  1. Deep is the opposite of high in terms of long established football terminology regrading the area of the pitch relative to your opponent’s goal. That’s his point.
  2. I get that. I think Howe’s rationale might be that Wilson has another week to get more fit. On top of that Isak and ASM on the bench gives fantastic options from the bench. The changes in the amount of subs allowed has made it even more of a squad game than ever. I think Isak is absolutely going to be a regular starter soon though
  3. This whole ‘pride in our brilliant young team’ shit is the new classy club. Just as fucking fake too
  4. Covent Garden genuinely looked like there’d been some sort of disaster (and I suppose there had been) the day after those fucking bamps had visited.
  5. Saying it’s up for sale or saying it isn’t are two sides of the same coin tbh. Utterly meaningless until a serious bidder comes along. Like Ashley with his patter about the club being back on or off the market. It’s just to try and dampen down speculation in this instance.
  6. Didn’t really mean it as a criticism of Willock or the way he’s been performing. But he’s the most likely to miss out if ASM were to come in imo. But I’d actually be surprised if we didn’t see the same starting XI for the second leg.
  7. Aye, do you think we’re interested in being liked and getting patted on the head for being plucky, honourable losers? Fuck off, you arrogant cunt.
  8. We’ve got a far superior goal difference to them, from a lot less league games, in the division above them. I’ll take that
  9. I wasn’t glued to every single second of the match cheering on Southampton but if I had been…..
  10. The other thing is sides have cottoned on a bit that lots of stuff was coming down the right with Almiron and Trippier. And having Burn and Joelinton - like it’s been - on the left will never create as much. So starting ASM could open up more room on the right by drawing players to him. But it also gives us a threat down the left. It leaves us a bit more open in theory but you’ve still got the same rock solid back line / gk. And a midfield 3 of Joelinton/Bruno/Longstaff is not going to shirk any defensive responsibilities
  11. I was trying to think who Isak reminded me of. And the way he kind of floats about and that lovely first touch where it looks easy and it came to me - Kluivert

  13. That’s how Hong Kong Phoey rolls. I’m in
  14. Went to OT v Sheff Utd. It was a scrappy affair, as Craig says. The Chelsea defeat at Wembley felt like a robbery
  15. A low block isn’t anything new though. It’s just a trendy hipster term for a team that sits deep to soak up the pressure
  16. Nope. I think I remember quite a bit of daft stuff relating to Bros from back in the day because loads of lasses and a few lads were into them at school. For a while they were massive and I couldn’t fucking stand them. It’s a bit like mackems and Dawn Thewlis
