Sir Les mk2 essentially, an inspiration for kids. I mean, I am assuming they don't hate Sir Les cos that would be really, really weird.

There's more. Almiron scored in the 68th minutre. Isak scored in the 87th minute. B Guimares: B looks like an 8 8otman scored in the 35th minute: 3+5=8. Dan 8urn has approximately 8 fingers.

Yeah, you're right, likesay. In the book he also referred to evryone as being a cat - like Begbie was an evil black panther etc. Sickboy was just straight up schemie Ediburgh accent although his thoughts were internalised as Sean Connery. Btw Alex, read my last Welsh book on your recommendation I think, Maribou Storks Nightmare. Was barry, eh. Lovely ending.

High risk strategy for Sammy this. You kinow the rules, we lose this, you lose your first match posting rights. You know, maybe you should have left it to a newbie like CT. I dunno, two weakened teams, but at home. How are the ticket sales? IF we do get passed them this is our best chance of silverware.

What people don't seem to get also it's its not just capapcity on the Manchester-London line, it would release capacity on the conventional lines to improve local rail as well as freight. Nothern Power House won't work without it. HS2 was only ever going to be cost effective with the whole "Y" set up as planned. The Leeds line would have served Nottingham, Sheffield, Leeds (all directly), and York, Newcastle and Edinburgh. Once that was scrapped the project made little financial sense. By scrapping the Manchester connection, it is now a complete waste of money. And the irony is a lot of the sunk costs was due to having to burrow tunnels through fucking fields to appease tory seats. They are now going to have about 3 trains per hour going through them rather than the 20 envisioned. Yeah, yeah, I'm a nerd. But if this doesn't tell you something about how our long-term politics are fucked you're missing the point (not you ewerk).

Good news for us if true of course but a part of me is a bit disappointed I won't see him play.

Is that Beresford? Only time I've been to Brammall Lane was yonks ago, we were in the shit relegation wise but beat these 2-0 and survived. Might have been under Roeder, I forget. Anyhow Beresford was at the hotel where we were staying, had a brief chat, he seemed canny (just another middle class piss head to him I'm sure). Stayed in Sheffield for a couple of days, came back straight to a home game met the toon posse at the Trent, where Alex ripped the piss out of my gifted tat toonT shirt while playing pool. Seems like yesterday tbh.

Yeah, Southampton. Nearly as impressive as our result, except Southampton were at home, and only had 7 different scorers. And 3 of them were Sunderland players.
