  1. Aye. Atmosphere is fucking similar to what’s blowing across the pitch
  2. I wonder how long it’ll take the PL to scrutinise this
  3. It’s almost like they’re not that arsed about human rights
  4. Tom’s just won Dusty Bin 👍🏻
  5. If he doesn’t figure in Howe’s long term plans I guess we’ll see plenty established CL clubs bidding well over what we paid for ASM. Given he’s world class 👍🏻
  6. That council decision isn’t even dodgy imo. The reason for withholding public funds was legit (no affordable housing). The planning permission remained in place. It’s also fair enough to say significantly more attendees at the match is good for the local economy. I would guess a kop end would mean more than an additional 8000 seats?
  7. I think they knew they’d be really closely scrutinised and how much the PL looks after the interests of the likes of Man Utd and Liverpool tbh
  8. That’s why I think it won’t negatively impact us. We could have ‘legitimate’ deals which are for all the tricks Man Utd etc have pulled (official travel neck pillow partners and all that shite). The precedent has been set. As long as it’s a real company (and there’s loads of those catering to the luxury market in the Middle East) then they can’t say a thing. That’s before you have the likes of adidas and Aramco paying top dollar to buy our kit manufacturers and sponsors. The potential to increase our revenue is ridiculous
  9. That’s the one. Caught a bit of it but wanted to watch it properly. It’s actually 7 x 1 hour episodes chronicling 1985-1999. It’s on iPlayer but that might be UK only
  10. By the way (I know I’ll sound like an old fart here) but it’s going to take someone getting killed before they do something about the roads being open next to SJP immediately before and (particularly) after a match. It’s fucking ridiculous
  11. Hoping for the news or Crimewatch?
  12. Anyone seen the Adam Curtis series on the collapse of the Soviet Union and what followed (up to 1999 I think)? Quite fancy it although I expect it’ll be fucking grim in parts
  13. You might be right on the fee tbh and prices are crazy. But (assuming we were ok with his leaving) then I think 20-25m would be accepted. I think it would be more important from a ffp pov to shift him when the chance arises than to hold out for another 5-10m in transfer fees that might never come
  14. He’ll leave for about half that
  15. I do agree that he’s trying to adapt. At least in terms of his decision making and you can see it’s going against his natural instinct. Second guessing himself in possession, not sure whether to dribble or pass etc. At the same time though, that’s not really much of a defence for him in terms of a case for his starting more or having a future here beyond the summer. Quite the opposite in fact
  16. Clubs like Liverpool and Forest had a financial advantage over almost all of their rivals in the 70s and 80s too. In fact it’s been going on since the maximum wage was abolished. It’s portrayed now like their achievements were noble and fair. I’m not saying they didn’t achieve great things but it’s not how it’s often painted.
  17. Aye, that’s a good point. He’s fully bought into this now. Yet at the same time he’s not too fussed about how the world’s human population will see have decreased by 90% in a mere two years time and is just going about his day to day life as normal. I mean - how the fuck does that work?
  18. He was always a good laugh. Believed in some shite like Zionists controlling the world financial systems and the aforementioned world ending in 2012. But it was never much of an issue as he’s rarely mention it. But now, like the lass you mention, he seems to feel like it’s his duty to ‘educate’ those who haven’t seen the light. It’s nuts like. It’s the way they apply zero critical thinking to the stuff they believe that gets me.
  19. Same with Raab. There’s no way that story is going away but he’s putting off getting rid as long as possible.
