Lol Rayvin, its always your posts I quote - soz! I dont know if "changing up local councils from time to time" is actually a good idea, given that the government can now directly control the funding they give. It's all sewn up - give a Tory council vote when Tories are in power and they will give them extra funding , taken from the non Tory councils (And honestly, until the system changes, I think Labour would do the same). I'd be happy to hear the last paragraph is bollocks and be pointed to some rules for protection, but I don't think its coming. There's no strategic value in funding a Labour council for the current government, but every reason to make cuts .

The F1 2022, MotoGP and Other Sports That Go Vroom-Vroom Thread

Not read the thread. They should change to sustainable alternative fuels or fuck off. Are they even allowed to overtake again now? Didn't they put a stop to that back in the 2000's? -
After a tough week I'm so happy that posts like these are being made. Finally, now's the time to share, with a compassionate and aware community: There's something "not quite right" with my cock.

You know what though, and I think its good (as a hater of war)- we don't KNOW that either (that NATO is any better in the same theatre). No ones done particularly well in wars in the past 20 years and although NATO hasn't been tested, I think the only NATO member who could say their army has had victories since 2020 - would be France in Mali. We can only judge that when we put our offence weaponry against their defensive stuff, but that said our efforts in afghanistan , against Zero airforce and a bunch of religious nuts with little education but fierce dedication, would be a good example.

Oh the nostalgia of this comment from a WBA fan: "Last night the approach seemed to be - keep it tight for 70 mins and try to snatch a winner by putting on a couple of subs. Forest's well organised, young , energetic and well coached side must've thought it was their lucky day. "

Thing is, the "tech video" for this ships missile defences make it almost impossible (even if not operated correctly) that this ship can get hit by 1 or 2 missiles, you'd have to fire tens or perhaps hundreds at it. Georgia hit it, but they launched 60 or so missiles at it and they didn't hit it hard enough for any real effect , they still lost the battle. The video shows this 3 tiered 360 degree defence which is supposed to be radar / computer controlled - to counter enemy missiles at 3 different ranges, with 3 different countermeasures. Was it sabotage by its own crew in mutiny? Honestly, that seems more believable than Ukraine hitting it with their own missile - though that is what has been "independently" verified to have happened. What a win for Ukraine that is - and perhaps as someone said in this thread - showing that you can have great tech - but if you cant maintain / operate it properly then this is what happens. (I'll try dig it out of my links on my home laptop if you are interested) In other news, can someone sort Boris Johnson out, becuase his need to put himself (and us) in the spotlight is fucking dangerous imo. They are not skilled enough to get involved in overt militaristic political statements and are rocking the boat when we've no strength on our own. This isn't something that soundbites can help.

Kyle walker peters and/or James Justin (if he recovers fully from that knee). In Southgate I trust.. Interesting that Targett is Southgates number 4 for that position.. Another player I'd never really heard of. (like Dan "where have you been" Burn!") I don't think I watch enough of any other teams games, just NUFC and England.

He wont next season when Harry Kane is in black and white.

Well that's total bollocks on so many fronts. This "first safe country" is total bollocks not in the convention. We are supposed to be working to take a fair share based on quota of refugees, not immigrants, not economic or social migrants, but refugees. The tories very cleverly started calling refugees - migrants, years ago and its stuck . I personally think, if the country feels this way and we are going to act this way - then we need to be honest about it and leave the Geneva Convention for Refugees and own the shame that comes with that. Being a member , and sending a message to the world that we are here to help genuine refugees, then not giving them any legal entry point other than "sling them back" (aussie term) - is just some kind of evil imo. Convention Relating to the Status of Refugees - Wikipedia Germany shames us AGAIN.. There's some surprising info in the countries that genuinelly do take "more than their fair share" and we arent one of them. We do it all the time too, get involved in wars, or arm the aggressor (modern equivalent is Yemen, but Afghanistan 5 years ago is the same) - then it takes refugees months to travel here and we turn them away after leafletting them to leave and that we will help. A large number of these refugees are a result of our economic, military policy, its a harsh truth , but it is a truth. UNHCR - Refugee Statistics

And to think that I was passionately opposed to this , as I felt it allowed the "ruling" party to pick the best time for them, based on public opinion. Seems in BJ's case, its the further away the better - but he's got a trail as long as the equator behind him of shit already - it's clearly his modus operandi to create a web of lies and say one thing and do another.

