  1. Apart from his oozing charisma I couldn’t give a fuck what the trust thinks. And I haven’t even applied for tickets so I’m not pissed off at not getting one. How many trust members are there relative to the fans. I bet it’s insignificant even relative to regular match goers
  2. Sounds like he had a lucky escape by not actually being there
  3. Two lads who live ‘in and around’ Bilbao. 👍🏻
  4. If you ever wanted to sum up everything about their fanbase it would be that Bilbao Black Cats shite
  5. I couldn’t give a fuck tbh but it’s typical of them. I.e. to invent a story about going to a Partizan Belgrade game just to have a dig at the attendance at a Newcastle match that took place 20 years ago. Particularly as it’s nearly double what they got for their first ever match in a European competition
  6. Here’s a good story for you. It also has the advantage of being true. For Sunderland’s first ever home European tie, only 21,000 turned up. I think Roker held about 40,000 at the time (possibly more). In the next round for their game v Sporting Lisbon about 31,000 turned up. Those are their only two home games in Europe to date. That’s on the back of having won the FA Cup at the end of the previous season (their sole post-war trophy to date).
  7. Light on details that story (beyond the details you could find on the internet in less than 5 mins)
  8. Maybe don’t lend it to your kids though 👍🏻
  9. Also like how Brown’s tweeted that thinking he’s emerged on top there.
  10. He’s fucking spot on. Brown about as neutral as us lot on here are
  11. Holt, Delaney and co will be up in arms and will endeavour to prevent this too 👍🏻
  12. I don’t know why but it’s a one a lot of people seem to have missed. I think there was a lot of other stuff he released around then so maybe it got lost amongst that. Maybe the stream of consciousness of the dream sequences put people off. It’s ambitious but he carries it off imo
  13. I think Skagboys is the most recent thing I’ve read. He certainly still had it then but that was treading old ground. I’ve such a short commute / busy life with the little parasites these days I don’t read anything like enough any more.
  14. Despite what I just said Greg always comes across as a sound lad the problem re: tickets is you’ll have had a box office run on a shoestring for over a decade. The knock on is you don’t retain knowledge and expertise in a department because it’ll have been an underpaid, overworked and under appreciate area. A microcosm of the Ashley regime if you like
  15. That’s what bothers me most. These lot being seen by the club as speaking fir the fans. It’s obviously difficult to get the fan engagement spot on and it’s early days. But you get the feeling Hurst will have an eye on what he can get out of anything decided. The supporters trust were about as much use as a chocolate teapot when Ashley was here too. I realise it would’ve been hard to influence him but at least ask some difficult questions ffs. They can do one too
  16. I think both are great. MSN is definitely more experimental in parts and Gloom is spot on with his description too. I think he’s a genuinely great writer.
  17. Marabou Stork Nightmares is good. Also just reminded me of often being asked to ‘translate’ passages of Irvine Welsh by southerners
  18. I think I’d rather go and see a Wraith talk-in. At least you’d get a laugh at the absurdity maybe. Not that I’d be parting with cash to go to either like
  19. Similar situation where it’s easier said than done though. Who’s going to loan a good central midfielder in January? No point in just getting another body in for the sake of it if they’re not of the required quality. Then you have clubs like Chelsea refusing to loan players to us
  20. Bobby Robson: More Than A Manager is on Prime. It’s class but if you watch it you might end up with some dust in your eyes
