  1. I think it’s because it’s ranked by the third column. Although i take your point
  2. Just thinking about this in relation to the recent revelations about the Nottinghamshire Police: https://www.theguardian.com/uk-news/2024/feb/19/police-shared-graphic-details-nottingham-attack-victims-whatsapp which I think backs up what I was saying about them looking after their own in the case of ‘experienced officers’.
  3. So basically their job is more important to them than their principles. Which I have no problem with. As long as you’re prepared to admit that all the time. Whereas most of this lot make out that’s not the case. And it’s not like Delaney is falling over himself to point out he should’ve been a vocal critic of Putin before but couldn’t be in his articles. Although fair play of him to admit it on Twitter. But we know the actual problem with the PIF with these lot is really about how it impacts their own beloved football clubs.
  4. I mean I’d love to know what’s so bad about the club affiliating itself with the women’s team, spending a bit of money on it and allowing the players to go full time as a result. And why he feels the need to denigrate their opponents as though they don’t need to climb through the pyramid structure like everyone else. I’m sure it was fucking brilliant when Putin’s puppet was doing that at Chelsea though.
  5. He makes some decent points but he can’t write an article that doesn’t ooze with self satisfied smugness
  6. He has a bit of time for our club and its fans. Which makes a nice change. But it’s still usually birth right, cathedral on the hill and other patronising stuff like that.
  7. She’s a genuinely deeply unpleasant grifter. Although I find the amount of people taken in by the likes of her worse
  8. There wasn’t a fucking risk when he was playing for us
  9. Saw that a while back. Apparently the lad has Tourette’s, which doesn’t make it any less funny.
  10. I think Anderson might be a bit of a victim of the system Howe prefers. Although it’s a shame he was injured too as, given the other players out, you’d think he’d have had plenty of opportunities this season
  11. Blackpool South is a marginal in the sense it was close at the last election. The only thing that’ll be close going off the polling is the Reform v Conservatives race for second place
  12. Brehme played mostly down the left but was two-footed and, iirc, scored with his right for the penalty and only goal of the final in Italia 90. Also played in the young West German side that gave Argentina a hell of a match four years earlier. Also, in addition to HMHM’s point about the 3 Germans at Inter and the Dutch trio at Milan. That was the strongest and richest league in the world at that time. Not just that but only 3 foreigners were allowed in any starting XI in Serie A back then too. So you had to be a bit special to make the cut
  13. Imagine thinking it’s a policy that’ll turn things around for them too. On one hand you’ve got people appalled by that sort of rhetoric. On the other you’ve got people who are very anti-immigration who don’t trust them to deliver. Then the majority in the middle with far more pressing priorities
  14. If that’s true and given his short tenure here and at Brighton then it sounds like he could be a bit of a fraud who talks a good game. Obviously in our somewhat bitter collective states of mind, that’s what we would like to be the case. But it would also be so very Man Utd to be taken in if that was the case.
  15. I don’t recall who said it but it’s been mentioned in here before about the owner’s data-based approach at BHA being the key to their success in recruitment
  16. The government that has brought you record levels of immigration has a plan to deliver the biggest ever cut in migration?
  17. I think Howay pointed out that Henry Winter was all over Ashworth purely because it was Man Utd after him. I said then that would just indicate Ashworth’s ability to sell himself as it’s not like he’s going to showing journalists exactly what he knows. Then you have bias views of Rio Ferdinand who will know absolutely fuck all about Ashworth beyond his decent reputation and Man Utd wanting him suddenly hailing the bloke as the best in the world at what he does. You can also guarantee the same people making these claims re: Ashworth also think this amazing football genius should be allowed to join Man Utd tomorrow with ourselves just allowing that to happen. Without even realising the contradiction there. All of which plays to John from Devon, lifelong Man Utd fan. Who understands stuff like this about as much as how to get to Old Trafford. Honestly, man. The fucking arrogance of these cunts. Alright, Ashworth has had his head turned by a bigger club and wants to leave. But he’s under contract so it’s absolutely on our terms or he remains on gardening leave until 2025. By which time the impatient hierarchy could well have gone for an alternative anyway. Which would be hilarious
  18. What absolute fucking bollocks. Going to the pub would be much better
  19. A few of the Derby County side looked like they’d make decent rugby players
  20. It’ll become a bigger story when Badenoch doubles down on the lie
  21. I can’t really see why he’d lie about it if he couldn’t back it up. Whereas the government lie by default and seem oblivious to the fact it always catches up with them. And also makes them look terrible in the process
  22. Went to watch the Newcastle United Women’s team play at Kingston Park yesterday. We got some freebies so me and my lass took my eldest and his mate. It was alright. You’d imagine there won’t be many good enough as they progress like. The 28, Lumsden I think, was lively on the wing and got the first goal. The centre half no.23, Potts, was the best player on the pitch by a mile though. Proper Rolls Royce.
  23. Siri, give me an example of a rhetorical question