Lets see how the local elections go - this , unfortunately, is a vote winner imo I WANT to be wrong and just be a totally jaded miserable old fucker! By the way, I'm loving these podcasts, even though they are political. Political populism what and why - Cable Comments with Vince Cable - Podcast.co

I listened to Radio 5 live nicky campbell accidentally this morning (first time ive tuned in) and the general public calling in about this and XR has made me take half a day off and turn a customer away. Im pleased that here, I dont seem to be alone in my absolute fucking fury, but its not good for our health at all!!

I'm thinking the libs might get enough for a coalition again with Lab.
-
Fuck me, who cares - it seems to me that the credibility of our whole parliamentary system is at stake here.

You know what Rayvin, I'm not even sure we are a democracy anymore - I think we need a new word for FPTP , with lobbyists, monopolies etc propping it all up. Switzerland, now that's a democracy and arguably NZ too. Switzerland cant do anything without a public vote - it makes them slow, but it appears to not hinder stability or the ability to react to world events.

Couldn't agree more - wish they'd picked "Just Stop NEW Oil" as their motto though, because it invites shit like this. Fuck me, I just watched it through and I just felt so furious on behalf of the campaigner . The other woman who's ranting about eco-festivals is twitching like a psycho, yet the campaigner seems to really hold her shit together , for no benefit.

"Whole gender binary anyway; to the point where it doesn't really matter anymore, who is what" Yeah, as contentious as it is, I think this is where I start becoming old and immutable. I'm perfectly fine with self identity etc, I understand that - but I also understand dysmorphia / dysphoria and I do feel it falls into that category. This is an awful comparison, but someone with body dysmorphia who amputates their arms and legs does not become someone who is the same as one born with tetra-amelia. Or ones an amputee and ones a quadriplegic person. So, in English - personally, I support being able to identify how you feel comfortable if you have dysphoria / dysmorphia - but I cannot come to terms with saying that you can actually 100% change gender from the sex you were born as, because that's a TRUE or FALSE statement that's scientific , to me. Scientifically, there are 3 sexes - Male, Female and Hermaphrodite at birth. So I end up actually agreeing with some of the hate mongers 😕 Not that I think people dont have a right to "identify" but I struggle when a post op transexual claims the sex that they have re-assinged to. We need a nicer term than Post-Op mind - but it isn't based in any science. And fuck me sorry - haven't I just derailed this whole thiing with my own personal curiosity/ opinion and I'm not sure anyone gives a fuck anymore for my particular demographic's opinion. (Im GEN X and proud!! The forgotten generation that weren't boomers or millenials!) The government are an embarrassment, I'd rather talk about something positive.
-
Ok, that's more believable. I took it literally, knowing OF and knowing are separate things, in my book. I really feel for them, as it just seems that as society becomes "better" , we just pick another bunch of people to demonise. My generation faught Racism, then Homophobia . Once racism was addressed, BBC comedies would use the gay bloke as the punchline instead of the black bloke - it seems in the 00's that that then changed to the Transexual community with "I'm a lady" little britain etc. I've always thought that the Trans community is a LOT less people than the "non white" communities of the 80's and 90's and homosexuals. So I've been shocked at how much shit they've had to take really.
-
I would DEFO remember that! Seriously though, I do know 1 trans person, I forgot. I worked with him years ago at a big UK bank head office and there was a bit of a kafuffle when they came back into the office. It wasn't horrible but it was quite weird , with HR sending a message to everyone not to mention the "change" from man to woman - which seemed wrong to me at the time.
-
That nails it. It's totally honesty based and not enforcable by anyone. The Pritti Patel bullying case showed that.
-
I mean this genuinely, how many? I've never met one in my entire life (as in, knowing anyone whos trans) and think I've had a pretty varied life so far - I'm intrigued as I've always thought that they are a very very small minority of people in the world?
-
Personally, I'm pretty pissed off that the Labour party has gone anti right to protest too. It's a protest, it happens. Address it, give them a platform and start dialogue and this stuff stops. To be fair, they've got a point - they want us to do nothing more to expand oil production; which is what we've pledged to do in the COP26 when Alok whoever the fuck shed his crocodile tears about how much the UK had led it... Rees Mogg thinks we should get "every last drop" in the North Sea , and he's always wrong or pushing for evil.... <rant over>
