  1. Chris the pincher Pincher has resigned. Only after the Standards Committee recommended an 8 week suspension. Which would have triggered a recall ballot in his constituency. Also only after his appeal against the sanction failed. That’s almost RTG levels of class
  2. That’s awful but that’s positive news at least. You fear the worst when you hear something like that
  3. There were about 6 of those so-called security lads at four lane ends a couple of months back. This was about 6pm on a week night btw. This lass on the platform was having a tab and she was saying to them “I’ll be finished in a minute”. They just looked at her and did absolutely fuck all. This other lad (not with the lass) probably in his mid-20s, who looked to be in his way home from work, turned to them and said “Here, what do yous actually do?”
  4. They elected not one but two Tory MPs iirc with hefty majorities so you can blame a canny few of the locals.
  5. They seem to have missed a trick by not just calling it Jimmy’s Buffet
  6. That stretch was always jokingly referred to as the Valley of Death but that was more after dark, not ducking commuting through the day. I know I’ve said it before but you’d get rid of about 90% of anti social behaviour overnight if you made it so you actually needed a ticket to travel on it. Outside of the city centre I probably get my pass checked once every 8-12 weeks. Travelling at busy times too.
  7. I hardly ever go into the city centre now but did the other weekend. Whilst places like Grey Street remain beautiful I couldn’t help but think how much of the city centre is a shit hole now. Northumberland Street for example. It’s rough as fuck. Not even edgy or cool. Just a wasteland compared to how it was. Your point about the infrastructure too though. Possibly the worst legacy of the last 13 years or whatever of Tory rule is the complete lack of joined up thinking. The sheer incompetence and corruption of it all. Everything done on isolation for personal gain or to feed an ideology half of them don’t even believe in. I think it’s pretty much irreversible too. The media is so fixed against anything remotely in opposition to large corporations ripping nearly every fucker off
  8. Divint gan forgetting your trequartistas. Especially in the fantasista mould
  9. He’s in such a strong position in the polls that a 100 majority would be a bit of a damp squib. The problem is he doesn’t realise it’s got next to nowt to do with him and almost everything to do with the Tory economic train wreck
  10. Without even speculating about what Starmer’s longer term plans are, all he arsed about is winning. He could be much braver because barring some unbelievable series of events, he’s already won. But he’s going for the ultra safe approach. He can get to fuck like.
  11. That sort of shit is fine if you’re playing great (and like the social media bollocks) it’s not when you’re not. I actually think being a ‘family first’ person probably helps you as a player generally but parading a baby on the pitch is all a bit instagram shite for me and not the same thing. I know I’m a middle-aged neebody so I’m not really in a position to judge that side of things. But, if I’ve understood you, I think your more general point relates to his being a bit too concerned about his image and believing his own hype. Which is to the detriment of his game at the minute. I think that’s fair enough
  12. Emlyn? I believe Tommy Smith used to call him ‘Thrush’
  13. I think the best Bruno had looked since he arrived was when he was played as an 8 (if memory serves me right) when he got his first starts here. In terms of his goal contribution and overall game. Last season he was integral to the midfield that came 4th, especially with Willock and Longstaff ahead of him. Having a great understanding with the latter in particular. But he’s never hit the heights of that first 10 games or whatever it was
  14. It’s not an exact science but someone posted something the other week showing our first 5 games were comfortably the toughest in the division
  15. I think the problem with the centre backs yesterday was a combo of 4 main things - them not having played together recently, Ferguson having a really good game and Targett having a fucking mare. But mainly the midfield 3 completely misfiring individually and as a unit, letting the opposition have far too much possession. I do trust Howe of course but there is a lot to sort out. Another thing is starting Isak (a must 9 times out of 10 when fit imo) but getting his teammates close to him. He’s looked isolated in the last couple of games. I don’t think Howe will do it but I would like to try him as a 10 on a 4-2-3-1, behind Wilson, as a fair few of us have mentioned as an option. It’s not easy and it’s not like a computer simulation like. You fix one thing and that creates different problems but we’re getting overrun a bit at times in CM anyway. Willock and Longstaff’s running is a big miss. Teams couldn’t handle it last year.
  16. Aye. It’s also ‘blood money’ if the Saudis want to buy a player that a club wants to hang onto eg Salah but its fine if it’s a player surplus to requirements (like Henderson).
  17. I was only joking btw. I think it’s a couple of years
  18. If it doesn’t work out he can get a job with the Spanish FA
  19. He cut the ball back into a good area with Gordon being the only other player in the area though. I think it was reasonable to assume someone else might’ve got in the end of it. Agree he should’ve taken at least one of the chances he had in the first 5 mins or so. Either way we need to work out a way of his being less isolated.
  20. I’m about a year older than you, so you mark that one down to Alzheimer’s. Because you’re too fucking dull for it to be either of the other reasons 👍🏻
