It's also difficult for a 70-odd year old bloke to be the entire world-wide scouting network for a PL club. -

The sozzled prick probably forgot he'd written the first one.

Ferguson'll finally have some end product to his delivery

Qualification is a piece of piss now tbh. Teams are, quite rightly, judged on how they do at tournaments. Second rate is probably more apt.

Is your favourite Beatles album The Best of the Beatles?

You sure it wasn't last Christmas? Taxi!

What's CT got to do with this?

Eh? It means you look a bit like him. Or, should I say, he looks a bit like you?

Caught a bit of the tennis from the O2. Just realised who Stan Wawrinka reminds me of. Of very own Renton.

Your mam looks like she's the spooky apparition in one of those photos that people claim has a ghost in it that only appeared after it was developed

It would've been the 70s, aye. Speaking of neon - remember luminous socks? Especially wearing odd pairs. I had a 'lumi' orange pair and a green pair than I used to mix up Worn with sta-prest pants or drainpipe jeans.

There seems to have become a bit of an obsession with finding an opener who is different to Cook when, as you suggest, a traditional opener could be just what's needed. It's going to be tough in SA whoever gets the nod though.

Pretty sure I had a pair of brown corduroy dungarees like. Think there's a photo of me in them with a cream knitted cardy with the letter 'A' on the breast pocket. Clearly a snappy dresser even back then

Which one's which, Stevie?

Think I would play Compton opening with Cook and give Hales a go at number 3 where he's played a fair bit in first class cricket. Think Ballance has the potential to be a good player but they've shoehorned him into the no. 3 role in a way that is reminiscent of trying to make Root an opener. Disappointed Rashid isn't going especially as Patel isn't the long term answer. That said I don't think Patel will play. I think Moeen Ali will drop back down the order and they'll play four seamers.
