  1. The cost of EV's is eye watering isn't it? Everything I would want is 40k plus, fuck knows how much J69's Tesla is? Then the resale is a problem because the prices aren't great as the batteries obvioulsy degrade over time. Then the price of electicity has massively increased, making the whole thing much less attractive. I'll keep waiting.
  2. Does your car fill with electricity, you mean?
  3. Inflation not going dowm, core inflation not going down. Damn that war in Ukraine and those pesky gas prices. Meanwhile this shopws why people shouldn't be allowed to vote. Two thirds of people seem to think that IF an inflation rate of 5% can be achieved prices will stop going up. People are thick as pig shit unfortunately.
  4. Mackem update. The main thread (since Easter I think) is now on 9542 posts, mainly the same post repeated. They've had a bit of sex wee because Maddison might not be signing for us though. There's still plenty of spin off threads too. There's one where they get very worked up about people wearing toon tops. Apparently everbody in Newcastle does this, and it justifies secretly taking photos of random lasses wearing the tops and posting them online. Anyway, unfortunately it doesn't have the random impact on strangers the mackem crest has though. This definitely happened.
  5. I might have guessed. Fucking Gordon Brown from a quarter of a century ago.
  6. By shear coincidence I noticed this yesterday. It was like a time warp, a phone in with James Whale. I thought this cunt was already dead tbh. Probably had Alan Robson's Hot and Heavy on next.
  7. I've stayed here in Patterdale at least 20 times over the last decade. https://the-estate.co.uk/ Good quality accommodation, lovely surrounds, private beach at the end of Ullswater. I've always stayed for 1 week periods though so not sure abourlt shorter stays. However, the cost has doubled in the last 3 years, the guy who ran it who was lovely was made redundant, and now they've extended the site, all of which are negatives in my view. Can still recommend though. As Alex says though, you can't really go wrong as long as you make sure you're in the Lakes itself.
  8. 3 months later my sister died alone in hospital. Despite her being a very popular woman I had to restrict her funeral to 30 people, all socially distanced and masked. I had to tell dozens of people they couldn't come and pay their respects. Her wake was 6 people eating individual pack lunches in a garden. Fortunately it didn't rain. The guilt I feel, illogical as it is, just won't go away. Therapy hasn't even helped. It eventually gnawed away at my soul to the extent I had a complete breakdown. Seeing this video makes me sick. Johnson's tories are vermin. Anybody who can knowingly vote for them after seeing the litany of crimes they have committed is vermin too.
  9. Johnson's first column for the Mail, which are paying him close to a million a year for this, here. It's about him taking a new drug for obesity, semaglutide, on private prescription of course, and it failing because the fat cunt doesn't even have will power with the latest pharmacological help. Interestingly, it's only indicated for people with type 2 diabetes which means he's either been using it off label, or he actually is a type 2 diabetic. Other than that it's actually a boring unfunny column.
  10. I reckon this is it, they think the members will just pay the £165 and general sale the rest, including a lot of ST holders, and sell out. Truth is though there are some less than stellar teams in the first group stage of the tournament so I'm not sure they will sell out and that could have a knock on effect on atmosphere. As far as income to help out with FFP restrictions, will this make the slightest difference? I doubt it. They need to fleece corporate instead.
  11. If they charged the same for league matches it would make the cheapest ST over a grand though. Even for L7 or behind a goal. I don't see anything wrong with commenting the price point is too high but much worse the requirement for buying all of them is a piss take imo. If we don't sell out, this will be why.
  12. I watched a bit last night. I think he already is, in drag.
  13. So the club has released the cup ticket info. As an ST holder, I'm far from fucking impressed like. Basically to be guaranteed a game, you've got to buy packages for ALL games in a competition. And they're not cheap. A standard adult ticket for the CL is £55. So for me and Mrs Rents to see a CL game, we need to fork out another £330, which frankly I can't afford for 3 games, which I will struggle to get childcare for anyway given the kick off times. Reminds me of what Man United did yonks ago. Also it's still not clear how easily transferable league matches are now they're being delivered by app, I don't think I can give them to friends or family any more unless they are on a limited nominated list. Feels like the price squeeze is under way now.
