I worked between Xmas and New year so I could take the days over to take this week off. Literally all my US, UK, and European clients are on a/l as are my peers so taking the time off is for mugs tbh, you're in classic loafing territory. Plus it gave me an excuse to go to the office and get away from the family. 👍

I do think Maths is probably the most important subject, being the basis of all physical science and therefore the language of nature itself. I think its importance and application is probably underestimated in this country, and our overall matlhs literacy is poor, which is a bad thing. But probably less than 20% need it to A level, and maybe less than 5% above this level. Some people, like Pegg seemingly, just can't do it so this is a colossal waste of time for them. Incidentally, this was one of my favourite beliefs of Wolfy. He believed Maths was made up, and ultimately that was his basis for thinking all objective scientific reality was a fiction. This was principally because he was too thick to understand anything past arithmetic. So yeah, you can go too far the other way.

Absolutely. Think the mackems appear ro be the most clueless in my experience but its hard to know just how much their bitterness taints this. Apparently we are the equivalent of Wycombe wanderers according to them, whatever the fuck that means. It was a good, physical game and actually very enjoyable. Both teams had chances to win it but a draw for us was just as fair if not moreso than what Leeds got against us last match, and I'm not whinging about them. Great result for us because I honestly think we can get maximum points from them on the return leg. Also hope for maximum points against Spurs, Liverpool, and ManU at SJP.

Plus less games as we're not in Europe, though winning both domestic trophies may take its toll on us. 👍

I've always said look at GD for a guide to how good a side is. Compare ours with theirs (ManU, Spurs). I'll be gutted if we don't get 4th now. Not only tonight did we end Arsenal's 100% at the Emirates, we are the only team they haven't scored against as well. As much as it is appreciated, what the fuck is happening with the boolean syntax in the thread title? Is is it minus (Gemmill AND Trips). Or is is minus Gemmill but PlUS Trips? Now I am smart enough to know the answer and it is implied with the last part of the title, but this type of carelessness for such a crucial game is simply unacceptable, especially now you've outed yourself as a white background user. 3/10.

So, there was a thread last week on the SMB about how shit their stadium is, but at the same time ir was mich better than SJP, obviously. A few posters commented about "shit" greenhouse roof on the Milburn and Leazes stands. You know, the one which is an architectural wonder and one of the largest cantilevered atructures in Europe, flooding the stadium with natural light? Anyway, I'm at Centreparcs at the moment but something was nagging me yesterday when I was swimming in the subtropical paradise. Then it struck me. I couldn't help thinking this is alright, but it would be much better if thet replaced the glass roof with corrugated iron, like at the SoL.

I just can't imagine how depressing it must be to regard this second tier team as the best in a half century. Meanwhile we've had football under Keegan, Robson, and now Howe which is quite literally on another level to these freaks. And aye, they will turn oh Mowbray at the drop of a hat sooner rather than later. He's a football dinosaur with career stats to match. Managed 813 Won 336 Drew 195 Lost 282 Win rate 41.3% As far as I can tell, this is all from lower leagues or the Scottish league, with his tenure at Celtic and Hibs heavily skewing his results! Currently on 40% for the mackems. Honestly I'd give it football for good if this was as good as it gets.

I was once moving house and had just put back thinking about the preparation until about 3 days before because I was too busy and stressed Suddenly realised I had to pack and move a whole semi detached house, completing on the day I had to move so zero flexibility. Honestly, nearly had a nervous breakdown, impossible job. Got the credit card out and managed to book a packing and moving service. Six lads boxed up the whole house on the morning of the move whilst I smiled with my feet up. Best money I have ever spent.

Mackems are odd. They beat Wigan in their previous match, who are bottom of the league. Drew against Blackpool today, who are third bottom. A respectable sixth in the league. But only 4 points above 15th and 12 points below 2nd, having played a game more than most clubs. The way they are going on about the team is something else. Most seem to think promotion is a certainty, with quite a few somehow believing automatic promotion is possible. A lot think this is the best SAFC rlteam ever. The mind boggles.
