Bit sad by this tbh. It seems that the US has won. Especially if people believe him to be a russian stooge etc. Most of that is smear isnt it? Him and Snowdon had valid information that was in the public interest. his "rape" charge was proven to be false and aquitted ,wasn't it? (Based around an accusation of not using a condom?) Timeline here on the BBC but I think the UN getting involved etc , shows some backing for them BBC News - Julian Assange sex assault allegations: Timeline Since then, the UK has gone on to implement the same dark monitoring and influencing tools that Snowdon lifted the lid off: I don't believe this to be conspiracy , I've actually done some jobs in the past to mitigate against some of these tools, for clients overseas. FinFisher / Gamma International (whatever the new product is) Remember when "terrorism on Ipads and phones" were a threat, and you had to turn them on at British Airports to prove they weren't bombs? (They can see that on an xray, surely?) The Data Communications Bill (cough.. UK Patriot Act "if you are a patriot you will share all your personal communications without the need for a warrant or criminal suspicion") The "Nudge Unit" (behavioural Insights team) and most recently, the data reform bill. (All your datas is ours ) We wouldn't know anything about FinSpy / Fisher type activity if it wasn't for Snowdon. The fact that most of these techs are in, and we've a lot of sensible people believing these people are stooges or doing it for their own benefit , is pretty worrying for me. Side note, but propaganda / government control is , for me, pretty serious here at home now - I was pretty pissed off to see advertising boards for the current government all over the town the other week (Levelling up etc). Is that legal, outside of election campaigns? Daily rant done

The Liberal democrats had it in their manifesto in the late 2000's - I voted then for them and they got a coalition - and if I remember correctly, the referendum didnt happen until 2011 and it was diluted away by the conservative majority, into the "First second third fourth choice" system (was it called AV?) ... They'll use that , that's for sure - and probably con voters into believing "we did a vote for PR back in 2011 and the public didnt want it.."
-
Well then, that might well win my Labour vote .. Whichever party has this on the manifesto has my vote. Trouble is, I can see the conservative counter already "Its lefty ... communist... socialist... an attack on our democracy, on british values, whats been wrong with it for the last century" etc etc"

We want to hope he isn't, because seriously I can see the media baying for our Manager! (And as much as I love him, its bad for both clubs - he's a FUTURE england manager, but a bit more future than the next 3 years !)
-
Yeah , I'm being a bit of a twat today - at least you didn't reply with "Fuck off you prick" so that's an improvement on another post I've made today "My point was he should have tried all this over the time between the Euros and now, " When is that exactly? Personally I think he's took his chances now and I hope its worth it, because its probably broken some momentum they felt. A lot of people are playing down the fatigue thing too - but I do think its relevant, it has been an extraordinary campaign for Man City , Liverpool and Tottenham this year. I think we'll beat France with this team though It's the ones like Italy I worry about, who play dirty and dont have teeth . I still think England deserved that game for the Saka foul alone - absolutely blatent.. Some of our fans being pricks doesn't help either ..
-
Ok, probably deserved. I live in the NE now I just thought it a bit smug and bit. But yes, its fair to say that you will be in the 1% at 500 quid a day regionally, what's wrong with that? It puts you in the top 3% nationally. I've also spent two weeks at war with some of the larger consultancies here who are fleecing the absolute fook out of the public sector and it just happened to be all in the name of "Agile" - so a raw nerve there too.

I think I'm in a keyboard warrior stance today, so nothing personal. Whilst I know that's what Scrum master's often preach - its not often practiced by those "pesky developers" in larger environments that have truly embraced the concepts of moving away from siloed teams and becoming more integrated - because it only really fits small teams of a maximum of 6 to 8 people. Which worked before the whole cloud automation and dev ops / dev sec ops / dev sec sales ops and all the other bollocks terms for "stop working as independant siloed teams and producing bug ridden features that never get secured or fixed" etc. (I'm looking at you osk.exe) If you have a team that can be "fed by two pizzas" you are already creating small silos - which might work in the micro sense, but macro wise, within the larger business? I've never been in a Scrum (although to be fair, Im only ever involved if things have ALREADY gone to shit) - where if even your team of 5 devs all have a blocker, that they can each communicate that blocker in 2 minutes each. But, im just yanking on the chain cos of the "har har I'm on 500 quid a day" post, on a football thread in the North East , during a cost of living crisis. I do think it's highly subjective though and I do know there are good working Agile teams out there, but unfortunately, I've seen more bad than good.

Foden was injured in this campaign. (covid) "I think my biggest annoyance with Southgate (and his absurdly over the top supporters) is he plays his system, and despite all the clear issues with it doesn’t change a thing - then once in a while he makes a change sort of like what people are asking for" Then 1 sentence later: "when he should really be simply fine tuning." Which do we want? and what clear issues are there with playing not to concede in a knockout competition and relying on counter attack? It's got us further than my living memory has. We used to win all the friendlies and bottle the competitive games, he's totally reversed that behaviour.
-
Personally, as an England fan thats been to matches and paid for tickets in major competitions, this media shit sickens me. Even here (sorry Howay, usually agree) - we've posts saying "failed boro" manager - well maybe, but hes also been a VERY successful manager from the youth team upwards for the FA with England for years (since 2012 ?) and knows this squad and players. And lets not take the piss and forget who we would have had - Sam Allardyce - and people are complaining that we aren't playing 1990's brazil free flowing attacking football. This is a great England team - it is. This is a friendly break where we try options. People scream at him in the media to not play 5 at the back with 2 holding midfielders and "release the creativity" and we get rolled over or have 5 shots on goal. Don't start with Sterling etc (Sterling is like the opposite of John Barnes, he's one of our top scorers in recent memory).. Every time he's appeased the media it's gone to shit. I'm sure he's one to hold strength to his convictions. Most competition winners play possession football nowadays , with counter attack. I have faith still that our first 11 is strong and the results are consistently the best I've seen from any other England manager in the lifetime that I had memory (I wasn't really old enough for Bobby's England). Terry Venables is the only manager I can rank as close and it was very different times back then. Remember this post and take the piss all you like - but I'm thinking we'll still make the quarters or semi's in Qatar cos no team is going to be able to play free flowing fast attacking football in that fucking heat. No way.