  14. Do this seems to be an end to his Westminster career anyway. He's telling his few remaining fanatics not to vote against the conclusions of the Priveleges Report, presumably because he knows he'll lose even that. Coward to the last. Comebacks are rarely successful so I think that's the end of him. I just hope we don't hear much about him now outside of politics. He's taken way too much bandwidth already, the fucking cunt.
  15. The cost of some supermarket drinks is insanely cheap like, but I think with everything else going up it's ewven more pronounced, especially cheap spirits. You can but a bottle of vodka for the price of a large spreadable butter pack! If you're really struggling with life events, far too easy to say "aah fuck it". And also a massive problem with kids too, which I know we're both getting to the age where we'll have to worry about this as parents.
  16. This sounds like me a while back. As you know and I certainly don't want to revisit, things came to a head for me last summer but I think it has turned out for me alcohol was more the symptom, not the cause. Head absolutely fucked by a combination of life events and terrible mismanagement of anti-depresssants, and the resultant alochol withdrawal nearly killed me. But my relationship with alcohol was already unhealthy which was a huge factor for what happened. Since then I gave up completely for 6 months, including totally in "high risk" situations like holidays and flights abroad, christmas, work events etc. Completely broke my relationship with the drug and in the mean time got the all clear no physical damage was done, liver is healthy etc. Now I occasionally partake socially, like MF does. I enjoy the odd beer garden drink in the sun, the odd glass of wine with a meal out. Never have a desire to get drunk, never suffer a significant hang over. I don't obsess about not drinking either which I did when I was totally abstinent. I'm happy driving to social events so I can't drink, or I'm happy letting someone else do it and have a couple. I can navigate free bars easily enough (a lot of this at my work). It's lost any hold over me it has but I admit deep down it's the knowledge of what happened to me that is a huge deterrent. Any of the old feeling and habits come back in my head, I am stopping completely again. One thing that has really helped is that I don't drink at all in the house at all. Drinking at home whilst you're watching TV or whatever is just pointless, like smoking tobacco. Ask yourself what are you getting from it? Is it worth the money, the calories, falling asleep on the sofa, forgetting plot lines in films or parts of the match, the groginess the next day? For me it isn't, and I'm happier for it. So my advice gloom is maybe try to cut out the drinking which isn't directly sociable. Frankly it's not a healthy habit and there's a risk it could escalate. I think you know this otherwise you wouldn't have posted. And good luck Tom. I would really recommend a period of complete abstinence and see how you go. Set yourself a target and when you reach it reappraise. Reach out for all the help you can whilst doing this. You've recognised you've got issues, you don't need to hit rock bottom which is kind of inevitable trajectory for many of us. Act now.
  17. I heard this. This make the attacks on Harman even more unforgiveable. What I don't get now is, if he has resigned, why are they going ahead with the vote on Monday? So sick of this cunt.
  18. Just post as Yates Wine Lodge for instant striker status. 👍
  19. Yes. I've made about 10 posts in 5 years and made my support clear. I believe you need at least a post to see parsnip. A ban is inevitable if you engage without arselicking them like for instance "Biffo the Bear" does:
  20. I suspect it would be a ban and without my undercover account I'd not be able to bring you the mackem madness you all appreciate. 👍
  21. This is a work of art. You had me at first, but the way you gradually increased the absurdity levels to the crescendo of altered DNA was truly masterful. P.S. Post this on the mackem board, I dare you. I reckon you'll genuinely net a few.
  22. So this is an interesting development. So you don't have to click on the link, its about ManU continuing to loan young players to SAFC in the coming years after Amad's successful loan. Fair enough I reckon. Begs the question will the SMB condone this should ManU get taken over by the Qatar consortium, because surely that would make the morally supreme SMB hypocrites, yes? I've got a feeling it won't be a problem however, for..... erm....... reasons. https://www.readytogo.net/smb/threads/man-utd-website.1609434/
  23. I mean I don't want to accuse the mackems of being hyperbolic here, but is it really fair to compare the Sam Fender gigs to the Nuremberg rallies?
