Thanks guys. It was awful but we had to do it. She couldn't walk more than a couple of steps and kept collapsing in a heap. They were great at the vets and it literally took a couple of seconds and she was peaceful. One of her sisters has been pacing round the house all night looking for her and keeps coming to tell me that she can't find her. Poor love.

I really ought to be wrapping pressies but instead I'm sat on my arse watching Nigella's Christmas Kitchen and feeling snuggly and warm as it snows outside. Lush

I have to take our oldest puddy tat to the vets in the morning to be put to sleep if she makes it through the night tonight. She's currently drifting in and out of a haze in the cat bed and it's absolutely awful

I say 'work' in the loosest sense of the word as I've not done a days paid work in 11 months, but my lot (classy as they are) are doing a pub crawl from Byker via Ouseburn and through town on Saturday for their Christmas festivities. I know we specialise in anaesthetic but that's going too far..

They're lush man

5 cats here and they all go out but never stray any further than the garden. If you want to keep them as house cats they'll get used to it and the added bonus is that they won't eat plants and then throw up on the carpet.

Rain doesn't bother me, I'm not made of salt. I normally forget to take my brolly and it's almost impossible to carry a brolly and push a pram at the same time so I just end up drenched.

Thanks for your kind words. I know already how hard it will be, sometimes when we are playing together and laughing I am already fearing the silence there will be when I'm back in England. Without a doubt this will be the hardest test I have ever faced and I must re-learn who I am and try and find some hapiness again. I honestly can't imagine how that must feel. I feel like it would kill me to be forced apart from my son. I admire your strength and focus and truly hope you find the happiness that you deserve. And on a lighter note - get yourself to the pub when you get home. I'll buy you a pint

Sorry to drag this thread back on topic but Parky and Jimbo - hope things work out in the best way they can for everyone, whatever that might be. Can't imagine what it must be like having to be apart from your kids in the process, but I hope you're both keeping strong.