I'm secretly hoping this thread doesn't have the unintended effect of seeing us Gamzumped for everything. It's a fine line between calling "Newcastle tax" and being in a bidding war, signing 3rd or 4th choices.

That's not really the problem I have with UK "Diversity" training. I just think it's horribly driven by people who have ZERO experience of actually living in a diverse environment, or the cultures or groups that they claim to be protecting. For me , the question of diversity is fucking easy - DONT LABEL , just ask people. If you are seeing questions like "a black woman" or " a chinese man" or "non binary person" whatever fuck label, its already being a problem. The whole point is that peoples cultural , spiritual or sexual backgrounds , don't define their ability to do a job, or 100% influence who they are as a human being. I'd like to send all of the so called "Diversity" experts to Malaysia, Cayman, Indonesia, Iran etc and feel what it actually means to be on the other side. (And I mean that like, Malaysia is the biggest Muslim country in the world and its NOT what our media would make out, Kuala Lumpar, was perhaps one of the most tolerant (to other religions) cities that I've lived in, but my wife did cover her shoulders when visiting friends in Mosques etc. Anyone reading any racism or lack of understanding can fuck right off, in my opinion - I know I'm non judgmental, but think a lot of "diversity" needs to be checked against how much harm it does.. True diversity doesnt have equal opportunities employers, HR training etc. It has an application process where you do NOT put your name, sex, date of birth on and even your home address is only held by the custodian in HR" - Look to Canada on how its done right. Employ people based on ability not meeting "quotas".. Last thing I want to rant about is the key language of diversity in the UK is to NOTICE race, religion, sexualism - and to TOLERATE it (the word tolerate literally means "To accept or be patient regarding something unpleasant or undesirable to the individual" , or to tolerate something you dont agree with or like).. Jaysus!

Inside or outside of IR35? - if you knew what you were talking about, you'd not be doing scrum with Agile anymore ,like the true agile Jedis. 😜 (I don't do project management on Excel) but at least you can do timeframes, iteration and produce quality , rather than broken features more easily without Kanban and bloody Scrum... An hour of productivity lost every day in most places. just being a cnut here tho, cos something about that post seemed a little too smug for a Scrum Master backing kanban on a football forum.

Or maybe not follow the Tory lead of hiring spokespeople. Jesus, if you cant do "Public speaking" then you really shouldn't go for leader of a party - in a country who's electoral system has been eroded to an effective personality contest ...
-
Don't worry, they will find a way to blame it on : Johnny Foreigner The EU Terrorists (they've not used this for AGES now) Lefties Enemies of Democracy (this is the new one, imo. Hearing it a lot , its the new "Move on") The ECHR is apparently one now, for trying to force Pritti away from serving her electorate. Communists Tony Blair Leyland Seriously though, I fear they are going to use the RMT strike in a horrible way .... Yesterday , someone died at a tube station (suicide), which are notably less manned than a decade ago - today we've tories saying that Trains will be automated soon, so the workers better think themselves lucky ... Meanwhile, Pritti "can't put a price on a human life".
-
Priti patel responds with "You cannot put a price on lives that are lost".. Unless it's a pandemic , in which case it doesn't matter if those lives are old, infirm , or vulnerable - if the value of commercial property is at risk.
-
It's not to me, when its effectively buried , even by the BBC. This should be MASSIVE news.
-
There's a good documentary on the BBC -(or perhaps channel 4) called the decade the rich won. This is kind of old news really - the IMF taking political control of Greece, ousting a democratically elected government due to "national Debt" was very alarming - especially when put against the figures that are "normal" in the UK now, post covid - as a percentage of GDP. The whole pretending the bank was funding the government with QE , isn't that much different to the IMF taking control of a country which refused to QE to "help the global economy" / pay back its debts (that as the above twitter rant shows, is as real as a baseless currency)

Oh fuck me, it's two posts up.....
-
I scrolled a few pages back. But - has anyone seen this? https://assets.publishing.service.gov.uk/government/uploads/system/uploads/attachment_data/file/1079310/Ministerial_Code.pdf He's re-written the ministerial code - a new forward, saying something along the lines of "this pandemic's been bad and people have made partisan complaints" and now an apology or loss of wages is appropriate. Welcome to hell everyone, for the same reason millions of Americans supported trump - it seems that as a nation we cannot see what's in front of our face. He's easily as bad as Trump.

Other Games 21/22: Talk about Actual Football
scoobos replied to Ayatollah Hermione's topic in Newcastle Forum
What a game this is. It's the opposite of last weeks! -
Roy Keane? Who gives a fuck about that utter cnut of a man. Everytime he's on TV I stop watching and go to a stream - after his open admission of properly trying to end someone's career , he shouldn't be anywhere near the game. Thus he became a Sunderland Manager, he can shove his "opinions" on what makes a good player or human being for that matter. aaaaaahhnd relax.

Other Games 21/22: Talk about Actual Football
scoobos replied to Ayatollah Hermione's topic in Newcastle Forum
Fair for this game CT - but it's not their usual style to be this tip tappy. -
I don't get it - that's why I think we will have him. We wanted him in January and he was blocked, now he's refusing to sign a new contract and leaving on free. That's good for us, innit?

Harry.. Lingard James Justin or Omar Richards.
