Difficult to see how much different Kerr could’ve ran that because of the way Ingerbrigsen ran his race. It’s over in the metaphorical blink of an eye when it’s that fast. Tactics, to an extent, go out the window and its survival of the fittest in the last 10-15% of the race. Which is what you want in an Olympic final. Thought it was a fabulous race and Kerr did himself proud. It’s incredibly fucking difficult winning a medal in an event like that anyway and that was a mental final

One of my favourite players ever. An absolute genius

Surprised they’re not in for Clarke

One of the main reasons Baggio went to Juve was because, iirc, the stadium renovations for Italia 90 for Fiorentina which spiralled out of control. It’s basically like a national monument, so it was inconceivable they relocated. Florentine pride also meant it was inconceivable that the stadium wouldn’t host World Cup matches. To improve the capacity they lowered the pitch and removed the running track. Baggio was sold to help pay for it. They already hated Juve but it was a particularly bitter blow for the fans at the time. Especially as the team didn’t really get anything out of, as the money was already spent

Talk about handling of immigration. How about record levels of legal migration? A complete failure in tackling a refugee crisis, in no small part directly caused by a variety of policies and by Brexit. Underfunding all manner of public services to exacerbate the pressure on them. Then demonising the very people who aren’t to blame. 👍🏻

He’ll be windmilling fascists. Or turning out for Brazil in Paris

Generic small time football blather thread FOREVER

I thought Atletico Madrid were skint. -
I also think you make a very good and valid point about BBC and SKY news and their collective lack of investigative journalism. Coupled with just looking for the controversial angle. I honestly don’t think it’s that representative of the nation but it’s not a million miles away from parroting the vile stuff you see on social media.

At the start of the rioting the BBC included ‘people with legitimate concerns about immigration’ as being amongst those taking part in one of the reports

Keep reminding her Jesus was a Palestinian 👍🏻

Tbf anyone in their right mind hates that fucking prick. 🖕 And Ronaldo -
.com have the contract end date as ‘tbc’. I honestly think, due to the lack anything solid, people have just made up the 3.5 year thing to generate hits. Especially as it’s yet another window where FSR has meant there’s not a lot happening. You would think 4.5 years would be the minimum length of the contract

Not just that. These ‘patriotic’ pliable fuckwits types are literally doing the bidding of hostile foreign powers. Who are looking to destabilise the country and its new government using Facebook etc. In the wake of a previous regime that’s left the police woefully undermanned and the criminal justice system at breaking point. It’s not just terrorism and political violence. It’sp coordinated acts of treason.

Btw, Flintoff’s son, who is also an allrounder, has scored a couple of centuries for Lancashire second XI and made his List A debut for the county last month. At the age of 16. Seen some footage of his batting too and he looks just like his dad at the crease.

Aye, that’s exactly what I thought must be happening at the time

Ah, come on, man. It’ll have been before she crossed the line

Unbelievable achievement winning Olympic gold in such a competitive event. But doing it in such a high quality field, as favourite, with all that pressure, with such a confident display? Fucking class that like

Should’ve been arrested for that shirt alone. 90s Snoop Dog wasn’t wearing tops that baggy

North Gateshead 👍🏻

Means held in prison until their trial and not offered bail I think. Would be standard for this sort carry on. Also there is relatively high prison capacity at present after recent emergency measures lead to early releases

I think it’s another version of their quayside one, which does NY-style slices. As opposed to the Neapolitan-style pizzas at the Sandyford

Makes you think

I agree. I’d also add that a lot of the people involved in the bother are probably apathetic to the extent that they didn’t even bother voting reform. This is borne out of ignorance, in the true sense of the word. And it’s in large part because of the gap in schooling you mention. Simply loads of people are clueless about what political groups even stand for. Let alone checking our actual policies. This also leads to apathy being unevenly weighed towards younger people. Which suits a right wing establishment. It also leaves open a space for dangerous populist rhetoric. Which the Owen Jones brigade has been guilty of lately, as well as the usual suspects on the right. Both grifting off the ‘they’re all the same’ bollocks
