Yes, but a spirited loss against Madrid means he should be given the Chelsea job permanently, again. Or at least that's what I'm picking up from the media, who of course hold no biases.
-
Fat Frank is, very unselfishly, making it clear that he's only been at the club 9 days, and that losing several games on the trot isn't really his fault 😂
-
It also has to be said that if 'Arry Kane and co can't get up for a game against Bournemouth at home having seen us get beat, then there really is something seriously wrong. I haven't seen the match so maybe Bournemouth were just very good, but if you look at the teams on paper Spuds should be winning at home quite easily. I've just had a look at their player ratings and only Son cracked a five.

Up the Forest!!!

I haven't seen the supposedly offside Spuds goal, but regardless fuck VAR. Not even a potentially dodgy decision for Spuds again could help them this time. As I said last week Spuds were just as likely to lose today given how inconsistent they've been. If we can't give this lot a spanking next week we'll have to be having a look at ourselves.
-
Six minutes? Why not just give them ten or twenty.
-
Spuds are supposedly camped in Bournemouth's half. Hopefully Bournemouth can relieve some pressure somehow.

We played badly but a lot of that was down to how good Villa were. We can't have any complaints, Villa were all over us from start to finish. Emery took Howe to school with the way Villa nullified us in midfield. And obviously Watkins had an absolute stormer, which can also be linked to Emery's coaching given he's supposedly had Watkins change the runs he makes into the box. Spurs next week is literally the perfect game to make a response given our positions in the league and ambitions for top 4.

1-3 and a more comfortable victory than the one over Brentford. A weeks rest will do the lads a world of good, and has already been pointed out Villa are overperforming and not even generally against the better teams in the league. Emery has done well with what he has, but that Villa team needs a lot of work in the summer transfer market.
-
Buying those four would be a colossal waste of money given what what their clubs will be asking for them. Hopefully, as some have already said, it's all paper talk based on nothing.
-
Having thought about it, it may be better that Spuds won today in any case. Brighton have more games to play, are a better team, and are in better form. Spuds are just as likely to lose or draw to Bournemouth next week than they are to win. I mean a draw would have been ideal, but a Spuds win might actually be the second best outcome.

Maybe Gordon thought he was hooking him for giving away a free kick and was annoyed about that. Whether that's why Howe subbed him or he was just trying to play out the clock I don't know. The only other sub options for Howe were Bruno, one of the defenders, or one of the other players that had been subbed on. But I think in general players who've been subbed on don't take well to being subbed off. As long as Gordon doesn't overreact it's better that he's annoyed being subbed off than having no reaction.

His talent has never been in doubt, but the question remains if he can show the bare minimum of work rate and attitude consistently over a season, and not act like fanny when he gets annoyed on the pitch. If we weren't headed in the direction we're hopefully going, as in into the elite, then I'd be more than happy to put up with his, at times, suspect attitude. Hopefully Eddie has finally got through to him, but whether it will stick permanently is open for debate. It's not like he's a kid at 26 so he may be set in his ways.

Apparently it was a very flat performance from Brentford tonight. It would be nice if this is the start of a downturn for them. Shame Toney didn't get booked given that would have seen him get a suspension for Saturday. As for us it's incredibly positive that both Wilson and Isak scored tonight, and that Wilson in particular looks to be back to his best both physically and mentally. And if Joelinton is banging in a brace you know things are well on track 😂 Two more away games in a row and I'd be more than happy with four points, and the way we're playing it's more than doable. 7 points from three away games in a row will set us up incredibly well for the remainder of the season.

That would be a decent theory if Moyes wasn't their manager. By all accounts he's even more negative than usual this season. I suppose he does have the excuse, to a certain extent, of how many games they've played due to Europa. We'll see, hopefully Moyes does put them out to play a bit and that allows us to play to our strengths. Regardless I still think we'll honk them 2 or 3 nil.
-
And they still haven't bought/lined up a centre forward worth a damn, unless they are going to bring Lukaku back, but they seemed resigned to selling him at a big loss.
-
He'd be brining the ability to specialise as a defensive mid, even though he can also play further forward. Longstaff isn't all that comfortable when he plays in front of the defence and Bruno although he can play there is wasted in that position. As I said in another comment if he's over 30m we should look elsewhere, which seems likely given how ridiculous Manure are to deal with.
