  1. I would probably say well over 1000 home games and about 100 away games. When I started going to SJP when I was 7 with my father, three quarters of the 60000 capacity was standing. If you arrived just before the kick off you would be passed down the crowd from the back to the front. We used to go to all the away games north of Sheffield. I was lucky to go and see our cup final wins in the 50's and all the games in the World Cup 66 up to semi finals.
  2. Colback is pretty much your average, run of the mill midfielder. If he wasn't he would be playing for a bigger club. I have no doubt that Colback is one of your dyed in the wool Magpies but so are 50000 other guys who have no chance of getting a game. He is very consistent at making a simple pass but you will rarely see him making a defence splitting pass. He will score the odd goal from time to time. He won't let you down but will never get 'star' man marks.
  3. QPR have drooped the fee to £13mil as long as it is paid up front in full.
  4. Some do say that fiction is stranger than truth
  5. And I suppose McClaren telling the London Evening Standard they have not made a bid for Austin is the same thing.
  6. He can not sign until he gets visa clearance, which takes longer than a medical.
  7. Ryan Shawcross and he wouldn't cost 10 mil
  8. It is obvious Debuchy didn't do his homework before he signed for Arsenal or he would have known that he would end up at best as 2nd choice.
  9. If they don't get a move on, Austin will end up at Villa.
  10. Sterling's loyalty has proved to be he will sign for the club who offers him the most money and his agent gets over £2 million for himself.
  11. Guess you would rather have a tour of Whitley Bay, Carlisle, Hartlepool, Darlington and York!!
  12. The last time I checked a bid is not par for the course.
  13. You can forget the Obertans, the Gouffrans and all the other deadbeats. McLaren has shown in his first signing the type and class of player he is after and as long as Ashley keeps coming up with the money then McLaren is going to change the face of our team. As far as transfer fees go this is the THIRD highest fee we have ever paid after Shearer and Owen. The problem with a lot of people on here is that the day after the season ends they expect us to make signings. I see there is a deafening silence from all the people who have said Ashley would never pay big money for a player.
  14. Every one knows that bad news sells more papers than good news stories. Ashley was probably sick and tired of all the anti Newcastle stories which came out of the press most of which never had a shred of factual evidence.
  15. I am sure the French national Manager can not wait to see Cabaye's influence on his Palace team mates, who will be lucky if they are on a third of what he is getting. The total lack of interest from the rest of Europe sums up Cabaye's current status.
  16. If Cabaye is on a hundred grand a week and signing a minimum 3 year contract including his transfer fee Palace will have spent nearly 28 million on a 29 year old player. Is that the bargain buy of the season. lol.
  17. If the players have not got any older since last year they are defying the laws of nature.
  18. For any out of contract players, their contracts end on 30 June.
