  1. Haven’t been to the former but Crete is gorgeous, yeah. Absolutely massive and loads to explore. Haven’t been but Rethymnon is meant to be really nice
  2. Just had a lovely weekend in Troutbeck without the kids / dogs. Hope that makes you feel better
  3. Had a week there, albeit about 12 years ago but went last week of the season (in terms of most chartered flights) ie end September/beginning of October. It was quite quiet. Because of where it is you’re still likely to get nice hot and settled weather then. It’s actually pleasant the days being relatively short as well
  4. Wyki, if you fancy something a little bit off the beaten track there’s definitely a different vibe on Greek islands without an airport. Just that bit quieter / laidback. Or after the day trippers leave anyway. Paxos is lush and fairly easy to get to (short flight to corfu, then an hour by catamaran). Although the Greeks don’t get the Brit/German/Scandi obsession with the islands and reckon the Peloponnese is just as nice
  5. Rhodes Town is beautiful too.
  6. Funnily enough, if you read the article (unlike them) the Saudis get one small mention (about how they wouldn’t increase oil production a couple of months back). Let them dream I suppose, if it makes them feel better
  7. There was talk about him also playing wide right. Also gives us the option to rest Wilson I suppose.
  8. Just remembered there was a Mexican restaurant called Senor Zorbas there with unbelievable views and probably the best selection of tequila I’ve ever seen
  9. There’s about 4 cruise ships per day that go there in the summer
  10. Firstly, I haven’t been for a good few years. It’s absolutely gorgeous but generally really expensive in terms of eating out and accommodation. Although I assume you can still do it in a budget if you aren’t staying somewhere with a ‘caldera view’. If you stay in the other side from there the beaches have black sand due the island’s volcanic history. Oia (pronounced Ee-ah) is where you’ve seen about 1,000 photos before of the blue domed churches etc at sunset. But that’s crazy in terms of prices. One of the the good things about the island is it’s so small you can explore all the bits very easily if you hire a car or a quad. There’s also the famous red beach, used in lots of fashion magazine shoots. The island also has about ten vineyards and the remains of the old Minoan settlement destroyed by the eruption that shaped the island as it is now. I’ll see if I can find some photos
  11. Aye, seeing as it was completely to be expected. Although I guess the defeat probably made him a bit prickly in the post match interview. He’d have laughed it off if they’d won
  12. I thought Gomez was at fault for playing a blind pass of course but I also thought exactly the same re: the keeper’s weird positioning. All the blame seems to have been heaped on the former
  13. Aye, Case is definitely ‘one of them’
  14. He experienced the buzz via YouTube. Just like being there. It’s a bit like experiencing the 80s via the radio in SCS 👍🏻
  15. Mate, you can almost guarantee the ‘lifelong Labour voter’ / variation on that theme on Twitter is just some right wing cunt attempting to give some credence to whatever bollocks follows
  16. I think I’ve mentioned this on here before there was a parody John Redwood account that (I think) hoyed the towel in because it was more sensible than the real thing
  17. Permanent cups we can recycle 👍🏻
  18. I don’t think she married for love, mate
