  1. Still, why feel down about living in a shithole of a city, havinng a team more likely to be relegated to the third tier - again, whilst your rivals are eyeing up European football. Look at this goal keeping error 25 years ago today marra!
  2. Had a quick look this morning. Filtering out the posts about us raping babies and wanking over 9/11 (90% of them), the remaining ones are pure straw clutching. Apparently we remind them of "Reidy's" team of 99/00 and are similarly going to amount to nothing. Howe's going to leave us in January too. They are shitting themselves.
  3. I'll watch it again MotD but I didn't think so? I thought it was curving away from their keeper, not towards him.
  4. I thought so at first but if you look at the replays, naah, just brilliant placing of the shots. Take Bruno's goal as the most obvious, he manages to give it a slightly outwards curve with the lateral aspect of his foot. Purely ridiculous skill.
  5. Well, they booed taking the knee and attacked the Cardiff fans' coaches yesterday, but they're still classier than us because apparently we wank off over 9/11 or wibble.
  6. This is probably just about the perfect football weekend!
  7. Tell you what though, I feel like a teenage lad on a promise here. I genuinely believe we're going to win something, and quite soon. It's happening and the only thing we need worry about is not shooting our load before our keks are off.
  8. Yeah, but he would have known about that before canvassing votes and fucking his "mates" over. I think both things are factors but if he had a clear path he would have taken it due to his ego.
  9. Really? I would have thought that could have waited. Fairly sure he quit as Braverman took the support of the ERG from him.
  10. You can tell ewerk is the gaffer at his place like. Treats his staff worse than Irish peat so I heard.
  11. Could do, but not mine to give away. I reckon its worth North of £600 mind.
  12. I remember I think JawD from here was the first person I ever knew who used it, and I just couldn't see the point in microblogging. Just another thing I was wrong about in hindsight. I joined but just as a lurker following some people. Never seen anything negative on it tbh, but guess I am just very selective. I do wonder if all social media will just form separate bubbles and echo chambers with no cross pollination of ideas. Less understanding, less tolerance, less compromise. Twitter will just become another right-wing fucknut messaging app like Parler, Mastodon will be full of toontastic minded lefties having no impact on the real world. Musk is an absolute arse though. The whole point about town hall forums is no one person owns them. To succeed, twitter needs to be funded on a community based model imo, not owned by the world's richest man. Can't say social media has been a bad thing overall, this place has really helped me, but it is a double edged sword.
  13. Natch. I've avoided Facebook all my life and am not going to start now. I'll get a friend to flog this for me.
  14. Pretty pissed off. Trying to sort out my Dad's affairs, and need to sell his mobility scooter. Put an ad up on Gum Tree, they removed it. Put it up again, again removed. In their T&Cs they say they will email the reason why. They didn't. I'm totally scoobied as to the reason. Managed to navigate the website and send a query off to them. Look at the reply the cheeky fucker emailed me back. The cunts. I want now to organise a toontastic boycott of Gum Tree, including @Christmas Tree , to bankrupt the bastards. Thanks for helping me out here. 👍 Oh, and if anyone wants to buy a second hand mobility scooter, PM me. Strangely enough I'm thinking of @Christmas Tree again here.
  15. I thought that too when I watched it. I don't remember it being so hopeless then though, definitely we didn't have the spectre of climate change for instance. Or maybe it's just down to me changing my perceptions. Then again, was depression in children a thing then?
  16. Someone married to uncle cyclone? 👍
  17. Agree but note: only6 hours daylight in mid-winter. And anticyclones at this time cause very cold temperatures. When planning anything you need to account for the worst case conditions if you want your system to be robust and, in this case, avoid black outs.
  18. An area of high pressure which tends to block depressions (storms). A still mass of air basically, very common in winter. My Dad was a keen amateur meteorologist, had his own weather station, so I know a fair bit about the weather and climate. Not enough to be arsed to read scientific papers on it though.
  19. Okay, I think we are talking cross purposes here, my point stems back to the OP by ewerk, about Sizewell C. To sum up my point: 1) We need continuous energy more than ever in the 21st century, to operate anything electrical including C/H. 2) It's not always windy, so wind generation alone is not the sole answer. 3) It's not always light, so solar alone can never be the sole answer. 4) Often it is neither windy nor light. For example winter at any time outside the 6 hour day time window during anticyclonic conditions. 5) The example made in point 4) also happens to be the time when it is coldest and we need the most domestic energy. So for this reason, what I am saying is we ALSO need a dependable source of energy that is not dependent on these factors that are outside of our control. That is why I think not proceeding with Sizewell C is a mistake. I also think cancelling HS2 and NPR are huge mistakes. We should be investing in carbon neutral infrastructure as much as possible, of all kinds.
