  1. So they’re imagining not being bothered about seeing a Geordie in a place they’re imagining going to? Which proves they don’t think about us? Or something
  2. Read about that last week. What’s appalling is he received a (very light imo) 4 year sentence and was released after 12 months.
  3. Speaking of which, Hayden still has two years left on his contract
  4. Be funny if she defected then enough of her constituents wanted her recalled. I can’t see it going down that well as Reform came 4th in her constituency
  5. Bryan Robson was an absolutely superb player. He’s massively underrated these days imo. He had everything you’d want in a central midfield player including the ability to score goals when his team most needed it. Rumoured he took everything going as well drinking lager like it was going out if fashion.
  6. Read it before. Great read but might have another go at it, as it was a while ago. My personal take is they were all at it so their achievements stand, if you know what I mean. Carl Lewis was too. And he was the most self righteous cunt out of everyone. That said, I was absolutely inspired any him as a kid because of his achievements in ‘84.
  7. Aye, I caught about 10 mins of the Daley one so I’ll definitely be watching that too. Great memories of LA 84 in particular. That’s the first summer Olympic Games I can properly remember
  8. I think every single case should be viewed on its merits and within the context of what’s taken place. Which clearly wasn’t the case when loads of news outlets ran with this as their top story but only showed the footage of the assault by the copper. Who I think should also be prosecuted
  9. Tbh, I’m not too arsed as I think he’s probably doing the club a favour by going there now.
  10. A lot of people would’ve done a lot worse than what that copper did if you’d just seen a fella chin a couple of female colleagues. That doesn’t make it ok, as we expect high standards from people in that sort of position in this country. But I hope the lad he did it to gets serious prison time. As he absolutely deserves it.
  11. @Meenzer have you seen the Linford Christie doc on iPlayer? Highly recommended for anyone but I know Meenz is a track and field geek. Christie was a hero of mine growing up. I was a good sprinter / district schools 100 and 200m winner when I was a kid. Not that I was ever talented or committed enough to make it but it was another reason I looked up to him. I think him holding the World, European, Commonwealth and Olympic titles all at the same time is arguably the greatest achievement by any British sportsperson, let alone athlete. Given how competitive the 100m is. I don’t want to spoil the documentary by talking about it too much but the lack of funding and support along with the shoddy treatment he’s received, racism he’s had to confront etc. throughout his whole career and since he’s retired is just fucking awful really. Also, it really comes across just how much the athletes he coached like Darren Campbell and Katherine Merry love and respect him

  13. Yeah, it’s in between too high and too low 👍🏻
  14. Was about to say. The tragic fucking cunt is obsessed with those things. Although if he is as worked up about it as he appears to be then good.
  15. Yeah. I think the whole cult revolves around him (and falls apart without him)
  16. Yeah. I think they can. Like Biden being replaced by Harris might go against the party rules. But I think it’s just their own party rules rather than anything constitutional/legislative. Trump would no doubt legally challenge it though. Because it’s different (seeing as Biden stood down voluntarily).
  17. It was just a convention, then FDR won a third and fourth term because of WW2 / maintaining stability. Then they amended the constitution so no one else could do it. I’m not sure what the exact rules are re: having served as a vice president taking over. But I know LBJ could’ve stood in 68 but he chose not to. It was mentioned that he was the last incumbent president to chose not to stand for a second term before Biden
  18. No, it’s in the constitution and it applies whether the terms are consecutive or not.
  19. Lovely renovated early 20th century Italianate garden in Devon 👍🏻
  20. Gardener’s World is on 👍🏻 (I know because I’ve turned over)
  21. This bit with the women is worth it just for how much it’ll wind up Laurence Fox
  22. proper woke / PC gone mad
