  1. Also, there’s loads of cities where the locals will talk about ‘going into town’ or whatever in reference to the city centre. Just another example of them making something up then getting worked up about it
  2. On the plus side, imagine how he’ll feel after having spent several million pounds of his own money in this Tory election campaign
  3. I quite like women’s football. Certainly don’t have a problem with. Before you ask, I’m not a lesbian
  4. It’s a slightly misleading stat anyway. I mean the players on the list were clocked at that speed. Making them literally the fastest. But quickest from a standing start over 10 or 20 metres might be a different set of players. As would quickest with the ball at their feet. Less easy to quantify in a match though
  5. Premier League site reckons it’s Haaland
  6. I think Reform’s success, if they get anything like those 19 seats, will be their undoing. Because a little bit of scrutiny will reveal their abhorrent views
  7. When the Halls and Shepherd sold the club, wasn’t the large debt almost the same as what they’d taken out in dividends over their tenure?
  8. An absolutely nonsensical dig at that.
  9. Yeah. It would give Reform and Farage far too much credibility
  10. Everything she says is reasonable and would resonate with most workers.
  11. Latest electoral calculus MRP poll of polls (updated 22nd June) is mental. Labour predicted to get 450 seats. Reform 19 (videprinter: NINETEEN). Tories 61 seats and that would, if correct, see Ed Davey as the leader of the opposition (Libdems on 70 MPs). https://www.electoralcalculus.co.uk/prediction_main.html
  12. Not unlike Peston’s absolute determination to make the betting thing a huge, cross-party scandal. Even though there’s fuck all evidence that’s the case and not to mention there’s zero equivalence between those close to the PM using inside information to bet on the election date and, for example, Ed Davey having a few quid in how many seats the Lib Dems were going to win in a previous GE.
  13. We laugh but this is fucking Orwellian levels of bullshit at this point. Liverpool has 5 constituencies. Every single one is Labour (or was until Parliament was dissolved). Electoral calculus gives Labour a 100% chance of winning each one again this time round. Predicting getting 60-70% of the vote in each case.
  14. Should’ve sent the beeb. They’d have found a few loyal ones
  15. Same team for me. Or keep Saka in then have Gordon or Palmer as the option on the bench. At least one of those two should start. Saka hasn’t impressed but being the only one in the side capable of making runs behind their defence has made it difficult for him. I.e. defences being able to double up on him. Due to them knowing he’s the only one in the front 4 (of the starting XIs so far) with genuine pace. Honestly though, you could make a good case for any of Saka, Kane, Bellingham or Foden not starting. If you don’t perform and still start, what sort of message does that send to the likes of Toney, Gordon, Watkins and Palmer? It might actually help those players you leave out. As there’s usually more gaps etc if you come in for the last 30 mins or so. Might give them a much needed kick up the jacksie too. As Holden says though, all this discussion seems a bit moot.
  16. Dave: Barber, do you have anything to keep my hair in. Barber: How about this box, sir?
  17. Probably Edgar but definitely Mainoo or Bellingham. TAA hasn’t played enough there. It’s too different to FB in terms of where you receive the ball, the time and space etc. He’s got the attributes to play there in terms of physicality and skill set but not the know how and experience at present.
  18. I like him as a player but there’s at least 3 better options there just in the current squad
  19. TAA has looked very good alongside Rice in CM though
