  1. Give The Outsider a go. Much more accessible
  2. Speaking of godawful reggae, I once saw Musical Youth at the Rec in town (now Eldon Leisure). Also got the autograph of the dulcet toned Paddy McDee from the Metro Radio roadshow at the same event.
  3. Think he'd always have been more suited to somewhere like Italy anyway.
  4. The programme itself encouraged kids to go out both wittingly and unwittingly
  5. Could be were shit at developing talent and/or had a manager in Pardew who wouldn't give him a chance. Just saying it's hard to judge youngsters here
  6. Space dust was what the Americans call popping candy, that stuff that crackles in your mouth. Used to love it. Had some chilli flavoured chocolate that had some of it in recently too.
  7. The "narrative" in the media seems to what a joke Ed Miliband is. What does that say about a Tory Party which has consistently struggled to poll better? That's a rhetorical question, CT.

  10. Finishing school for comedy writers
  11. Remember Troops as well. LA Gear man I had a ridiculous pair of Converse
  12. Aye, read that as a nipper. Much better than The Snowman.
  13. Raymond Briggs could be canny dark as well as funny and sentimental. There was also that thing he did which was a proper pop at the Falklands War when the whole country were convincing themselves what a glorious victory it had been. There was also a thing he did about the rather dreary life if his mam and dad. Can't remember the name of either. I went to the Laing gallery a few years ago to see an exhibition and stumbled upon another one that was there which was all kids' books illustrators. It had original stuff by Raymond Briggs, Quentin Blake and Stephen Biesty amongst others. It pissed all over the main exhibition.
  14. Your big problem was being far too subtle
