  1. I suppose a loan deal represents a possible way back and a chance to rebuild his confidence and form. I agree with you though. Definitely wasn't given a proper opportunity here and also had to try and adapt to the English game whilst playing for a shite side.
  2. Downloaded by mistake. CT was after the tv series
  3. Btw, reading and acquiring knowledge is for your 20s and 30s whereas Florita's is for your 50s. #sussed
  4. Auto-correct has never heard of the place apparently
  5. Love it when they tell a player to have a shot then ban mental when the player does but doesn't score a 25 yard screamer. Used to have some right 'winnets' behind me who only perceived the game in the past 20 seconds or so, i.e. couldn't fathom why a player might be blowing out his arse after sprinting up and down the pitch less the a minute ago. Also thought player x,y or z should be able to run forever and execute a perfect pass every time purely because of their salary. Didn't seem to be able to see what a player was trying to do either when something didn't come off. I don't think they're atypical match goers.
  6. Listen to Justin Lee Collins here.
  7. I'm glad you did tbh I reckon I've been to 300-400 games but been to about 5 in the last four seasons. Not that I post much about football anyway now. I rarely watch it these days.
  8. It's called a 'show' in Sunderland apparently
  9. He did, aye. Always knew I was related to him but only found out relatively recently Alan was his son
  10. Might've known this would go soopafan sooner or later. Glad I wasn't disappointed
  11. Bet they got pissed after you left
  12. Remember Toonprick's crack about training his tastebuds to discern the subtleties of a single malt when it was mixed with Pepsi Max?
  13. First game was New Year's Day 1983 (had to look it up to check as I couldn't remember if it was 83 or 84). I went with me Dad and it was in the old benches bit down by the pitch at the front of the then newish East Stand. Don't remember much about the game other than it being against Carlisle United and us being 1-nil up then 2-1 down. Keegan scored both our goals but I can only remember the volleyed equaliser. Loved the atmosphere, especially the last 15 mins or so when we pushed for a winner. The Newcastle side included KK (obviously), Terry Mac, Chris Waddle and Imre Varadi. 'Pop' Robson played for Carlisle and Bob Stokoe was their manager. I think it was the first time I'd seen adults behave like that.
  14. Think it might have been when I was about 15 on a Saturday afternoon in 'Le Cafe Noir', which was a hilarious-named wine bar type place situated next to where the escalators were in the then newly completed Eldon Gardens. That whole area was later Scruffy Murphy's then The Goose in the Garden. Thought I was holding it together quite well when I got home until my Mam took one look at me, smelt me breath and said, with barely contained disdain "You smell like your Dad. Where have you been?"
  15. Aye, all this crack about Corbyn tearing the party apart is more "we're going to tear it apart when he wins".
