  1. Readings got a foot and a half plus, with more scheduled to come. I'd be very surprised if it goes ahead What's the craic with the game getting rescheduled? Would you get your money back and then have to re-apply for a ticket as if it was a new fixture? It isn't looking good.
  2. The only positive I can think of about this game is that it's right near a motorway (as most of these lego stadiums are) so the roads could be pretty well gritted... With no more snow it could be in the balance.
  3. Possibly the shittest resolutiion ever! Mine is to be a better person, again. Something I will fail at immediately, again. Told you it was poor
  4. When I go in Feb Inter are playing on the Sat, but I believe the kickoff isn't till half 11 at night or something daft!
  5. I've got a pretty poor one but will save me money and stop me putting weight on if I stick to it. Instead of eating a massive meal at night for the sake of it, pack half of it away for the next day and take it into work for lunch.
  6. Merry Christmas everybody. Hope you've all had a good day....
  7. Feb - Milan for a weekend break with my mates April - Weekend trip somewhere with the mrs (any suggestions? Got about a 300 quid budget) August - Vegas baby
  8. Resident Evil 5 Bioshock Uncharted and uncharted 2. I would get the 1st one to start with. Its cheap, but I don't think you need it for the story line. Then COD Modern Warfare 2. Just got Uncharted 1 off play.com for 15 quid. If that's decent I'll put the second one on my Christmas list
  9. Got a PS3 the other month and am getting bored of Fifa and the new Need for Speed. Anybody recommend a decent game to buy?
  10. Watching the Shield. Am onto series 5 now after a brilliant series 4. Also got into flash forward which seems superb so far.
  11. Speaking of eyes, about a month ago the top of my right eyelid was red... then it went to the top of my left eyelid... then went to the bottom of my right eye. Now I have a bastard stye on top of my right eye! Doesn't hurt luckily but looks pretty shit.
  12. Went OK actually. First minute was a bit daunting but wasn't that nervous to be fair. Surprised myself!
  13. Got my presentation tomorrow. Went to the docs last week and they said similar to what you've all been saying. As it's a one off she gave me 2... a test one for tonight to see if anything goes wrong and one for the real gig tomorrow.
  14. I went to do it yesterday but every time I got onto the screen on the website my laptop reset. No clue how to resolve it!
  15. Bought a PS3 yesterday with fifa10 and need for speed. Am rather excited about setting it up tonight! Can somebody recommend a single player game for my next purchase?
  16. Zombieland. I went into the cinema not having a clue what genre of film it was (obviusly I knew there were going to be Zombies in it....) and after the first 2 minutes I thought it was going to be some sort of gory horror movie. Needless to say as the minutes went on I realised it was a comedy. A good watch!
  17. The invention of lying - disappointing. I can't help but think that Gervais will never be a funny actor when the work is not from Merchant's mind. I thought his acting was good and at times funny but just not as good as I expected (should have learnt from ghost town really!)
  18. I've got The Corner ready to watch but haven't got round to it. Have become quite addicted to The Shield.
  19. I'm gonna try my luck tonight ringing o2 and asking for an upgrade to an iPhone. My contract runs out in February so would only really be entitled to one in January. Worth a shot though if I say how unhappy I am with my current rubbish (sony ericsson c902).
  20. Cheers for the advice. Few people I know have taken kalms herbal pills for flying and stuff, so willl go to the docs then look into that.
  21. I meant good shout about facing the fears. Suppose I'll never learn otherwise eh.
  22. Propranolol is licensed for anxiety, often used for situations like this. SG, a beta-blocker will help deal with the physical aspects of severe anxiety - such as reduce a racing heart beat, and reduce shaking and sweating. It may also also have a psychological effect - although this will be more placebo than anything else. You won't be able to take one if you have had asthma. Whether your doctor will prescribe one, I don't really know - depends on the doctor. My brother was prescribed propranolol for interview stress. I wouldn't worry about adverse effects for single doses. You could also ask your doctor about a benzodiazepine if the physical aspects of your anxiety aren't prevalent. The thing is, in many professions, you have to give seminars or talks to people. Some people relish it, others, like me, hate it every time but learn to accept it and use props to get by (thank fuck for Powerpoint). If you take a beta-blocker now, how will you ever learn to cope with the pressure? So my advice would be, ask your doctor about this if it is truly a one-off. Otherwise, I would say face your fears head on and just do it. The first 30 seconds are the worst. Good shout mate, cheers. It will be a powerpoint presentation and will be after a couple of other speakers so the pressure wouldn't be that much... only difference being that the people before me will be really experienced in public speaking. I don't mind giving presentations in front of medium groups of any importance, I just think it's the thought of the 150 people more than anything that has got me bricking it! You never know, I might be fine. I never get nervous for exams and was probably too confident for my driving test, this could be similar.
  23. Wonder what doctor my mate goes to then! Or what type of disorder she has!
