  1. It’s a shame for the House of Fraser staff if it goes tits up. Having said that, he’ll fuck over everyone bar upper level management anyway even if it’s a financial success for him

    Terrorism

It'll either be that or cancer of the semicolon
  3. I read that. Refunding those who bought tickets now though. Said there was a 5 day ticketing policy so I can only assume they were bought in advance when it looked like there would be a bit more play on the final day (allthough I didn't think they bothered selling tickets for the 5th day in advance any more). Said there was 2,000 bought so they must've been bought before the close of play otherwise I can't see how there'd by anything like that number taking up the offer. Wouldn't want to criticise Notts too much because at least you can buy decent food and drink at a reasonable price for the tests there unlike the generic, overpriced shit and piss served up at the likes of Durham for big matches.
  4. Some of the stick Pope is getting is unbelievable by the way. I know he played a bad shot but he's 20 years old and he's been batting at no. 6 for Surrey. He's played 16 first class matches and before he'd played test cricket he'd never come in to bat until more than 20 overs had been bowled in the longer format. Then he's been faced with coming in at 4 with the ball about 10 overs old against a world class attack. He's clearly got talent and got something about him but the likes of Buttler and Stokes should be coming in to bat before him. We should be gently nuturing talent like that not hoying it in to the deep end.
  5. On the Beeb the other day there was a report about the white, conservative 'Christian' Republican voters who'd previously been the most concerned with how a politician's private life affected their ability to operate as a politician but how they were now the group for whom it concerned them the least. It claimed they'd become 'more forgiving'. I mean, ffs. They've just demonstrated they're the massive hypocrites everybody already knew them to be, that's all.
  6. Not as thick as they were for giving him a job. His reputation was partially repaired when he got the job here after some success on the continent but how the fuck anyone could think he's the right bloke to manage their club after his record with us and after going back to Derby is beyond me.
  7. They seem to watch Look North desperately hoping for something they can attribute to the Magedia / NUFC-bias. Oblivious to the fact Jeff Brown is the main sports presenter and a dyed-in-the-wool Mackem. I actually caught his bulletin when they'd beat Everton to stay up / send us down*. He could barely contain his joy. Tbh, I just thought, if it was us in their shoes, I'd probably be the same. Could you imagine the reaction from the knuckle-draggers on RTG if the roles were reversed though? *just for SMB
  8. They fucking detest Dawn Thewlis. Her dad played for Newcastle reserves (and played cricket for Northumberland). And, as far as I can tell, that’s it
  9. When syphilis just isn’t enough
  10. Think I’ll give the Cape Town Transfusion a miss as well
  11. Don’t talk about our allies that way
  12. The Ambleside recommendations were for Strawb (staying at Windermere) btw. As you say, it's a canny distance from Keswick.
  13. Aye, of the larger places in the lakes Ambleside is my favourite. Just a short drive / taxi / bus ride from Windermere too. Although the buses are ridiculously expensive
  14. I know a lot of people get offended over next to nowt but this was a little bit insensitive: https://www.eater.com/2018/8/16/17698106/tuskegee-experiment-cocktail-323-westport-connecticut
  15. Tooj has been. I shit thee not
  16. Not really been to Keswick for ages, mate. Sorry
  17. Interesting, thanks. I was going to alert you about the odds on India actually but I'm always reticent about stuff like that because I'd feel responsible if it didn't come through. I wish I had the balls to stick a few grand on it tbh as 1/10 of India winning was basically free money. I know the bookies are cautious about the possibilities etc. but suggesting they'd only win 10 times out of 11 is ridiculous. They'd win at least 99 times out of 100. Especially with the forecast for dry weather for today and tomorrow.
