  1. i'm not admitting that i'm making stuff up because i'm not. i'm sure i remember zoggy playing well for us for a few games in centre mid a few seasons back. of course i might be wrong, my memory isn't the best. but i'm not deliberately making things up - what would i gain by doing that? alex, you're a funny bloke but i find you a little strange. you seem to take a perverse pleasure in striking up petty arguments. plus you rated alan smith so i win
  2. seen a few recently no country for old men - i thought it was classic. nice to see the cohens go back to the dark side. they do it as well as they do comedy there will be blood - it was an enjoyable performance from day lewis but i was expecting something more gripping after all the hype. could have had half an hour shaved offf the length or me the dark knight - loved it. belting performance from heath ledger. the only thing that annoyed me about the film was the totally gay voice christian bale put on everytime he donned the batman suit.
  3. and the last word goes to: smith
  4. You only made two points there but they're both bollocks. The run of games never happened - you said it was on the left of a middle three originally by the way. And I no longer rate Smith although before he came I thought he was a canny player. Nice try though. you rated smith, so you lose Keegan rates Smith btw. Ok, you should be able to remember a few details. Who were the opponents? Where did you watch these games? What impressed you about N’Zogbia in these performances? Who was the manager? Who was he playing in midfield alongside? Etc. etc. I wouldn’t expect you to know all these things but the odd thing like that would convince me a bit. Given it couldn’t have happened that long ago. Unless you made it up. keegan rating smith is a concern to me - it should be to you too if you care about the club. the kid is absolute garbage. to be absolutely frank mate, i couldn't really give a monkeys whether you think i'm making it up. and like i said in the other thread, i can't remember those details - i'm pretty sure it was at the tail end of a recent season - under either roeder or souness (the season before one or the other of them got sacked)... i seem to remember us going on a nice little run which led us to midtable safety with zoggy playing well in centre mid. iirc as part of a midfield 3. you know i live in london and don't have a season ticket. i watch the matches on sky, the internet the odd home game when i'm back up north and away games in london when i can. i'm not trying to convince you of otherwise or that i'm an uber-soopa-fan but i do try and keep on top of what's going on and i'm not making stuff up to some random bloke on a message board - why would i? oh yeah - and nice one for hitting me where it hurts: my knowledge of the under 21s. you on the other hand admitted yourself that you rated smith when he arrived. i'll leave it there
  5. fucking setanta man. i totally resent having to subscribe to yet another station to see all the games when i already pay those fuckers at sky over 50 squid a month. bring back pay per view i say
  6. i'd take a couple of players as bad as that in the newcastle side. is this on telly? can't find the bastard anywhere

  8. ps: i do rememeber seeing zoggy playing well iwhen he had a run of games in the centre of midfield. i'm not backing down from that - i just can't remember which season it was. there's no pretence on my part. but you do rate alan smith therefore nothing you say can be taken serioulsy
  9. He's not. eh? how's he playing for the under 21s then? Strange Dan, as you normally seem so well informed. two words: alan smith Is that all you've got? it's my default argument for you. never fails I can link you to a thread where it did if you like. The one where you were pretending you'd seen N'Zogbia playing well on the left of a midfield 3 towards the end of a season that never happened. Clueless. whatever. you rate alan smith therefore you fail

  12. what a strange rule. call me a bluff old traditionalist but i'd expect those players that represent their country at under 21 level, to be under 21...
  13. He's not. eh? how's he playing for the under 21s then?
  14. hard to believe the lad is still under 21 like.
  15. tevez to the toon has got to be up there with leighton baines due to sign by friday. not in a million years stevie lad
  16. we've already released him haven't we?
  17. i don't care what we pay him. he's our best striker by a mile so get him signed
  18. mccarthy would be a good buy for them like
  19. He grafts as well though. Great to have an attacking winger but if he's a passenger when you lose possession it puts pressure on your full-back. Not with this fella though. It was great to see him track back at every opportunity, but his attacking qualities will turn out to be more important. We've had plenty of grafters over the last few years, it's pace and creativity that we've been missing. Calmly ran back a couple of times and just took the ball off their players (Rooney didn't look happy). aye. that was class.
  20. oh yeh. the eyesight must be gannin in me old age
  21. aye. he's still a bit young - might be worth tapping up on a youth contract though
  22. what's wrong with that? given, jonas and half the chelsea team? sounds about right to me. ....but crooks is the worst example of positive discrimination ever - he's the master of the non-question. "so michael, you scored the winning goal in the 60th minute...." you have to laugh at his boat race too
  23. Hea hea! Yesterday was my 1st away game and i was amazed at how many fans were somewhat negative before the match, me as always was optimistic of a good performance from the boys and hopeful of a good result! And my faith paid off! Yesterday we showed real promising signs that we are a team, a unit, we are united, in the words of ince at weekend, we showed comradery and spirit and looked very solid at the back (apart from LB) and very slick going forward. We passed the ball well, tracked back and harried well, and on the whole we held our own with the best team in england! If we can take that sort of performance, add a few necessary signings we can all be hopefull of a rather pleasing season indeed. Well done lads... "Ee-Aye Ee-Aye Ee-Aye Oh, Up the premier league we go, when we get to europe, this is what we'll sing, we are geordies, super geaordies...KEEGAN IS OUR KING!" ah, the wonder of youth lol my youths fading quickly with every pint haha How old do you think i am like...im no bairn bud! old man leazesmag makes us all look like whippersnappers tbh
